Her eldest daughter Ylenia Carrisi (b. November 1970) was visiting New Orleans when she went missing in the French Quarter. She had been
staying at the LeDale Hotel with a street musician when she was last
seen on 6 January 1994. The man was arrested in connection with her
disappearance by the New Orleans police detectives, but later released
due to lack of evidence. She has yet to be found.
She moved to Rome, Italy, together with her mother and sister, in the early 60s. In October 2007, after buying a house in Sedona, Arizona, she left Italy to return to the USA.
Together with her ex husband Al Bano, she twice achieved 7th place at
the Eurovision Song Contest, in 1976 with "We'll live it all again"
and in 1985 with "Magic, Oh Magic".
One half of Italy's most popular singing duo in the 1970s and 1980s,
with her husband Al Bano. Their songs include "Felicità" (1982), "Ci
sarà" (1984), winning title at the Sanremo Festival, "Sempre sempre"
(1986) and "Nostalgia canaglia" (1987).
