However, Handler is currently enjoying her latest number one New York Times bestseller ("Uganda Be Kidding...

Mad for Manilow! January Jones photobombed singers Barry Manilow and Carole Bayer Sager at the 2nd Annual Rebels With A Cause Gala held on Thursday, March 20 in Hollywood. The Mad Men star, wearing a black and white striped dress, noticed photographer Mark Davis snapping Manilow and Sager -- both of whom were entwined in deep conversation. So what did Jones do? The actress, 36, popped her wavy blonde tresses into the frame and flashed a mega-watt smile with her bright red lips. It turns out that Jones [...]...

"X-Men: Days of Future Past" is still two months away from opening in theaters, but director Bryan Singer's mind is already on the future -- the next "X-Men" movie after that.
Singer reveals some tidbits about "X-Men: Apocalypse" in Total Film (via JoBlo.com), including the era in which the movie will be set.
As he teases, the new movie will be about ancient mutants, "the fact they were born and existed thousands of years ago." But don't expect cavemen and Neanderthal mutants. "It'll take place in the '80s," Singer says. "The '80s is a period now -- it's hard for me to believe that!"
As to which of the familiar "X-Men" faces we might see in "Apocalypse," Singer doesn't say. But he does promise more mayhem and chaos than ever before.
"'Apocalypse 'will have more of the mass destruction that X-Men films, to date, have not relied upon,...

Riding high off his huge success "Ride Along," comedian Kevin Hart is set to recreate that magic alongside that film's director and producer, and he's bringing Jamie Foxx into the fold.
Hart and Foxx will co-star in "The Black Phantom," which according to Variety "follows a double-crossed mob hitman who enlists the help of the Black Phantom, the same African-American hitman who had been sent to kill him." It's unclear which actor will play which character, or whether "Phantom" will be a comedy or action flick, though judging by the talent involved, it seems safe to assume it will be a hybrid of the two genres.
Though a deal is still being worked out, Hart's "Ride Along" director Tim Story is pegged to direct "Phantom," while "Ride Along" producer Will Packer is set to co-produce alongside Will Gluck (who's working with Foxx on the "Annie" reboot). Considering the success of "Ride Along,...

Alex Gibney's film We Steal Secrets is the first WikiLeaks documentary out of the gate – but it nearly didn't happen. The prolific film-maker talks Assange, Bradley Manning and paranoia
Had things worked out differently, Alex Gibney and Julian Assange could have been soulmates – instead, they've ended up more as enemies. Gibney is one of the most prolific documentary-makers of today, and his films often take the perspective of the victim or antihero. As such, Assange was hard to resist. "Here's this tremendously romantic figure travelling the world with a laptop in his knapsack, exposing abuses of power," says Gibney. "That sounds like a pretty good story to me."
He's not the only one: the saga of WikiLeaks, the group's part in exposing Us atrocities in Afghanistan and Iraq, and the subsequent sexual charges levelled at Assange, is one of the biggest of our era. It's a real-life, 21st-century spy...

Alex Gibney's We Steal Secrets: The Story of WikiLeaks is one of the year's most essential, troubling documentaries, a two-pronged character study that follows the rise and fall of Julian Assange and the story of soldier-turned-whistleblower Bradley Manning.
Digital Spy sat down with Gibney to discuss his psychological approach to the material, his fraught relationship with Assange, and his opinion on the current situation with Prism whistleblower Edward Snowden.
Did the film always begin with the Wank worm attack? It's an unexpected place to start, because it takes place so far before the other events you document.
"It was always pretty present, upfront. I thought that we should probably start there pretty far back. I desperately wanted to avoid a beginning that started with a montage of ,'Oh my God, WikiLeaks, is he good? Is he bad? Blah blah blah.'
"I felt like this had been a current events story,...

Congratulations to the cast of Push Girls for taking home last night's Critics Choice Award for best reality series!

Now on with the show! In last night’s Push Girls episode “Surprising News” Angela gets behind the wheel, Chelsie is desperate to walk and Tiphany and Liz play kissy face in the sand.
The show begins with Auti and Angela contorting themselves to get inside of a car. They laugh that it takes them 45 minutes just to head off to lunch.
Then we head over to Chelsie’s and her boyfriend Raymond, who makes this ignorant statement, “You don’t really see gorgeous people in wheelchairs.” What?!
Chelsie is determined to walk again. She practices standing one hour a day to gain strength. Raymond makes a tremendous discovery of the revolutionary ReWalk bionic suit. Here’s a video showing how the suit works.

Just a month before Bradley Manning finally appeared before a military judge to confess that he did indeed leak thousands of sensitive military documents, Alex Gibney’s latest docu investigation which chronicles Manning’s involvement with the whistle blowing website Wikileaks and it’s notorious figurehead Julian Assange, We Steal Secrets: The Story of Wikileaks, screened at this year’s Sundance Film Festival. I met up with the prolific documentarian in Park City following the film’s warmly received world premiere to discuss how he got involved with the project, the challenges of presenting characters through on screen text, the moral issues of leaking government documents, what it was like dealing with the ever so slippery Assange, and trying to edit down a sprawling three hour plus cut to just over two. Our conversation in both video and text form is below.

American Idol Finale ~ Mariah Carey Medley by HumanSlinky
As part of the two-hour "American Idol" finale Thursday night (May 16), judge Mariah Carey sang a medley of some of her biggest hits -- though we were sad "Someday" did not make the cut.
However, viewers were in an uproar on Twitter over Carey appearing to be lip-synching during the pre-taped segment.
"Mariah Carey needs to practice her lip syncing. She on American Idol right now making a fool of herself." -- Artistry Beats
"Mariah Carey lip syncing on a live show really though?!? When a child can tell, that's Bad!! Can we get Originality please." -- Vuitton
"So apparently viewers of American Idol are upset at Mariah Carey lip-syncing last night...what did yall expect baby girl getting old #noNews." -- MsSouthernCharm
"Mariah Carey lip syncing on AI....kind of ironic since she critiques live performances when she can't even do it herself.

El Paso, Texas — A Texas judge says a longtime friend of Sherman Hemsley can proceed with burial plans for the deceased star of "The Jeffersons."
Hemsley's body has remained in refrigerated storage at an El Paso funeral home since his death on July 24.
Judge Patricia B. Chew on Friday gave longtime friend Flora Enchinton Bernal the authority to decide how Hemsley would be buried.
Chew's ruling came shortly after she upheld the validity of Hemsley's will, which granted Enchinton Bernal sole authority over his estate.
Hemsley made his name as George Jefferson on the popular TV sitcom.
Philadelphia man Richard Thornton, who says he is Hemsley's half-brother, has contested the will. Thornton's attorney, Mark Davis, said afterward he will seek a stay of Chew's ruling.

When MTV News first caught up with Dan Stephens, co-producer of U.K.-based electronic dance music outfit Nero, and frequent vocal collaborator Alana Watson, last December, it was at the launch of the music video for "Reaching Out."
The song is the fifth single from their debut album, Welcome Reality, and features original vocals by Daryl Hall of Hall & Oates fame, who recorded pieces of the Hall & Oates '80s hit song "Out of Touch." Nero's other singles from the album, "Crush On You," "Promises," and "Must Be the Feeling," garnered remixes from the likes of Kill the Noise, Skrillex, Flux Pavilion and Calvin Harris, to name a few.
Since then, Stephens and co-producer Joseph Ray have been tirelessly touring the U.S.

Computer-generated motion picture animation from “Vertigo” to “Toy Story” to the 3D spectacles of today will be explored during “The Development of the Digital Animator,” the latest installment of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. Marc Davis Celebration of Animation, on Monday, May 21, at 7:30 p.m. at the Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills. Several pioneers of digital animation will revisit the long path from laboratory to cineplex during a panel moderated by animator and historian Tom Sito.
When “Toy Story” burst onto the scene in 1995, computer-generated imagery was, for many, a bold new technique in animation. However, its lengthy and meticulous development can be traced back to its first public exposure with the mesmerizing title sequence for “Vertigo” (1958). Of equal importance to the technical developments were the influential animators and designers who devised artistic uses for engineering advances.
Scheduled panelists include:
Rebecca Allen, an experimental filmmaker...
