- A familiar character actress, Marianna Hill is the daughter of a building contractor. From her native southern California, her family moved around frequently, including to Canada, Spain and Great Britain. As a result, she became familiar with different accents and dialects, whether a French accent (for a guest appearance on My Three Sons (1960), or German Hogan's Heroes (1965). She started acting while a teenager, apprenticing at the La Jolla (Calif.) Playhouse, and also studied at the Neighborhood Playhouse in New York City. Marianna's exotic looks enabled her to portray a variety of types, including a Hawaiian girl, an Irish lass and Greek beauty. She has also been an acting coach and teacher at the Lee Strasberg Institute in London.- IMDb Mini Biography By: Ken Severson (fixed by U.N. Owen)

- [how she ended up playing women of different ethnic backgrounds] I always played people who were ethnic because I have some Native American blood in me. I have an unusual kind of look about me where people always think I'm some sort of person that comes from an ethnic background. And also Walter Kohner, and his brother Paul Kohner of the Kohner Agency, handled all the big European stars. So, naturally, if you were with them, it was thought that you were probably an ethnic type of person.
- [leading a healthy, moral life in Hollywood] I had gone to school with nuns in the convent who drilled some moral fiber and infrastructure into me. Luckily I didn't get into the thick of it all like a lot of young girls did, so I didn't become a narcissistic delusional person lost in Hollywoodland. I didn't do drugs and I didn't drink and I didn't smoke because I was too busy trying to work. I knew that I had to do that from the time I was around 8 years old. I had a work ethic from a young age and it came from outer space.
- [why she performed nude in Medium Cool (1969)] Well, here's the deal: It wasn't planned. But Haskell was such a lovely man and I knew he couldn't cause me any harm. I would never have done that for anybody else, but he was so interested in getting to the truth of a matter, and it was really his story. It was the story of him. He said, 'Marianna, I'm going to pull this sheet off you' and I said, 'For you, I'll do this. But that's it. Nobody else.'
