Starting March 6th, Netflix UK will be one of the streaming homes of Snatch, the relatively short-lived British comedy-drama series starring Rupert Grint (Harry Potter), Luke Pasqualino (Battlestar Gallactica: Blood & Chrome), Lucien Laviscourt (The Bye Bye Man), Marc Warren (Wanted), Stephanie Leonidas (American Gothic), and Phoebe Dynevor (Bridgerton).
Based on the Guy Ritchie movie of the same name released in 2000, the series ran for two seasons in 2017 and 2018, with 20 episodes. The show follows young scammers who inadvertently find themselves with a truck loaded with stolen gold bullion and up to their neck in the underworld of crime. Little Island Productions and Sony Pictures Television are behind the show with the latter distributing.
A third season of the show was never commissioned, but it doesn’t look like it was publicly canceled, either.

Known for portraying the role of Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter franchise, Emma Watson has been quite candid in discussing the awkwardness of filming romantic scenes with her co-stars, Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint, in the final two installments of the franchise.

While both experiences were uncomfortable to some extent due to their close, sibling-like bond, Watson later admitted that one scene was noticeably less awkward than the other.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 caught many fans off guard with the unexpected and intense kissing scene between Hermione and Harry, a vision triggered by one of Voldemort’s Horcruxes as Ron struggles with jealousy over their closeness.

When I first started watching the Harry Potter films, I was barely a 5 to 6-year-old kid, blissfully unaware of how cinematic adaptations often butcher beloved books. Back then, I watched the movies assuming they were gospel. But then something shifted, I picked up J.K. Rowling’s novels and there was no end to my disappointment.

Now, it’s been over two decades and I still can’t forgive how the movies ruined the characters—especially Ron Weasley’s. One of the biggest betrayals happened in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (2002) where they erased one of Ron’s most intelligent moments. The films reduced him to comic relief when, in reality, book Ron had brains, wit, and a knack for wizarding world trivia.

Have you ever wondered about the middle name of your favorite Hollywood stars? While some celebrities go by their stage name, some of them use their middle name as the first name. In many cases, they remove their middle names entirely and it becomes a mystery to the fans.

The middle name of a person is mostly unspoken but it remains with you throughout. Unless you are filling an official form, the middle name is not used much. Unofficially, middle names are more casual and creative. Some parents go to an extent to give their child as many middle names as possible.

Tim Roth As Severus Snape (Photo Credit – Wikimedia/Instagram)
The role of Severus Snape in the Harry Potter film series is so closely tied to Alan Rickman’s unforgettable portrayal that it’s hard to imagine anyone else in the part.
However, before Rickman donned the flowing black robes, the role was actually offered to another acclaimed British actor, Tim Roth.

The Harry Potter franchise is a pop culture phenomenon. The movies are some of the most popular ever created. Everyone can't get enough of the Wizarding World, so much that HBO is developing its own Harry Potter TV series, starting from the ground up with an entirely new cast. HBO has set a 10-year commitment to faithfully adapting all seven novels by J.K. Rowling.
Naturally, everyone is curious as to whether any of the cast from the original Harry Potter movies are keen to get involved. Obviously, as many of them were child actors, it'd be untenable for them to reprise their original roles. A few cast members have indicated that they'd be interested in returning. For instance, Bonnie Wright (Ginny Weasley) is on record of saying she's "open" to the prospect of making some sort of appearance.
HBO show aside, fans of the original movies have always pondered whether...

The new track is also making history. This is the first time Punjabi music is making its way into a Hollywood animated movie and turning up the volume on South Asian representation! Jason Isaacs admits that the process of filming the Harry Potter movies was actually “quite boring.”
During a recent interview on BBC’s The One Show, the actor looked back at playing Lucius Malfoy in six of the eight blockbuster films, which starred Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint.
“It’s a terrible confession to make, they weren’t that much fun to make. It’s quite boring, making big special effects films,” he said. However, it’s what came after the movies that was most memorable.
“The pleasures all come afterwards,” Isaacs explained. “I see and meet people for whom their lives were changed by it, and still people reading it and sharing it with their children. Some people say their lives were saved by it and I believe it”.
He continued, “There’s something [that] happened — who knows why — when those ingredients came together and the souffle rose...

Dave Bautista’s Rom-Com Dream! (Photo Credit – Instagram)
Dave Bautista wants to star in a rom-com. No explosions, no apocalyptic threats — just love, laughs, and maybe a slow-motion run through the rain. But Hollywood doesn’t seem to be calling, and he’s starting to wonder why.
“I know I’m not your typical rom-com lead,” he admitted at the Knock at the Cabin premiere in New York City. “I’m a little rough around the edges. But I always, you know, I look in the mirror and I say, I ask myself, ‘Am I that unattractive? Is there something that unappealing about me that excludes me from these parts?’”
The man has played an intergalactic warrior, a deadly spy, and a literal apocalypse-bringer. But a charming bookshop owner who falls for an equally quirky co-star? Not yet. “I don’t know. It’s just never come my way,” he said.

Harry Potter took over a huge part of my childhood much like other pop culture fanatics. Although it was middle school when I first got a glimpse of Hogwarts’ magical halls, the school and its students have more than made up for lost time by occupying my mind ever since.

There are a lot of reasons why "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" is one of the more controversial movies in the series (although it performed pretty well in /Film's official ranking of the franchise.) It's a film that struggles hard to fit its 750+ page source material into a single movie, and it's the one where Ron comes off looking like a total jerk. One of the biggest complaints, however, is something far more petty: what's going on with the hair?
Almost every male character in this movie has long hair for seemingly no reason. It would be one thing if it was just Harry, whose book counterpart had a well-documented tendency towards long messy hair, but why Ron? Why Neville? Why the Weasley twins? (Only Seamus and Dean were spared from the trend.) And more importantly, why don't they have hair this long in any other movie? "Goblet...

When the first "Harry Potter" film released in 2001, director Chris Columbus, then best known for "Home Alone," introduced the word to Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, and Emma Watson as Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, and Hermione Granger and placed them in the wizarding world beloved by fans of the book series. So why did Columbus direct the first movie, "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" (or "Philosopher's Stone" if you're outside of the United States), follow it up with "Chamber of Secrets," and then leave the franchise as a director? Getting an invitation to Hogwarts is a Harry Potter fan's dream. The idea of playing Quidditch, riding a hippogriff, and practicing wand skills during a Defense Against the Dark Arts class sounds like a blast. Visions of such moments danced in the heads of readers for a few years until the series took to the big screen in the early 2000s, beginning with 2001's "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone." Just like the books, the films took off, creating a film franchise of massive proportions and launching the careers of Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, and Emma Watson. Of course, it was a prediction that many could have guessed based on literary success.

A lot of stuff got left on the cutting room floor when Warner Bros. started adapting the "Harry Potter" books into blockbuster movies, the first of which, "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" (or "Philosopher's Stone" if you don't live in the United States), hit theaters in November 2001. This was followed by the release of "Chamber of Secrets" in 2002, and when the third novel, "Prisoner of Azkaban," was adapted two years later, fans of the books were probably excited to learn a little more about the backstory of Harry's (played by Daniel Radcliffe in the films) father, James Potter (played by Adrian Rawlins as an adult in the films), whose death, along with that of his wife and Harry's mother Lily (played by Geraldine Somerville as an adult in the films), sets Harry's story in motion before the narrative even begins. Those fans would have been bitterly disappointed, though!

If you ask the average Potterhead what their favorite "Harry Potter" movie is, there's a decent chance they'll say "Prisoner of Azkaban." That's the Alfonso Cuaron-directed one where the cinematography's amazing and everyone's hair looks their best. If you ask them about their least favorite "Potter" movie, they might say "Goblet of Fire." That's the one that tries and fails to cram as much of the 700+ page source material into a single movie, plus it's the one where nobody got a haircut.
If not "Goblet of Fire," fans might pick "Half-Blood Prince," the movie that plays it fast and loose with its source material. They also might pick "Deathly Hallows: Part 1," accusing it of feeling like half a story. But according to IMDb at least, there's one clear reigning loser amongst the "Harry Potter" films, and that's the second one: "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets."

HBO is currently casting a TV show based on the Harry Potter books by J.K. Rowling, with the intention of adapting them in more detail than the popular movies did. Do I really have to tell you what the Harry Potter books are about? There's a kid named Harry. He lives in a cupboard under the stairs in the home of his abusive aunt and uncle. He learns he's a wizard and is whisked away to learn his craft at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, where he learns about magic, love and friendship.
The Harry Potter movies starred Daniel Radcliffe as Harry and Emma Watson and Rupert Grint as Harry's friends Hermione and Ron. We've heard that HBO has found a new trio of kids to play these roles, but we don't know their names yet. But we have heard plenty about the adult characters. The latest news comes from Deadline,...

HBO is working on a TV series based on the Harry Potter books by J.K. Rowling, with plans to adapt roughly one book per season. We've heard a lot about who might play who, but so far nothing solid on the three most important characters in the series: boy wizard Harry Potter, and his two best friends Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger.
And we still haven't heard anything solid, but Hollywood gossip monger Daniel Richtman has revealed on his Patreon that, according to what he's heard, three kids have been found to play these three crucial roles. As expected, they're young, unknown actors. Richtman couldn't get their names.
Richtman trades in Hollywood rumors and secrets, but we should caution that without confirmation, this rumor is just that: a rumor. That said, it wouldn't surprise me if HBO had found its Golden Trio by this point. The search for actors to play Harry,...

I completely understand that adapting a beloved book series for the big screen is a difficult and precarious task, especially when you're talking about the "Harry Potter" novels written by Joanne Kathleen Rowling. The seven books, which span a couple thousand pages and covers the life of the boy wizard named Harry Potter (played in the film franchise by Daniel Radcliffe), are massive and chock-full of lore, building the Wizarding World brick by brick and introducing everything from wand types to wizarding currency to magical slang. When it comes to the film adaptations, which were helmed by a collection of directors, the creative team did a pretty phenomenal job for the most part ... but one huge issue is the character of Ginny Weasley, played by Bonnie Wright.
I don't want to speak ill of Wright, but the bottom line here is that the young actor — who appears in all eight movies as Ginny,...

The enchanting world of Harry Potter transported us all to a different realm and the journey of an unassuming boy to a legendary wizard inspired millions. But the real wizardry was done by J.K. Rowling, the mastermind who crafted this universe with such rich details.

Let’s cut to the chase—are we ever getting a Harry Potter and the Cursed Child movie? Short answer: Probably not. But that hasn’t stopped the rumors from popping up every few months.
Fans have been speculating about this for years, hoping the Wizarding World magic could continue with a big-screen adaptation of the Cursed Child play. And while there’s plenty of excitement (and frustration) about the idea, the truth is far less magical.

Ever since the Harry Potter movies ended in 2011, fans have been craving more. Sure, we got the Fantastic Beasts series, but (if truth be told), it didn’t hit the same. Then came the Cursed Child play, which gave us a look at Harry, Ron, and Hermione as adults—but only on stage.
The idea of turning it into a movie has been floating around for years.

The legend behind the conception of Harry Potter often deserves its own literary saga. J.K. Rowling’s deeply personal history with the fictional character makes for a wonderful story even beyond the books. However, most of it is either lost to time or is tucked away in the recesses of the author’s memories from her early days while trying to make it as a single mother.

Update: Variety reports that a federal jury ruled unanimously in favor of M. Night Shyamalan and Apple in the copyright lawsuit filed against them by The Truth About Emanuel writer/director Francesca Gregorini. While testifying last Wednesday, Shyamalan said that neither he nor anyone else involved with Servant had seen or heard about The Truth About Emanuel before Gregorini filed the lawsuit. After saying this was all “clearly, 100%, a misunderstanding,” Shyamalan added, “This accusation is the exact opposite of everything I do and everything I try to represent. I would have never allowed it. None of the people that I work with would ever do anything like that.“

Not every villain in the "Harry Potter" franchise is an evil Death Eater — or, in "Muggle" terms, a follower of the evil Dark Lord Voldemort (played by Ralph Fiennes in the films). Take Dolores Umbridge (Imelda Staunton), for example, who first shows up in "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix" as a Ministry of Magic plant who comes to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry ostensibly to teach Defense Against the Dark Arts ... but who's really there to spy on and censor the leadership of Hogwarts headmaster Albus Dumbledore (Michael Gambon). Umbridge is unquestionably vile and evil, and as series author Joanne Kathleen Rowling explained in the Harry Potter encyclopedia Wizarding World, the character is firmly meant to show that "good" and "evil" aren't always what they seem.

When Harry Potter (Daniel Radcliffe) first arrived at Hogwarts School for Witchcraft and Wizardry in "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" (2001), he learned pretty quickly that there were cliques, just like in a regular British boarding school. Notably, he met the sour-tempered Draco Malfoy (Tom Felton), very clearly one of Hogwarts' aspiring bullies. Draco mocked the timid Ron Weasley (Rupert Grint), immediately alienating Harry. Throughout the following films in the "Harry Potter" series, Draco would become worse and worse, moving from mere bullying to becoming a soldier for the evil Lord Voldemort (Ralph Fiennes), who fought against the notion of allowing "tainted blood" into the world's wizard schools.
For most of the "Harry Potter" films, Draco was joined by a pair of sniveling sidekicks named Crabbe and Goyle. The shorter Crabbe was played by Jamie Waylett, and the taller Goyle was played by Josh Herdman. Crabbe and Goyle were always causing small headaches for Harry,...

There's no shortage of mysterious magical objects in the "Harry Potter" universe, but one of the items that's most frequently wielded and utilized by Harry Potter himself (played by Daniel Radcliffe in the film franchise) is the Cloak of Invisibility, which — true to its name — allows Harry to disappear beneath it any time he needs to move discreetly throughout Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. In the final book (and final two-part movie), "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows," the Cloak comes in handy as Harry and his two best friends Ron Weasley (Rupert Grint) and Hermione Granger (Emma Watson) travel the wizarding world to find Voldemort's (Ralph Fiennes) Horcruxes — magical items containing pieces of the Dark Lord's very soul — and destroy them. So what's the deal with the Cloak?
It's never fully explained how the Cloak functions, but that's not what's important here.

Chris Columbus, the director who set the tone for the Harry Potter film franchise with Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone and Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, has given a glowing endorsement to HBO’s upcoming Harry Potter television adaptation. Speaking to People, Columbus called the project "a spectacular idea" and highlighted the unique opportunities a serialized format offers compared to feature films.
"Our film was two hours and 40 minutes, and the second one was almost as long," Columbus reflected. "We tried to get as much of the book in as possible, but there’s a certain restriction when you’re making a film." He emphasized that with the TV series, there’s “the leisure of multiple episodes for each book,” allowing for the inclusion of scenes and details that couldn’t make it into the original films.

In the "Harry Potter" movies, the binary of "good" and "evil" is illustrated pretty well by Harry himself — played by Daniel Radcliffe — and his lifelong enemy Lord Voldemort. Still, Harry has plenty of minor villains to deal with along the way, and one is his schoolboy nemesis Draco Malfoy, portrayed throughout the franchise's eight movies by Tom Felton. So would Felton and Radcliffe work together again? According to Felton, they've chatted about it a bit, but there would be a bit of a twist if the two ever teamed up for a different project.
In an interview with Digital Spy in May of 2022, Felton was asked about any possible reunions with any of his "Harry Potter" co-stars, and he said he'd leap at the chance to work alongside Radcliffe in particular. Throughout the "Harry Potter" books and movies — the original ones, not the "Fantastic Beasts" franchise — there are plenty of mysteries scattered around for both the audience and Harry (Daniel Radcliffe) himself to solve. In fact, if you take each installment one by one, they're basically all mystery books. Who's after the titular Stone in "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone?" Who is the real Heir of Slytherin in "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets?" Why is alleged murderer Sirius Black (Gary Oldman) hellbent on finding Harry at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban?" Who put Harry's name in the Goblet of Fire in, well, "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire?" I don't need to go on — you get it. You're smart.

Harry, Hermione and Ron might've got a cauldron full of house points for Gryffindor over the years, but they only managed to get one film onto IMDb's Top 250 list, and it might not be the one you're thinking of. In the pantheon of "Harry Potter" films that saw Daniel Radcliffe's orphan and number one horcrux in the side of He Who Must Not Be Named aka Voldemort (Ralph Fiennes), there are plenty to great watches to choose from. Some that might not have aged as well as others and some that might sit lower down the list, but they have a handful of memorable moments regardless. However, according to IMDb's users, it's the latter half of the final chapter in the "Harry Potter" franchise, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2," that deserves a slot among the select few.

How Much Money Did Tom Felton Make From The Harry Potter Movies? ( Photo Credit – Instagram )
Draco Malfoy might’ve been a classroom nemesis, but Tom Felton turned him into a cash machine. Across eight Harry Potter films, Felton’s total screen time was just 31 minutes and 45 seconds. And he earned more than $17 million (£14 million) for the same, per Lad Bible. Despite being Harry’s sneering rival, Malfoy barely showed his pale, pointed face on screen compared to the Golden Trio.
For context, Daniel Radcliffe clocked in 539 minutes, Emma Watson scored 205 minutes, and Rupert Grint hit 211. Even Hagrid aka Robbie Coltrane got 45 minutes and 45 seconds. And while Voldemort struck fear into Hogwarts, the Dark Lord himself managed only 37 minutes and 15 seconds. Guess Hagrid’s warm smile had more staying power than He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named.
Still, Malfoy’s limited presence packed a punch. Tom Felton made every sneer, glare, and “Potter!” count, leaving fans with a memorable antagonist.

Did Emma Stone have a hard time with Harry Potter’s early takes? (Photo Credit – Instagram)
Emma Watson revealed in an interview with Jimmy Kimmel that, during one of the film’s early takes, she accidentally mouthed her co-stars’ lines—multiple times. “I kind of overdid it,” she said, explaining how her excitement and dedication led to some accidental line-mouthing on set.
The incident took place during a scene where Harry, Ron, and Hermione are discussing Snape. If you watch closely, you’ll spot Emma’s lips syncing along with every line. As Kimmel put it, “watch very closely Emma’s lips throughout this.” Turns out, that wasn’t just a funny moment on-screen but a behind-the-scenes struggle.
In true Hermione fashion, Emma took her role seriously. “This is actually quite traumatic for me,” she admitted. “I created issues because of this.” While everyone else was focused on delivering their lines,...

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone director Chris Columbus reveals that there's one scene in the movie that he wasn't happy with, but an executive barred him from fixing it. Released in 2001 and based on the book by J.K. Rowling, the first installment in Warner Bros.' Harry Potter franchise was a massive success, paving the way for seven sequels. The film, which stars Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, and Emma Watson, was beloved for how it brought Rowling's Wizarding World to life, but Columbus now reveals there's one effect he wasn't satisfied with.
In a recent interview with THR, Columbus reveals that he was left bothered by the Devil's Snare scene toward the end of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. According to the director, he wanted to enhance the scene in post-production using visual effects, but a powerful executive producer shut the idea down. Columbus shares the anecdote to...
