A horror comedy called The Invisible Raptor had its world premiere at the 2023 Sitges Film Festival and then made the festival rounds for a year. For a while, the film had a 100% fresh score on Rotten Tomatoes – and even though that number has gotten lower since The Invisible Raptor received a theatrical and digital release (courtesy of Well Go USA) back in December, the audience score is still at 93%. Now, the film is set to reach Blu-ray on February 4th (copies can be pre-ordered Here), and ahead of that release, a trio of clips have been unveiled. You can watch one in the embed above and two more at the bottom of this article.
Directed by Mike Hermosa from a screenplay by Mike Capes and Johnny Wickham, The Invisible Raptor has the following synopsis: After a top-secret experiment goes wrong, a hyper-intelligent invisible raptor escapes the lab and begins wreaking havoc in the surrounding neighborhood.

When Hallmark+ was announced in summer 2024, it was revealed that Hallmark Channel’s Countdown to Christmas movies would not be added to the app.
“‘Countdown to Christmas’ remains a linear experience,” Hallmark Media’s EVP of Programming, Lisa Hamilton Daly told Variety at the time.
She added, “The content on the app is going to be Holidazed, Mistletoe Murders, our unscripted shows and a couple of movie trilogies coming up that we haven’t announced yet. There’s going to be a bunch of holiday content, but it’s going to be separate and different from what’s on linear.”
Well, Hallmark is giving fans a special gift before Christmas by adding nearly all of this year’s new movies.
15 movies have already been added and there are 24 more movies being added on Friday (December 20).
Hallmark+ is available for $7.99 per month or $79.99 per year. Subscribers will also get Hallmark Store rewards for having a membership.

Ever since Steven Spielberg adapted Michael Criction's iconic novel, Jurassic Park has remained the template for the dinosaur genre in film, with everything else either parodying or homaging the 1993 Oscar winner. Amidst the crowd, there have been a variety of movies with their tongues planted firmly in their cheeks, which Mike Capes and Johnny Wickham's The Invisible Raptor aims to be, and yet the seemingly self-aware feature finds itself way too bogged down by its underwhelming script.
The Invisible Raptor is a film directed by Mike Hermosa, in which a top-secret experiment unleashes a hyper-intelligent invisible raptor upon a neighborhood. Those who grew up watching FX-heavy seriocomic mainstream creature features of the 1980s and ’90s may enjoy the nostalgic fun had at their expense in “The Invisible Raptor.” Viewers resistant to a landslide of scatological humor, however, may find the laughs pretty slim in this overlong, uninspired monster spoof. Director Mike Hermosa’s indie feature is enterprisingly polished, but the weak material provided by Mike Capes and Johnny Wickham’s screenplay might’ve worked better boiled down to the length of a “Funny or Die” short. After a run of genre festival gigs, it’s being launched by Well Go USA on limited screens and digital platforms Dec. 6.

Dumb comedies come in several varieties. The worst are those that don’t realize what a mess they’re making before unleashing them on unsuspecting viewers. The others are intentionally designed to be stupid, and can range from brilliant to moderately amusing. Invisible Raptor falls within the last group. The title alone tells you where it’s headed, so here’s how to watch it:
Step one is to suspend a heaping dung-load of disbelief as to whether such a creature could exist, and why the hell any scientists would raise it. Once you leap that hurdle and buy the premise, you know what must occur. It will escape and start chomping the local populace, while a handful of feckless protagonists stumble around trying to contain or kill it. No mystery as to what must occur, but there are...

"The Inner Light" remains one of Captain Jean-Luc Picard's (Patrick Stewart) greatest Star Trek: The Next Generation stories. From "The Best of Both Worlds" to "Lower Decks," several iconic Tng episodes continue to reverberate throughout the Star Trek timeline. Not only do these episodes contain plot elements that remain relevant in the franchise today, but they also affect the USS Enterprise-d's main characters in often profound ways. "The Inner Light," for example, tells an unconventional Star Trek story in which Captain Picard lives an entire life in a matter of minutes.
In Star Trek: The Next Generation season 5, episode 25, "The Inner Light," an energy beam from an alien probe renders Captain Picard unconscious. While the crew of the USS Enterprise-d tries to figure out how to wake their Captain, Picard experiences a lifetime of 40 years living on an alien planet as a man named Kamin. Hallmark’s Countdown To Christmas movie Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story is causing a huge sensation. While this movie is not about Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s love story, this is certainly inspired by it. Moreover, his mom, Donna Kelce, is in this holiday movie, along with the leads, Hunter King and Tyler Hynes.
As there was some down time, did Mama Kelce talk about her sons or the pop star? Tyler and Hunter dished on that very thing.

Hunter King and Tyler Hynes are sparking a romantic connection in the trailer for Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story.
Hallmark and the NFL teamed up to produce the holiday movie, which sees a Kansas City Chiefs superfan and the team’s director of fan engagement fall in love. While the film isn’t based on anything specifically, the film does come after global superstar Taylor Swift made waves in the football world when she started dating Chiefs star Travis Kelce last year.
“Alana Higman (King) is sure that her family’s lifelong history as Kansas City Chiefs superfans makes them a frontrunner to win the team’s ‘Fan of the Year’ contest. Derrick (Hynes), director of fan engagement, is tasked with evaluating how Alana and her family stack up against the other two finalists. Fans of dinosaur movies are going to love The Invisible Raptor, a film which really is just as crazy as it sounds. Directed by Mike Hermosa, who also helmed Dutch Hollow and Wildflower, the plot of The Invisible Raptor focuses on an invisible velociraptor which was created by scientists before breaking free from captivity and slaughtering everything in its path.
With law enforcement not being able to determine the culprit behind the attacks, it falls to failed palaeontologist Dr. Grant Walker (Mike Capes) and his security guard friend, Deniel ‘Denny’ Denielson (David Shackelford), to save the day. As the bodycount continues to rise (with the spectacular gruesome kills being one of the film’s strongest qualities), Walker and Denielson are forced to resort to drastic measures in order to stop the invisible reptile.
In addition to playing the lead role of Dr. Grant Walker, Capes also penned the screenplay for The Invisible Raptor,...

"It's an Apex Predator... that's suppressed 65 million years of gut instinct!" Well Go USA has revealed an official trailer for a hilarious new B-movie horror thriller called The Invisible Raptor, made by filmmaker Mike Hermosa. Not to be confused with The Invincible Raptor, you can't see this one. We also recommend Tammy & The T-Rex. After a top secret experiment goes wrong, a hyper-intelligent invisible raptor escapes the lab and begins wreaking havoc. An amusement park paleontologist and a hapless security guard must team up to stop the invisible raptor from causing even more mayhem in their small town. Early reviews say the film "punches well above its weight with likeable characters and some genuinely entertaining gore." The Invisible Raptor stars Mike Capes, David Shackelford, Caitlin McHugh Stamos, Sandy Martin, Bobby Gilchrist, Richard Riehle, and Sean Astin. This is a fun concept because you don't need to pay for VFX to...

Office Space is celebrating its 25th anniversary following its delayed path to success, although hopefully no one would get their ass kicked for saying something like that.
Released Feb. 19, 1999, director Mike Judge’s enduring and endlessly quotable workplace satire follows computer programmer Peter Gibbons (Ron Livingston), who decides to stop caring about his day job and teams up with Initech co-workers Michael Bolton (David Herman) and Samir Nagheenanajar (Ajay Naidu) to defraud the company. The Fox comedy — featuring such on-the-rise performers as Jennifer Aniston, John C. McGinley, Gary Cole and Stephen Root — collected just $10 million at the time but became a cult favorite after finding a following through cable and home video.
Other standouts from the cast include Richard Riehle as engineer liaison Tom Smykowski, who defends his job (“I have people skills!”) to Paul Willson and McGinley as the two Bobs who are put in charge of layoffs. In...

"I'm not from Hell, I'm from Indiana!" A festival promo trailer crashes in for an indie sci-fi comedy called Invaders From Proxima B, made by actor / filmmaker Ward Roberts. It's premiering in the next week at the 2023 Austin Film Festival in Texas, though has no other release dates set - it'll be touring at more fests. When a cute, wise-cracking alien from Proxima B named Chuck crash lands in their backyard, the Jankins family must work together to save their new fuzzy friend from a dangerous array of weirdos that show up in hot pursuit. The stakes couldn't be higher for Chuck, the Jankins, and maybe even all of planet Earth. It's super wacky – when the puppet alien shows up gets really fun. Reminds me of the kind of mega low budget, kooky and amusing early films the Duplass Bros or Kevin Smith made early on. Ward Roberts also stars with Samantha Sloyan,...

I remember hearing Viggo Mortensen on an episode of Here’s The Thing with Alec Baldwin where he came off as the rare combination of pretentious but likable. A man who carried himself as an intelligent, soft-spoken guy who liked arthouse movies and votes Green Party, he had just the right amount of movie-star charisma to pull off his slightly self-satisfied air. So essentially I want to root for the guy, especially when tackling moviemaking.
For a second I thought he was capitalizing on it in his second directorial effort. The opening two shots of The Dead Don’t Hurt showed some promise: 1) a man riding horseback in knight’s armor, followed by 2) a long take fixating on a dying Vicky Krieps’ face. From there I thought Mortensen was maybe, as director, smuggling a surrealism and slow cinema inspired by collaborator Lisandro Alonso into TIFF-premiere filler. Yet that mystery and formal precision soon ends.

When you think of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," you probably think of the hit TV series that introduced an entire generation of '90s kids to the metaphor of high school being like a horror movie. But if you happened to come of age in the early '90s, you might well remember your first introduction to the character of The Slayer coming with 1992's "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" movie.
Written by Joss Whedon, who eventually became showrunner on the TV series, and directed by Fran Rubel Kuzui, the film starred Kristy Swanson as the titular slayer and was a decidedly lighthearted affair, especially in comparison to the show that succeeded it. Co-starring Luke Perry and featuring a surprisingly impressive cast that included Donald Sutherland, Rutger Hauer, Hilary Swank, and Paul Reubens, "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" '92 debuted to unfavorable reviews and was sadly relegated to a footnote in "Buffy...

... Well then! If you've just watched tonight's episode of HBO's "Barry," entitled "it takes a psycho", then you know that for a show that is rarely screwing around, this episode really and truly did not screw around. If you haven't watched, just be warned (even more than usual) that surprises are plenty this week, so spoilers ahoy.
As you'll likely recall, last week's installment wrapped with Barry Berkman (Bill Hader) escaping prison thanks to a botched hit job (involving a hitman/podcaster played by Fred Armisen). So it's no surprise that this week starts in prison, as the grumpy warden (Richard Riehle) instigates a beatdown of Barry's old friend Monroe Fuches (Stephen Root), presuming the latter let the would-be assassins inside. Though Fuches did know about the attempt on Barry's life and tried to warn the now-infuriated guards, he of course has no idea where Barry might be at the moment.
