This article contains spoilers for the TV series Pretty Little Liars.
Several characters took on the villainous mantle of ‘A’ across Pretty Little Liars’ seven seasons. Some were the true masterminds behind the plans for the Liars’ downfall, while others served as minions on the ‘A’ Team, there to do ‘A’s’ bidding and keep tabs on what the Liars were up to. Not every ‘A’ or member of the ‘A’ Team is equal though, with some being significantly more terrifying than others.
Here’s every person who was officially part of the ‘A’ conspiracy ranked by general scariness as blackmailers, stalkers, and criminal masterminds and by how satisfying their reveal was in the series.
13. Lucas Gottesman, Melissa Hastings
Lucas (Brendan Robinson) and Melissa (Torrey DeVitto) are tied for last place because both really only joined the ‘A’ team because they were being blackmailed themselves. Lucas does work with Mona...

Pretty Little Liars' series finale was shocking, to say the least. After seven seasons, the ABC Family series came to an end by revealing that the true A is actually the long lost twin sister of... Spencer (Troian Bellisario). Spencer and this mystery sibling, named Alex Drake, were separated at birth, setting off a truly unpredictable chain of events. It's a story that's honestly too insane to understand, but here's the short of it: Mary Drake (Andrea Parker), the twin sister of Jessica DeLaurentis, Alison's mom, gave birth to Alex and Spencer in the Radley Sanitorium. Spencer was placed with her biological father Mark Hastings, while Alex was sent to live with a rich family in...

HBO Max has given a direct-to-series order to a “Pretty Little Liars” reboot from “Riverdale” creator Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, the streaming service said Thursday.
Titled “Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin,” the show will be set in a new town and follow a “new generation” of liars, but exist in the same universe as the Freeform series created by I. Marlene King and based on the novel series of the same name written by Sara Shepard. King is not involved in the reboot.
Here’s the official description for “Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin”:

“Riverdale” creator Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa is working on a reboot of Freeform’s “Pretty Little Liars,” TheWrap has learned.
Aguirre-Sacasa’s take on the teen drama, which was created by I. Marlene King and based on the novel series of the same name written by Sara Shepard, would follow a new story, focused on new characters. He is developing the “Pll” project for Warner Bros. TV — which recently absorbed “Pretty Little Liars’s” original studio, Warner Horizon — where he has an overall deal.
Showrunner of both The CW’s “Riverdale” and Netflix’s “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina,” Aguirre-Sacasa will executive produce the potential reboot series alongside Alloy Entertainment’s Leslie Morgenstein and Gina Girolamo.
No platform is attached to the reboot, which is still in the early stages of development and has not been taken out to the marketplace yet.
Warner Bros. TV declined to comment on the “Pretty Little Liars” project.

Twisted twins and doppelgangers. Some engage in incest, others just have horrible, even life-threatening relationships.
For some reason, the shows with twins played by the same actor or actress, in this case Alexandra Chando of The Lying Game, or Sarah Michelle Gellar of Ringer, don't seem to last very long.
But these relationships are always so juicy and dark because even compared to siblings, there's just a certain bond between twins that is undeniable and leads to much deeper rifts in their family fabric.
Seems like daytime soaps have an uncanny habit of revealing a shocking doppelganger.
Below, here are some of our favorite dark, deep, twisty, and puzzling twin relationships.

If Season 6B of Pretty Little Liars kicked off with an unspoken ode to The Godfather: Part III, season 7, which premiered on Freeform last night, is all How To Get Away With Murder. After flashing forward a few days into the future, we’re greeted by shrieks of panic from Spencer (Troian Bellisario), Emily (Shay Mitchell) and Aria (Lucy Hale), as they frantically plow their shovels into the ground of a dimly lit woods. Sound familiar?
The girls are digging a grave, but it’s unclear for whom. We’re supposed to assume it’s for Hanna (Ashley Benson), but anyone who’s spent some time with Pretty Little Liars, or has an inkling about how television works, knows it’s unlikely that the beloved character would face such a callous demise. And that’s exactly the show’s problem. In its seventh — and presumably final — season, Pretty Little Liars...

The honeymoon period is definitely over for Alison Dilaurentis (Sasha Pieterse) on Pretty Little Liars.
Spoiler Alert: Stop reading now if you haven't seen this week's episode.
Creator I. Marlene King made good on her tease about a twin twist: The late "Big A" Charlotte (Vanessa Ray) was actually Mrs. Dilaurentis' (Andrea Parker) adopted daughter, and the biological daughter of her secret sister Mary Drake, who was also institutionalized at Radley Sanitarium. So that makes Charlotte the cousin of Ali and Jason (Drew Van Acker), which in turn makes their college fling while Charlotte was masquerading as CeCe slightly less incestuous.

Who is Charles?
That's the question Pretty Little Liars fans face after Tuesday night's (literally!) electrifying spring finale.
Though we never saw his face, we know he's "A." According to the anagram from a few episodes ago, his last name is Dilaurentis. And based on the old film footage showing Mrs. D (Andrea Parker) playing with two little blond boys, we're pretty confident this is author Sara Shepard's twin twist come to life. But it's not Alison (Sasha Pieterse) who has the secret, evil doppelgänger – it's her brother, Jason (Drew Van Acker).

Once the police know about the ‘A’ that’s been tormenting all the girls for years, the girls will explain how Shana attacked them and Aria killed her in self defense. If you thought the season four finale of Pretty Little Liars a few months ago had a lot going on, tonight’s season premiere put it to shame. Any theories that finding Alison (Sasha Pieterse) would put an end to all the questions has gone right out of the nearest window. It seems like there are even more now that the Liars know for sure she’s alive than there ever were when she was presumed dead. On top of that, the Liars are now going to find themselves standing between Mona (Janel Parrish) and her newly formed army of Ali hating peers (plus Melissa), and their target. Going into season five, it’s clear that no one is safe and everyone is suspect.
