The mystery celebrity dressed as Poodle on “The Masked Singer Australia” has been revealed.
The show’s judges — Mel B, Abbie Chatfield, Dave Hughes, and Chrissie Swan — were visibly shocked on Wednesday’s episode after “Beverly Hills, 90210” star Tori Spelling was unveiled as the woman inside the costume.
Chatfield had already guessed Spelling, but changed her answer to Kyle Richards.

Mel B, on the other hand, was convinced it was her fellow Spice Girl Emma Bunton behind the poodle mask.
The singer insisted, “Can I just say you had me, because I thought 100 per cent for real it was Baby Spice,” adding: “I swear to God, you sound like Emma Bunton! You do. You sound like a Spice Girl. You did!” the Daily Mail reported.

What’s your favourite Australian film of the last decade?
That’s one of the questions Aacta is putting to the general public over the coming week as voting opens for its new Audience Choice Awards.
In contention for the film award are: Peter Rabbit, Red Dog, The Sapphires, The Great Gatsby, The Water Diviner, The Dressmaker, Lion, Ride Like A Girl and Mad Max: Fury Road.
While many of those nominated correspond to the Academy’s own ‘Best Film’ winners over the past 10 years, there are some notable exclusions – 2016’s Hacksaw Ridge, 2018’s Sweet Country and 2019’s The Nightingale.
The Favourite TV Drama of The Decade category sees each broadcaster score two nods – bar Sbs, who were snubbed. They include 10’s Offspring and Neighbours, ABC’s Mystery Road and Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries, Foxtel’s Top of the Lake and Wentworth, Seven’s Molly and Home and Away,...

Production of two TV shows, Ten’s “Masked Singer” and Nine’s “Millionaire’s Hotseat” has been halted in Australia due to resurgence of the coronavirus. The two shows were both filming in different parts of the Docklands Studio in Melbourne, Victoria.
“Masked Singer” shut down on Saturday after seven members of the crew were revealed to have given positive tests for Covid-19. The presenters and production team has now been put into isolation. They include the show’s host Osher Gunsberg, singer Dannii Minogue and comedian Dave Hughes, who are both judges.
“The entire production team, including the masked singers, the host and panellists are now in self-isolation. They are all being monitored closely and are in constant contact with medical authorities. Network 10 is working closely with the Victorian Government and the Victorian Department of Health and Human Services. Much like the television networks and their re-runs before the season premieres, President Donald Trump was in a re-tweeting and re-quoting mood this weekend.
The Commander-in-Tweet had four re-tweets and several re-quotes on his Twitter agenda for Saturday. It was his rebuttal to a week that saw former President Barack Obama and an anonymously sourced editorial dominate the headlines.
Using his own pulpit, the President reminded his online following that there is another side to the unfolding story of his administration, as the empire struck back.

The Nine Network is channelling tens of millions of dollars freed up from the end of its output deal with Warner Bros. into a record investment in local content.
Spending on local production will continue to rise over the next three years to the point where the network invests $100 million more per year than currently, executives said at the upfronts presentation today.
While Nine retains the first-run rights to The Big Bang Theory, director of programming and production Andrew Backwell said the broadcaster decided to relinquish the re-runs (subsequently acquired by Seven) because it preferred to spend the money on local content.
The 2016 line-up includes the Matchbox Pictures drama Hide & Seek, Cjz.s previously announced two-part Alan Bond miniseries House of Bond and a new factual series, Prison: First & Last 24 Hours.

Comedian and film-maker Ed Kavalee is seeking a theatrical distributor for his second feature film Border Protection Squad, which takes aim at shows like Seven’s Border Security and the characters behind it.
Kavalee wrote and directed Border Protection Squad with producing duties shared between himself and Christian Clarke, who produced Scumbus, Nick Thompson and Rachel Millar.
Kavalee told Mumbrella’s sister title Encore: “The idea is what would happen if the guys who ran Border Security were more interested in the ratings than what actually came in and out of Australia.”
Last week Encore revealed that Kavalee’s first film Scumbus would be broadcast on Network Ten.
Kavalee said he hoped to talk to distributors about the opportunities of using Twitter to promote Border Protection Squad via his cast’s own followers. He said: “My question is going to be, ‘what’s the best way to get the most...

Ed Kavalee: writer, producer, actor of Scumbus
Network Ten has picked up first rights to a debut comedy feature by Ed Kavalee starring some of Australia’s best known comedians.
Scumbus is Kavalee’s first film, written, produced and funded by the comedian and directed by Luke Tierney.
The film, an idea of Kavalee’s and friend Josh Lawson, will be broadcast on Saturday 10 November at 9.30pm and later on Ten’s catch up service.
Kavalee told Encore: “It was conceived by myself and Josh Lawson before he got taken under the wing of Will Ferrell.”
“It was made for TV. No one is making comedy telemovies. So I thought let’s give this a go. Ten saw it, loved it and said they’d love to play it,” he said.

To Sydney’s Comedy Store and Ten’s storming showcase from the team on The Project.
And the loudest heckles came from an unlikely source – with The Biggest Loser trainer Michelle Bridges having apparently warmed up early for the event. At one point – when Tom Ballard showed off his pasty white belly – Bridges yelled out “Shit!” loudly enough to make The Project regular and Triple J morning presenter wince.
But Dave Hughes probably had the most honest line of the night, telling the audience: ‘Thank fuck The Voice has finished.”
But Charlie Pickering had the biggest confession, telling the audience that his dark secret since the show began is that at the end of each episode, he says goodnight, turns to his script and draws “a cock and balls”. He volunteered that it now comes so naturally, that on occasion he does it while maintaining eye contact with the night’s guest.

Dave Hughes has revealed that he finds parenthood very hard. The Australian comedian, who is best known for his role as one of the hosts of The Project, said that he respects his wife Holly Ife for taking care of their two children Rafferty and Sadie while he goes out to work. Hughes told The Age: "I swear to God, being at home with two kids is the hardest work as anything I've ever done. "When you get home and you've got an 11-month-old who is walking early, who is trying to kill herself every five seconds by putting something in her mouth or walking off the edge of a balcony - that is hard as well." Hughes added that he was not happy when Channel Ten decided to add an extra episode of The Project each week, making his schedule even more hectic. He said: "I remember where I...

Bickmore told the Sunday Herald Sun: "I used to sit next to [former colleague] Rove [McManus] and he would get up and get the Gold and I used to think that was such an honour. I never thought I'd ever get a nomination, so I'm just enjoying it." Titan Books provided the City of Films with a copy of David Hughes’ book “Tales From Development Hell: The Greatest Movies Never Made?”
Once in a great while I will come across a book that I can’t put down and end up finishing it over the course of hours or days, often forgetting to eat or sleep in the process. Luckily for me such a book recently took over my weekend and I’m here to share a review.
I don’t read a lot of fiction, just keeping to reference and guide books for the most part. My favorites of course are about films and filmmaking; Easy Riders, Raging Bulls, 1001 Movies You Must See Before You Die, and more recently Scorsese by Ebert are great examples. I’m happy to say Tales From Development Hell fits nicely into my criteria to be entertained and educated at the same time.

The Australian current affairs show, which is hosted by Dave Hughes, Carrie Bickmore and Charlie Pickering, was recently renamed and moved to an earlier timeslot in order to boost ratings, but was still beaten by Today Tonight, A Current Affair and the Seven and Nine Network news bulletins last night. The Project achieved less than half a million viewers, while all the rival programmes got audiences of over a million. However, Ten's programming chief David Mott said that they are pleased that The Project still gave the station a 22% audience increase in its 6pm to 7pm slot. Mott told (more)...

The Project will now air at 6pm on weeknights in Australia. Channel Ten bosses have reportedly decided that the current affairs chatshow - hosted by Dave Hughes, Carrie Bickmore and Charlie Pickering - should be shown earlier in order to appeal to a wider audience. According to the Herald Sun, chief of programming David Mott hopes that The Project will provide a lead-in to reality series The Biggest Loser and MasterChef and target a demographic of 18 to 49-year-olds. He said: "The Project is the perfect choice for a younger audience who still wants news, but not in the traditional sense." He also revealed that he was content with Ten's decision to axe George Negus's current affairs programme last year, saying: "I think it was a strong show and a good alternative (more)...

Organisers of the Adelaide Festival have joined the hordes of people against Melbourne Festival's plan to change dates. Melbourne Festival bosses want to hold their arts event in March instead of the usual October, which will cause clashes with other events in the Australian calendar. Adelaide Festival chief executive Kate Gould told the Herald Sun: "It would be better if they found another slot in the year. There are a number of festivals in that early part of the year in Australia." Organisers of the Melbourne Comedy Festival are especially upset about the date change. Comedians such as Dave Hughes and Wil Anderson said that they don't want the move to overlap with their event and have appealed to Arts Victoria to (more)...

A number of Australian comedians have started a protest against Melbourne Festival being rescheduled. Stars such as Dave Hughes, Wil Anderson and Charlie Pickering said that they are angry at the event organisers' decision to move the festival from October to February or March, meaning that it will be on during the same period as Melbourne International Comedy Festival. Melbourne Festival has cited the better weather in March as the main reason for rescheduling the event. Arts Victoria has now called a meeting today with representatives of 23 arts events and venues in the city to discuss the idea. Anderson told the Herald Sun: "They don't have the Afl Grand Final the same weekend as the Australian Open. It just doesn't make sense. It might be a good idea for the Melbourne Festival, but it's only going to hurt the Comedy Festival." (more)...

After being photographed by the hole, Hughes told listeners on his radio show: "I fell into this at 2pm yesterday afternoon in bright sunlight. Dave Hughes has revealed that he thought The 7pm Project would ruin his career. The 40-year-old Australian comedian, who joined the panel for the daily comedy news show when it premiered in 2009, admitted that he and his co-stars Carrie Bickmore and Charlie Pickering aren't "breaking any records" with ratings. Hughes told National Features: "My manager rang me three months before the show started and told me about the concept. He said Channel Ten was going to back it in [but] I was wary of it [thinking], 'can that work?' "On the first night, every time I opened my mouth I thought I was ruining my career. We were coming off the back of MasterChef Australia, being at seven o'clock, so there were unrealistic expectations." > Dave Hughes becomes dad for second time

The 36-year-old from New South Wales, who beat fellow finalist Michael Weldon in a three-part challenge to be crowned the winner of the cooking reality television show on Sunday night, said that she didn't want to be too "corny". Bracks told Dave Hughes on his radio show: "[I considered mentioning God] but then I thought, everyone then goes, 'Oh great, it just sounds like the Logies.' It sounds corny and that is not the type of Christian I am." She also said despite the fact that she is "always talking to God", she didn't "actually pray" to help her win MasterChef because she thinks that God probably has better things to do.
