- After classical training at LAMDA, Jason was discovered by Trevor Nunn and invited to join the world-renowned Royal Shakespeare Company. Jason starred as Claudio in 'Measure for Measure', Paul in the 'Blue Angel', Malcolm' in Adrian Noble's landmark production of 'Macbeth' with Derek Jacobi and Ben in 'The Destiny of Me' alongside Simon Callow.
TV & film quickly followed, with roles in 'Inspector Morse' 'The Chief' 'Iphigenia at Aulis' 'A Dark Adapted Eye' opposite Helena Bonham-Carter, 'Femme Fatale' with Simon Callow, 'Sharpe's Battle' with Sean Bean and the title role of Gawain, in the TV movie 'Gawain And The Green Knight.' Jason then won the much coveted role of bike-riding 60's policeman 'Mike Bradley' in ITV's number one drama and international hit 'Heartbeat.' For 5 years, to over 15 million viewers a week, Jason portrayed the crime-busting heartthrob that made him a household name. His popularity as Bradley was recognized with a nomination for 'Best Newcomer' at The National Television Awards.
Huge success in Heartbeat continued Jason's leading-man status with starring roles in 'Fooling Hitler,' ITV1, 'Wrong Side of the Rainbow.' 'Winter Solstice' followed by 'Summer Solstice' alongside Peter Ustinov and the US TV movie 'Mysterious Island ' opposite Patrick Stewart and Kyle MacLachlan. After guest-starring in an episode of the American TV show 'NUMB3RS' and co-starring in the US movie 'True True Lie' alongside Jaime King and Annabelle Wallis, Jason burst back onto UK screens with his portrayal of 'Alan Daniels' the handsome serial killer in Lynda La Plante's critically acclaimed ITV drama 'Above Suspicion' which pulled in nearly 7.5 million viewers.
Recently Jason has starred in the feature films, 'Bloodshot' with Keith Allen and Danny Dyer followed by 'Down Dog' opposite Nick Moran and he is constantly in demand for guest star roles, appearing in Agatha Christie's Marple, Midsomer Murders, Lewis and New Tricks . Alongside his extensive film and TV work Jason has enjoyed a glittering theatre career, recently starring alongside Sarah Parish in The Chichester Festival Theatre in Alan Ayckbourn's 'Way Up Stream'. - Jason and his family previously lived in Los Angeles, but have now made their home on a renovated farm in the Cotswolds, where they keep a flock of Zwartbles Dutch sheep.
