Turner networks TNT and TBS have put four projects in development led by a sequel to the 1985 film “D.A.R.Y.L.” that would star Tony Hale.

The TV sequel, like the movie, will come from Paramount, with Jody Lambert and Matt Oberg writing. Hale would star as an older version of Daryl (played by Barret Oliver in the film) a government-created robot with superhuman reflexes and mental abilities.

Additionally, TBS has the sci-fi comedy “Space” from Sony, and TNT has two dramas “The Fall” and “Liar’s Club.” The Hollywood Reporter first reported on the development slate.

Daredevil's demise at Netflix was quite the surprise for fans of the series.

In the aftermath of the decision to end the superhero drama, many have questioned whether the decision came solely from Netflix or if Marvel played a part in the cancellation.

Amy Rutberg, who played Marci Stahl on the series that kickstarted Netflix's Marvel TV Universe has broken her own silence on what might have went down.

“My contacts at Marvel were very surprised. Any of the rumors that it was a Marvel decision are wrong, I think it was purely a Netflix decision. That comes from personal conversations with people high up at Marvel. They were surprised,” Rutberg admitted in an Inverse interview.

“We had heard rumors we would start production as early as February 2019,” she said.

The story of who is to blame for the cancellation of Netflix’s “Daredevil” continues, as actress Amy Rutberg, who played Marci Stahl on the superhero series, says the Charlie Cox-led show’s blood is on the streamer’s hands — not Marvel’s.

“My contacts at Marvel were very surprised,” Rutberg (pictured above right) told Inverse, in an interview published last week. “Any of the rumors that it was a Marvel decision are wrong, I think it was purely a Netflix decision. That comes from personal conversations with people high up at Marvel. They were surprised … We had heard rumors we would start production as early as February 2019. It’s a little unusual to be that far ahead in the planning and cancel the show, which makes me think Netflix was laboring over whether or not to cancel it. My guess was it was not an easy decision.”

Marvel fans still haven’t quite come to terms with the fact that Daredevil has been cancelled after just three seasons. Last night Netflix announced that they cancelled Daredevil, and fans were not happy. It sucks! This was just such a great show that got better and better with every season!

It’s hard not to think that the whole Disney+ thing played a role in its cancellation. Some fans think that all these Marvel shows that Netflix has cancelled will eventually continue on Disney+ and I hope that happens!

Marvel and Disney+ are currently developing a slew of new, big budget shows that will focus on characters that have been introduced in the Marvel movies. Will they want to spend even more money on continuing these Netflix shows that were supposedly seeing dips in ratings? I hope that we haven’t seen the last of Daredevil, but we’ll just have to wait and see.

Anyway, Daredevil season four was already planned out when the team got news of the cancellation.

Amy Rutberg is set to play a recurring role in the ABC reboot pilot “Get Christie Love,” Variety has learned.

Rutberg will play Danielle Moran, a.k.a. “Silver Manicure,” described as beautiful, mysterious and calculating. Targeting Christie Love (Kylie Bunbury), she can anticipate the CIA agent’s actions in a way that suggests a shared past.

Rutberg is perhaps best known for her role as Marci Stahl in the Marvel-Netflix series “Daredevil,” a role she reprised in the crossover event series “The Defenders.” She has also appeared in NBC’s “Taken” series as well as shows like “NCIS: New Orleans,” “Blindspot,” “The Blacklist,” and “Elementary.”

She is repped by Abrams Artists Agency and Vanguard Management Group.

In addition to Bunbury, Rutberg will appear opposite previously announced cast members Khandi Alexander, Julia Kelly, Camille Guaty, Thomas Cocquerel, Shea Buckner, Juan Javier Cardenas, Steven Weber, Lisseth Chavez, and Dennis Oh.

Perhaps no author fascinates the world like J.D. Salinger does. Whether it’s if there will ever be a movie version of The Catcher in the Rye or actual details of the man’s life, he captivates. A recent documentary called Salinger shed some light on him, but now a biopic is hitting theaters in Rebel in the Rye. It comes out this week and will probably struggle to stand out in the crowd. It had a fairly muted debut back in January at the Sundance Film Festival and it stands to reason that it’ll be pretty much the same thing here in general release. It’s a shame too, as Salinger deserves more. The film is a biopic about the aforementioned J.D. Salinger (Nicholas Hoult), a young man and aspiring writer who would go on to write one of the all time great novels in The Catcher in the Rye.

IFC Films has debuted an official trailer for the film Rebel in the Rye, an indie drama which first premiered at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year. The film stars Nicholas Hoult as famed author J.D. Salinger, telling the story of his early years, his time fighting in WWII, and his pursuit of a love interest. It also shows how the success of his novel, Catcher in the Rye, turned him into a recluse, staying out of the public for the rest of his life after it was published in 1951. The cast includes Zoey Deutch as Oona O'Neill, Kevin Spacey, Lucy Boynton, Sarah Paulson, Victor Garber, Hope Davis, Amy Rutberg, James Urbaniak, Celeste Arias, and Eric Bogosian. With spoilers for Daredevil season 2, we look ahead to the future of Marvel’s Netflix collaboration…

Contains spoilers for Daredevil seasons 1 and 2 and Jessica Jones season 1.

Daredevil season 2 had plenty to enjoy, not least the additions of Jon Bernthal’s The Punisher and Elodie Yung’s Elektra to the Hell’s Kitchen/Netflix corner of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. But among all the punching, kicking and murdering, there were also some hefty teases of things to come.

Since Marvel has Jessica Jones season 2, Luke Cage season 1, Iron Fist season 1 and the Defenders crossover series in its Netflix pipeline, it should come as no surprise that Daredevil season 2 was littered with teases of things to come – some small, and some major.

The Defenders slowly uniting...

Since that awesome second trailer for Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War dropped yesterday, fans have been declaring their allegiance to either #TeamCap of #TeamIronMan all over social media – but what happens when a bunch of people who share the Marvel banner with the heroes from the movie are asked to choose a side?

ComicBook.com caught up with several cast and crew members from Netflix’s Daredevil on the red carpet of the season 2 premiere, and the answers they got were very interesting indeed.

Jon Bernthal (Punisher) simply chose Spider-Man (we’ll mark that down as #TeamIronMan) as he’s played by his pal Tom Holland, Deborah Ann Woll (Karen Page) went with Cap, Amy Rutberg (Marcie) was all about the Shellhead, and Charlie Cox (the Man Without Fear himself) also sided with the Sentinel of Liberty.

Recently, CBS dropped the new,official synopsis/description for their upcoming "Elementary" episode 11 of season 4. In the new independent horror movie Refuge, Carter Roy, Amy Rutberg, and young actress Eva Grace Kellner play a family trying to survive in a post-apocalyptic world where the population has been almost entirely wiped out by disease. Given recent, panic-causing news events, the film could hardly be more topical. So what is it like to have made a movie about a global pandemic just as people are reaching for their face masks? "It’s incredibly coincidental that it’s peaking right now," says Refuge director Andrew Robertson, whose film recently played the Toronto After Dark and L.A.-based Screamfest genre festivals.
