One of summer’s guiltiest pleasures is no more.
ABC has decided to pull the plug on Mistresses, making the Season 4 finale, which aired on Sept. 6th, now a series finale.
Executive producer Rina Mimoun had told TVLine that she’d hoped for one more season to wrap things up, “There’d be some new hot messes in the mix, and we’d be moving back toward the kind of racy romp that Mistresses was when it began.”
Unfortunately, that’s not going to happen with Mistresses finding the end of the road long before the characters were ready to get out of the car.
That romp included everything from husbands back from the dead, affairs, accidents, threesomes, babies, and murder. The show was a soapy roller coaster ride from beginning to end.
The show was originally based on the U.K. series by the same name but took on a life all its own.

No one was expecting Jurassic World to enter the box office with a whimper, but it came as a surprise to pretty much everyone – including producer Frank Marshall, as revealed during a recent press interview for Jason Bourne – when it roared into theaters so loudly that it became not only the second-highest grossing movie of last year but the fourth biggest of all time.
“No, I wasn’t [prepared for the numbers],” Marshall said. “That’s the honest truth. I was hoping to open at 100, they were projecting 100 which is huge, and that would’ve be the biggest opening for a movie that I’ve produced, but we pretty much doubled my expectations [Laughs] at every turn.”
With all those zeroes attached to the movie’s total haul, it’s not that shocking that Universal is eagerly moving forward with a sequel, currently just known as Jurassic World 2. According to Marshall, director Juan Antonio Bayona...

It’s interesting to watch cable networks figure out who they are, especially when they aren’t networks that build their space with their name. Things like Syfy and ABC Family tell you where you are (though it doesn’t work as well for History or TLC – seriously, “Learning”), but a lot of other networks have to squirm around a bit to figure out what their skin really feels like. I’m sure that they have theories going in, but mostly they throw out a few shows, figure out which ones actually become popular, and then try to figure out more shows that “seem like they’d be on the same channel.” There’s a certain “radio station” mentality going on behind-the-scenes, because the people who run networks want people to be a fan of the network itself, not just a show or two.

When The Real World first debuted on MTV in 1992, the concept of a show that sent a group of obnoxious strangers to live together in a house with their every action caught on tape was groundbreaking. The weird, voyeuristic night-vision footage of people canoodling! The confessionals that were clearly scripted by the producers! The weird fights inserted for dramatic effect, ranging from stealing someone’s peanut butter or sleeping with someone’s significant other! Since then, we’ve been treated to multiple variations on this theme, including Big Brother (the competitive version), Jersey Shore (the spray-tanned version) and Party Down South (the southern-fried version). Clearly, television producers are running out of ways to make this tired concept seem fresh and exciting. Lo and behold, TLC is here, with an answer: let’s make the housemates Amish.

What can you say about a massively popular, celebrated band like TLC that hasn’t already been said? VH1 is attempting to answer that question by gifting the world with a made-for-tv biopic to add to their impressive roster of TLC-themed entertainment, which at this point includes the band’s episode of Behind the Music and the documentary The Last Days of Left Eye. CrazySexyCool: The TLC Story follows Left Eye (Lil Mama), T-Boz (Drew Sidora), and Chili (Keke Palmer) as they navigate their rise to fame and success in the music industry. I can only assume they’re going to milk Lil Mama’s amazing Left Eye impression for everything it’s worth and address her tragic death near the end of the movie as well. The film looks like a campy good time, if not a bit cheesy. Hey, this is VH1 we’re talking about. These are the good people who bring you...

VH1 has just released the trailer for its much-anticipated TLC biopic, "Crazy Sexy Cool: The TLC Story." The film, which follows the career of Tionne "T-Boz" Watkins, Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes, and Rozanda "Chili" Thomas," follows the girl's rise to fame, financial troubles, and Lopes's tragic death. The name of the film comes from the group's most popular album which spawned hits like "Waterfalls" and "Creep." VH1 is no stranger to the story of the megafamous R&B group's story. The TLC episode of "Behind the Music" was a cultural phenomenon upon its release, as was the documentary "The Last Days of Left Eye." Rapper Lil Mama is already getting credit for her stellar Left Eye impression. Keke Palmer ("Akeelah and the Bee") plays Chili, and Drew Sidora plays "T-Boz." Check out the slightly cheesy trailer, which features a lot of lipsynching to "No Scrubs," and some inspirational one-liners. To get your fix,...

Honey Boo Boo has retired from pageants.
June Shannon -- Mama June to "Here Comes Honey Boo Boo" fans -- told In Touch that her daughter, Alana "Honey Boo Boo" Thompson, has retired from the beauty pageant circuit that made her famous on TLC's "Toddlers & Tiaras."
“We’re done," Mama June said. "We haven’t done a pageant for a while, because we’re so busy with our show and school and life in general."
Mama June told In Touch the family still goes to pageants to cheer along their pageant friends.
The family's original appearance on "Toddlers & Tiaras" scored them their own spinoff series, "Here Comes Honey Boo Boo," which was a ratings champ for TLC during its first season.
The reality show about Mama June, Honey Boo Boo and their family returns with a "Watch 'n' Sniff" Season 2 premiere event on Wednesday, July 17. Mama June has been...

In sad news, Family Ties creator and Spin City co-creator Gary David Goldberg died two days shy of his 69th birthday. Our best wishes to his loved ones in this tough time. I’d like to think Ubu is performing tricks for him, now.
In an interview with Hitfix‘s Alan Sepinwall, Mad Men creator Matthew Weiner explained the rationale behind Bob Benson, “we really wanted to show that Pete has everything, and this underling who is Don Draper-like — except for the fact that he admires Pete, wants everything Pete has and loves Pete — everything about him… We wanted it to be that this man is doing everything right, his success is not based on merit in some way, but it’s not like he’s offensive. For Pete to realize what he was losing, and this man would ascend, because he knew what he was doing.”

Rozonda "Chilli" Thomas is still "CrazySexyCool."The TLC singer celebrates her 42nd birthday today ... and looks almost exactly the same as she did when the group first burst onto the scene over 20 years ago in 1992.Though Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes died in a car crash in April 2002, Thomas still occasionally performs with Tionne "T-Boz" Watkins ... and most recently was seen on the small screen, appearing on the Food Network show "Rachael vs. Guy: Celebrity Cook-Off."VH1 is currently working on a TLC biopic and just last week it was announced Keke Palmer would play Chilli for the flick. Could viewers of "Toddlers & Tiaras" (Wed., 9 p.m. Et on TLC) have witnessed the genesis of the next-generation Beyonce? Probably not, but that didn't stop 7-year old Casey from bringing her best to a dance number inspired by "Single Ladies (Put a Ring On It)."
Despite this being only her fifth pageant, Casey had confidence and charisma to spare. In fact, she was docked a bit from the judges for being a bit too over-the-top and bouncy during the beauty portion of the competition. But her dancing absolutely blew them away.
Casey went into the competition determined to win Ultimate Grand Supreme and she did just that. But perhaps even more importantly for the miniature diva, she also scored herself a talent agent based on her performance. If she can sing the song as well as she danced to it, she may well be on her way to becoming Beyonce...

You might remember the glorious Shangela Laquifa Wadley stomping it out on RuPaul's Drag Race Seasons Two and Three. And while she might not have taken home the prize in either season, she could well turn out to be the show's biggest star.
The actor behind this amazing drag creation, D.J. Pierce, has been busy filming TV pilots and guest spots, honing his stand-up act and launching a music career. He will also make an appearance this Wednesday on TLC's Toddlers & Tiaras, returning to his hometown of Paris, Texas to act as pageant coach for his goddaughter.

Is anyone actually learning anything from The Learning Channel anymore? It seems the only things they teach anymore are stereotypes. The former educational network has offered programs about parents who have a lot of children, people who bake pastries and the revolting world of youth beauty pageants, but these shows are not exposés; they don’t attempt to change anyone’s minds. Instead, they provide comforting portrayals of people we’ve already made our minds up about.
A new opportunity to point and laugh presents itself December 18th in the form of Geek Love, a new show about speed dating events that are specifically designed for sci fi/fantasy fanatics and take place at conventions. Founder Ryan Glitch, in the extended trailer for the show, pronounces that “the bar scene doesn’t work for them,” as if Geeks are some strange breed of creature that couldn’t hope to thrive the way “normal” people do.

The Big News: A masked Kane returned to chokeslam John Cena, Cm Punk won the superstar of the year slammy award and Triple H emerged after a two month hiatus to hype up his TLC match with Kevin Nash.
In a Nutshell: The Slammy Awards somehow ended up being a reminder of the worse things of the year instead of the best.
A Slammy Award video package opened the show which showed moments of previous ceremonies including some brief footage of Owen Hart’s hillarious victory celebration on the night when he was actually supposed to be handing out the award…. “I did it again… wooooooo!!!!” That genuinely was hysterical.

VH1 is the latest basic cable network to get into the TV movie business this year, following similar forays by TNT, Cmt, Bet and, to some extent, USA Network. VH1 is planning a series of biopics about musicians and pop culture icons. First off is a movie about the 1990s R&B/hip-hop/pop trio TLC. The two surviving members of the group, Chilli and Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins, will serve as consultants and executive produce with Bill Diggins and Maggie Malina. Kate Lanier (What’s Love Got To Do With It) has signed on to write the movie. VH1 ventured into scripted programming earlier this year with the series Single Ladies, which was kicked off by a two-hour movie.

We asked and you responded like crazy!
Over the last week or so, we polled you guys about your favorite MTV Video Music Awards moments and boy did you let us know who your favorites were in categories like Most Iconic Vma Performance, Best Video of the 2000s and Best Pop Performance!
All told, we received a staggering 15 million votes in nine categories. By far the most heated contest came in the Most Iconic Vma Moment poll, where we received nearly 10 million votes … and over 9 million of those were split between two acts – Michael Jackson and Bon Jovi. That’s right! Fan groups for the two classic MTV artists got crazy competitive, but ultimately Mj prevailed, taking just over 57 percent of the vote. The late King of Pop’s 1995 Vma performance also took the crown for Best Vma Pop Performance.

With the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards just days away, we’re starting to get really excited.
This year’s Video of the Year race has to be one of the most unpredictable in recent memory. Let’s be real for a second: There were a bunch of great videos last year too, but Lady Gaga’s iconic “Bad Romance” clip kind of had it in the bag from the get-go, right? But this year, everybody is bringing something so different to the table that we have no idea which way it will go!
Don’t forget to vote for your favorite at the VMAs’ website. We have to admit, it was darn near impossible to choose between Adele’s “Rolling in the Deep,” the Beastie Boys’ “Make Some Noise,” Bruno Mars’ “Grenade,” Katy Perry’s “Firework” and Tyler, The Creator’s “Yonkers.” Somehow we made a decision and now it’s your turn!

Before we begin, let's provide a bit of background for those just tuning in to the show.
For the uninitiated, W13 is a top secret facility in South Dakota which houses rare and dangerous artifacts, such as Lewis Carroll's looking glass, Robin Hood's crossbow, and Michele Bachmann's brain stem.
Secret Service Agents Myka Bering (Joanne Kelly) and Pete Lattimer (Eddie McClintock) are assigned to retrieve the supernatural items, with help from Warehouse director Mrs. Frederic (Cch Pounder), agent-in-charge Artie (Saul Rubinek), and hot flame-haired tech geek Claudia (Allison Scagliotti).
This season also saw the debut of new agent Steve Jinks (Aaron Ashmore), who has the ability to tell when someone is lying, and is the first recurring gay character on Syfy since Caprica's Sam Adama.
This week's episode of Warehouse 13 once again relegates Steve to the "B" story, which is fine, since it's more entertaining than the "A" story.

Four-year old Allyson is a huge fan of Beyoncé. But it's more than just a love of her music, confidence and style that attracts the pageant princess on 'Toddlers & Tiaras' (Wed., 10Pm Et on TLC). Allyson is in love with the color of Beyoncé's skin.
As her mother explains, Allyson only buys "brown" dolls, and isn't even happy with her own skin tone.
"I like tanning so that I can get brown like Beyoncé," Allyson said. "I wanna be just brown."
When she got her spray tan and saw the darker tone on her skin, she was so happy she started singing 'Single Ladies (Put a Ring On It)' right there on the spot. Sure, it's a little strange, but at four years old, she knows what she likes and it's kind of adorable how devoted she is to the whole idea of brown.

Lady GaGa and Beyonce Knowles, who served as guest mentors on a previous separate week of "American Idol", were two of the many musical guests at the finale of the singing competition on May 25. The former was bathed in blue lights as she performed "The Edge of Glory", while the latter belted out a live version of "1+1" with red lights and smoke surrounding her.
Appearing high atop the stage, GaGa was dressed in a long cape and a bedazzled headpiece which has chains hanging on it. Either way, a teenage country singer was going to take home the season 10 "American Idol" crown Wednesday night (May 25), it was just a matter of whether it was Scotty McCreery or Lauren Alaina.
After Tuesday night's final performance episode, Fox announced that more than 122 million votes poured in, marking a new record in "Idol" history, bringing the season total to more than 730 million votes. And while Scotty looked like the unbeatable favorite, there was some doubt going into the finale, thanks to Lauren's gutsy performance just 24 hours before and her knockout delivery of what could have been her "Idol" coronation tune, "Like My Mother Does."
