Matthew created paintings of South African children from Alyssa Milano
photographs and the two did a 2002 opening in Santa Monica California
with all proceeds going to help the children of South Africa.
In 2008 Matthew's paintings were shown at the Los Angeles W Hotel to help raise money for the charity "Planting Peace" which helps the children of Haiti. Rainn Wilson from "The Office" was the guest speaker.
