The first couple episodes of season 2 have already aired, and so far they have the fans buzzing with theories, just like old times.

No, that's not really Harrison Ford you're hearing in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle - but you're not alone if you can't tell the difference. Although role originator Harrison Ford has portrayed the derring-do adventurer on screen as recently as 2023's The Dial of Destiny, he doesn't lend his voice to Lucasfilm and Machine Games' recent adaptation. Instead, the video game Indy is played by prolific voice actor Troy Baker, best known for portraying Joel Miller in The Last of Us, Booker DeWitt in Bioshock Infinite, and Sam Drake in Uncharted, among many others.

Reddit user MixedMartialLaw recently shared a comparison of the two actors' work, prompting many players to comment on Baker's near-perfect recreation of Ford's performance. In a three-minute video, the original post juxtaposes similar lines from the Indiana Jones films and The Great Circle, allowing players to hear their tones, inflections, and pronunciations side by side.

In perhaps a surprise twist that no one saw coming, video game adaptations are not complete failures anymore. Yes, we'll always have our Netflix's Resident Evil or Paramount+ Halo, but there have also been some successes.

When making Sonic the Hedgehog 3, the pair joked that they recognized the similarities between Shadow and "a certain dark doppelganger from another superhero franchise part 3," referencing Spider-Man 3. They worried that there was a "curse involved" to third movies.

The length of time between the outbreak and Joel and Ellie’s story is a significant element of their tale. What happens at the beginning of the outbreak shapes Joel into who he is when he meets Ellie.

Ellie was born after the outbreak and only knows a world with infected. The viral outbreak happens mostly off-screen and society’s collapse occurs before Joel meets Ellie. HBO's The Last of Us flips the game's timeline, which begins in 2013 and then jumps to 2033 for the main story.

Troy Baker, who voiced and mo-capped Joel in the video game, plays James, the right-hand man of Bible-quoting cannibal David (Scott Shepherd). It might seem like a downgrade, but Baker was surprised to get even that substantive a part.

Speaking to Deadline about his experience on the series, Baker described how Naughty Dog co-president Neil Druckmann came to him with the part:
