Last year, Final Destination 6 (which is going by the title Final Destination: Bloodlines) finally, after years of development and a thirteen year gap between sequels, made its way through production. Franchise producer Craig Perry previously let it be known that the film was aiming for a theatrical release in 2025 – in time to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the release of the original film. It will even be on IMAX screens! Last month, it was confirmed that Final Destination: Bloodlines is set to reach theatres on May 16, 2025. The project is still on track for that release date, as composer Tim Wynn has taken to social media to reveal that his work on the film is done – and in the process, he also revealed the title logo!

The best America Ferrera movies and TV shows highlight why the Ugly Betty star is so highly regarded outside the realm of sitcoms and quirky comedy - and also show why she’s so deserving of her status as a multi-award-winning actor. Born in California in 1983, America Ferrera started her career in 2002, jumping straight into a lead role in the comedy-drama Real Women Have Curves and the Disney Channel original Gotta Kick It Up.
The momentum from this strong start never waned, and within a few years, America Ferrera would find herself becoming a household name thanks to taking the lead role in the highly successful sitcom Ugly Betty. However, while playing Betty Suarez was a career-defining performance, it’s far from the only celebrated performance from the actor - nor is it the best America Ferrera movie or TV show.

The comedy genre has been under attack for quite some time now as the studios have stopped making mid-budget comedy movies and refocused all their attention on big-budget blockbusters. Amidst all this, a niche sub-genre in comedy, like raunchy comedy films, has been forgotten. If it’s not a classic like American Pie or Road Trip, people don’t even remember most of the fantastic raunchy comedies that came out. So, we compiled a list of the best underrated raunchy comedies you might have missed out on.

Sydney Sweeney has been steadily acting for over 15 years, but her big break, arguably, did not come until 2019’s Euphoria. Like Euphoria, many of Sweeney’s early roles in her career have been on television, but she has expanded into movies as well with blockbusters like Once Upon A Time In Hollywood, horror like Immaculate, and rom-coms like Anyone But You.
Sweeney might have a reputation for appearing like a classic blonde bombshell, but she appears in movies and TV projects as more than simply a sex symbol. Her roles have been varied, even if they are not always as well received, like 2024’s Madame Web, her first foray into the superhero genre. Sweeney has more than demonstrated that she has a well of emotion to tap into and a great grasp of the characters she plays. These are Sydney Sweeney’s best movie and TV roles in her...

In terms of a feel-good cinematic moment that lives long in the audience's memory, there are few scenes that can top a movie moment where reinforcements arrive at the last minute; a technique that has been used by some of the best movies of all time. Providing a welcome reprieve out of left field just when all appears to be lost, these uplifting sequences conjure up a happy ending in circumstances where such a conclusion didn't even seem like a possibility just mere seconds earlier.
From powerful heroes unexpectedly arriving on the scene of a blockbuster showdown to army reinforcements showing up to save the day just as the battle appears lost, this technique has been implemented to great effect by an array of genres, from the best superhero movies all the way to the finest war movies of all time. While such unashamedly feel-good scenes inevitably attract allegations of cheesy filmmaking,...

It’s not uncommon to see the same actor playing several different roles at the same time, especially on TV shows.
Shawn Hatosy has a role on Rescue: Hi-Surf but is also a recurring face on Chicago Pd. Both roles portray Hatosy as an entitled white male in charge who’s not afraid to bend the rules to get his way.
It’s not the first time Hatosy has taken on roles that depict him negatively. He’s one of those actors who is great at playing a jerky bad guy. However, he also has numerous memorable characteristics as an okay guy.
(Lori Allen/NBC)
Hatosy fans from the ’90s might remember him from his early days when he took on awkward teen roles to expand his filmography.

Exclusive: David Dastmalchian (Late Night with the Devil), Ashley Greene (Twilight), and newcomer Samantha Cochran will topline The Cure, a horror thriller from director Nancy Leopardi that has wrapped production in Los Angeles.
Written by Jonathan Bernstein and James Greer, who penned Steven Soderbergh’s Unsane, the film centers on Cochran’s Ally Braun, an adopted 16-year-old with a mysterious illness who learns her bio-tech billionaire parents (Dastmalchian and Greene) are harvesting her blood for nefarious purposes.
In a statement to Deadline, Leopardi called the film “a satirical take on the modern billionaire class cloaked in a crowd-pleasing thriller,” adding, “The Cure is made in the tradition of classic horror and sci-fi films that are inspired by terrifying socio-political realities and advances in bio-technology. Like Ex-Machina, A.I., and Videodrome I believe we are on the cusp of a revolution in science and the big question is – who will benefit?”

“Dead Money” is a thrilling story set in the high-stakes world of underground poker. It combines the suspense of gambling with the mystery of crime. The film, which came out in 2024, is about a professional poker player named Andy (Emile Hirsch) whose life becomes very dangerous after a fairly normal game in the back room goes wrong.
The film, written and directed by Josh Wilcox, examines the very thin line between taking a measured risk and being desperate. Walpole builds a story around Andy, a skilled but suffering poker player who is in a lot of debt and always looking for that one big win that will make everything better. When Jack’s (David Keith) home poker game is taken, Andy finds a chance that he didn’t expect, which starts a dangerous chain of events.
The film’s diverse cast gives this high-wire act of a story more depth.

Stephen King often takes to Twitter (I'm never going to call it that other thing) to give us timely movie and series recommendations, highlight under-the-radar gems, or simply express the joy of reading a good book. As one of the world's greatest authors, King intimately understands the inner workings of the horror genre, including themes that work best to provoke the human imagination and induce anxiety with the help of a sustained suspension of disbelief. The writer's horror-related recommendations have always been top notch; a few years back, King praised a 2016 supernatural horror film on Twitter and advised us to not watch it alone:
"The Autopsy Of Jane Doe: Visceral horror to rival Alien and early Cronenberg. Watch it, but not alone."
He's right. André Øvredal's "The Autopsy of Jane Doe," which we reviewed upon release, understands that the gnarliest kind of horror lies in the unraveling of a simple premise,...

Deadpool & Wolverine director Shawn Levy was celebrated on Thursday not for having one of the biggest movies of the year, but for his philanthropy alongside wife Serena.
The couple were honored at the A Sense of Home Gala, benefitting the non-profit that aims to prevent homelessness by creating first-ever homes and a community for youth aging out of foster care. Ted Sarandos and Nicole Avant hosted the event at their Los Angeles home, with a guest list that included Jason Bateman, Tobey Maguire, Edward Norton, Michelle Rodriguez, Terry Crews, Emile Hirsch, Scott Stuber and Molly Sims, Mayor Karen Bass and L.A. County Supervisor Holly Mitchell.
“We both got interested in the work that was being done when we started thinking about the connection between aged-out foster youth and homelessness in this city — a complicated problem with a seemingly simple answer,” Sarandos said of himself and Avant during the event.

To the joy of Batman fans who absolutely hate Batman, this weekend we’re getting a sequel to 2019’s Joker, starring Joaquin Phoenix as the Clown Prince of Crime Incels, and Lady Gaga as Harley Quinn. The first movie made over a billion dollars at the box office, but from the sounds of it, Joker: Folie à Deux (not to be confused with Hot Shots! Part Deux), won’t come close to that.
A big reason why the movie’s box office take is expected to be so paltry is that this movie is a musical, and likely won’t appeal to viewers who loved the “Scorsese karaoke cover” vibe of the original.
This baffling, possibly self-defeating take on the material isn’t all that surprising if you’re familiar with the work of Todd Phillips, a guy who began his career with a documentary that was funded through the...

Emile Hirsch isn’t mincing words when it comes to his scrapped John Belushi biopic.
Back in 2013, Hirsch was cast to portray the late comedian and “Saturday Night Live” star. However, the lack of funding led to the project falling apart.
Now, Hirsch is revealing the misguided advice he claims the director gave him before the film was even greenlit.
“I was a little bit torn [about signing on],” Hirsch said during THR‘s “It Happened in Hollywood” podcast. “I had a conversation with the director at one point, and he was talking about the weight gain. The Texas actor played the son of Cordell Walker (Padalecki) over four seasons. As a child actor, Culley’s first gig was in 6 Below: Miracle on the Mountain, the sports thriller that starred Josh Hartnett and Mira Sorvino.
That was followed by roles in the CBS family drama Me, Myself and I and working alongside director Matthew Weiner and Diane Lane in Amazon’s The Romanoffs. He also portrayed Little Will in Peel, opposite Emile Hirsch.
Culley’s other TV credits include guest roles on NCIS, Black-ish, Sydney to the Max and Fresh Off the Boat. New to the series regular game, Culley played August Walker until CW cancelled the series.

Would you gain 100 pounds in the hopes of landing a role?
That was the career conundrum faced by Emile Hirsch, who joined THR‘s It Happened in Hollywood podcast to relive the making of his 2007 breakout film, Into the Wild.
But another film — a planned biopic of comedian John Belushi, in which Hirsch was chosen to play the early Saturday Night Live star — came up in conversation.

“I was a little bit torn [about signing on],” Hirsch, 39, recalls. “I had a conversation with the director at one point, and he was talking about the weight gain. This is how stupid this guy was: He was like, ‘Just gain the weight and then we’ll make the movie.’
“And I’m like, ‘Gain the weight and then we’ll make the movie?...

“All a good player wants is profit,” says Andy (Emile Hirsch) at the start of Luc Walpoth’s gritty little poker thriller. He explains, in voiceover, how it really all comes down to calculations, to maths – and, of course, the human factor. He’s proud of his professionalism, of his sensible approach, his resistance to temptation. But Andy is full of shit. Just a few minutes into the film, in the course of his evening game, he’s making a bet that he can stay conscious if punched directly in the head.
This and a habit of making similarly impulsive decisions suggests that Andy is not the type to stay out of trouble for long. Like most serious gamblers, he’s trying to pay off debts. His girlfriend Chloe (India Eisley) tries to protect him but is under no illusions. There’s little either of them can do to protect themselves when that game is.

India Eisley and Emile Hirsch in Dead Money
Opening in US cinemas this weekend, Dead Money is the latest film starring Emile Hirsch, whose combination of Hollywood hits and gutsy independent thrillers has won him an extensive fan following. Here, he plays Andy, a small time professional poker player who, together with girlfriend Chloe (India Eisley), finds himself in deep water after helping himself to a large sum of money belonging to a gang who stole from him. It’s a film which was personally interesting to the actor because, as he explains when he meet, he plays a bit of poker himself.
“I would say I had a loose interest in poker before the movie,” he says. “I was a terrible player. I would lose and just quit for years at a time. And so when I got the script, I was sort of like, ‘This could be a way to play again.

The autopsy in The Autopsy of Jane Doe Autopsy reveals dark secrets of Jane Doe's past, intertwined with Salem witch trials history. Andr vredal crafts a smart thriller with art-house horror vibes and jump scares, though the thematic depth of The Autopsy of Jane Doe is just as impressive. Jane Doe's powers emerge from brutal torture, seeking revenge on those who wronged her.
The 2016 supernatural horror film The Autopsy of Jane Doe explained the story of one of the most complex witches in horror history. The film also marks Norwegian filmmaker Andr vredals first English language film, following his breakout in Trollhunter. Starring Emile Hirsch and Brian Cox as Austin and Tommy Tilden, the father-son coroner duo is tasked with autopsying the body of an unknown woman. This woman, only known as Jane Doe, soon opened the coroners to great horrors.

For ten years, we as moviegoers were treated to both the rise and fall of the DC Extended Universe, or Decu for short (read our rankings here). The rise began with the release of Man of Steel in 2013, directed by Zack Snyder, marking the start of an ambitious plan to create a shared cinematic universe featuring iconic DC Comics characters. This was followed by Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Suicide Squad which expanded the universe and introduced key characters. They were both met with less-than-stellar reviews. Over the years we would see success like Wonder Woman, Aquaman and Shazam as well as James Gunn’s brilliant take on The Suicide Squad. There were also mixed-reviewed films like Justice League, Wonder Woman 1984, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom and The Flash (which we loved). The Dceu couldn’t compete with Marvel with tons of these movies failing to connect with critics and audiences.

There’s no denying that 2008’s Speed Racer has developed a faithful cult following in the 15+ years since its release. And as far as the Wachowskis filmography does, it’s definitely one of the most mind blowing — visually speaking, at least. But does it rank up there with The Matrix? According to Speed Racer himself, Emile Hirsch, it’s not even a close contest – and you know which one he’s favoring.
Emile Hirsch took to social media this week to heap just about the highest praise he could on his movie, writing, “Just look up “why Speed Racer is a masterpiece” on YouTube and there’s like a thousand videos. A thousand articles written as well. Can we finally just declare that Speed Racer > The Matrix?”

An underrated anime adaptation and cult classic, the 2008 Speed Racer movie captures the essence of the source material. Despite being a box office flop, Speed Racer boasts thrilling action sequences, pitch-perfect campy humor, and spot-on casting. An ahead-of-its-time live-action anime adaptation, Speed Racer deserves a rewatch in the era of Netflix's One Piece.
Sixteen years after the release of the Wachowskis' Speed Racer zoomed into theaters, I'm still amazed by the anime adaptation's status as a severely underrated movie. Based on Tatsuo Yoshida's manga series of the same name, 2008's Speed Racer also takes cues from the hugely popular anime of the mid-60s. One of the first anime to become successful in the US, Speed Racer in all its iterations, including the Wachowskis' movie features a titular protagonist defined by his love of high-speed racing, his high-tech and high-speed Mach 5 car, and his family.

At the start of March, an image cinematographer Christian Sebaldt shared on Instagram revealed that Final Destination 6 (which is going by the title Final Destination: Bloodlines) was finally, after years of development and a thirteen year gap between sequels, heading into production. Then franchise producer Craig Perry took to social media to confirm that Final Destination: Bloodlines was indeed filming, the aim being to get this one into theatres in 2025 – in time to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the release of the original film. It will even be on IMAX screens! Filming wrapped in May, so we figured this would be a good time to compile a list of Everything We Know About Final Destination 6.

In the early moments of the 2007 movie Into the Wild, Emile Hirsch, in the role of 24-year-old adventurer Christopher McCandless, is walking alone in knee-deep snow when he stumbles upon an astounding sight, what McCandless would come to call “the magic bus.” The rusty, green-and-white Fairbanks City Transit System bus, abandoned in a remote area of central Alaska, would become McCandless’ makeshift shelter in the wilderness for over 100 days, the site of his death by starvation in the summer of 1992 and, eventually, a dangerous destination for hikers looking to replicate McCandless’ journey.

Your browser does not support the video tag. World War II movies often take artistic liberties with historical events, but some films strive to maintain a high degree of accuracy. Films like Saving Private Ryan and Hacksaw Ridge offer gripping stories while accurately depicting the harrowing realities of war. Dunkirk and Tora! Tora! Tora! provide faithful portrayals of historical events from multiple perspectives, while Downfall delves into the complexities of Adolf Hitler's final days.
Plenty of World War II movies take artistic liberties when recounting their true stories, either to enhance drama or because they are only interested in using historical events as a backdrop for their fictional narratives, but some are historically accurate. Plenty of World War II movies take artistic liberties when recounting their true stories, either to enhance drama or because they are only interested in using historical events as a backdrop for their fictional narratives, but some are historically accurate. Since the release of Quentin Tarantino’s revisionist Western thriller The Hateful Eight in 2015, fans had been eagerly awaiting the director’s next project for a torturous four years. Once Upon a Time in Hollywood (2019), his grandiose crime drama delves into the relationship between the Manson family murders and a fictional TV actor (& his stunt double).
It is not merely a film; it’s Tarantino’s cinematic celebration of an era—a star-studded tableau that emphatically stakes its claim as one of 2019’s best displays of acting talent. Under the skillful direction of casting director Victoria Thomas, whose ability to bring the fabled talents of Brad Pitt and Leonardo DiCaprio together to create a screen sensation, the cast of the movie was more brilliant than ever.

Two works from the early queer literary canon will see audiobook release this June, narrated by actor Emile Hirsch.
Both were authored by Fritz Peters, an overlooked trailblazer in the 1950s who wrote frank and intimate depictions of homosexuality, spirituality and mental health struggles. The books are the novel “Finistère” and the memoir “Boyhood With Gurdjieff,” hitting audio platforms in time for global pride celebrations.
The recordings mark Hirsch’s first in the space, save voicing a character in “Trollhunters: Rise of the Titans,” the animated film from Guillermo del Toro. Known for films like “Into the Wild” and “Milk,” he will next appear in the holocaust film “‘Bau, Artist at War.”
Despite selling big in his time, Peters’ catalogue had fallen into relative obscurity compared to literati peers like Gore Vidal, Henry Miller and Eudora Welty. Production company Hirsch Giovanni acquired the author’s complete works two years ago and serve as re-release publishers.

Despite what you may think, Memorial Day isn’t just a day off work or an occasion for a good storewide mattress sale. The ostensible purpose of this federal holiday, of course, is to remember the sacrifice of those who have died while serving in our country’s five armed services branches: the Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marine Corps and Navy—all of which continue to suffer great losses performing their duties around the globe.
The experiences of servicemen and servicewomen have served as the basis of countless movies and TV shows over the years, in all sorts of different forms. But the most powerful of these are the ones based upon actual journalistic accounts from real-life soldiers. So in advance of Memorial Day on Monday, here are five military-themed indies we love…

AnnaSophia’s Perspective on Height and Perception
“Everyone always says that guys are intimidated by me,” she told Teen Vogue in 2013, “but I seriously doubt it. I mean, I’m five-foot-nothing!”
“I think I must make a stank face,” she joked. “I loved high school,” AnnaSophia added.
“Everyone always asks me if the other kids treated me differently because of my career, but they didn’t. If you act weird, people are going to treat you weird, but if you’re just yourself, people respond to that.
