No Solicitors is a new dark horror comedy from writer and director John Callas, which has been selected to play at the Horror-on-Sea Film Festival on Saturday 27th January. I got chance to ask John about the inspiration for writing the film, making it a dark comedy and working with the talented cast.

What can we expect from the film?

It's been kicking around for absolute yonks now but Inception Media Group will finally be giving Stephen Scott's horror comedy 'Silent But Deadly' a much deserved DVD and VOD release. The stateside release will occur next month and land simultaneously on the two formats from 24 September. The flick stars 'Clerks' hero Jason Mewes who plays nice guy turns psycho in the feature and goes on a killing spree following the loss of his beloved goat. 'Silent But Deadly' also stars William Sadler ('Machete Kills'), Jordan Prentice and an awesome selection of hotties that include welcome nudity from Kim Poirier (Dawn of the Dead), a topless Nicole Arbour and Rebeka Coles-Budrys. Synopsis

In this film directed by Adam Smoluk, we follow a grocery clerk, Trevor (James Clayton). He's so naive that he helps his manager, Ian (Ross McMillan), to rob the store they both work at. When the money is lifted off Trevor and Ian, they enlist the help of Glen (Stephen Eric McIntyre), a slimy, incompetent detective, to retrieve the stolen cash. But events soon go awry and Trevor must now determine friend from foe, and get the cash back before it’s too late.

The film also stars Kim Poirier, Aaron Merke and Jason Malloy.

Battlestar Galactica star Katee Sackhoff is starring in the tentatively titled telefilm Be Careful What You Wish For, which is set to air on Lifetime in the U.S. and on CH Television in Canada.

The two-hour movie, from Blueprint Entertainment, is set in a small town in the 1990s. Sackhoff will star as Sara Jacob, a teenager who has had a crush on one of her classmates since preschool. But when an eclipse lands the unsuspecting teens at their wedding almost 20 years in the future, neither of them is prepared for what adulthood has in store.

Also starring in the movie, which just wrapped production, are Sage Brocklebank (Psych), Kim Poirier (Dawn of the Dead) and Tommy Lioutas (Whistler). Careful is set to air July 16 on Lifetime.

Careful, filmed on location in Regina and Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, was produced by Blueprint with local producer Stephen Onda Prods. The companies produced the TV movie Intimate Stranger.
