After a two-year wait, Castlevania‘s dark world returns with Nocturne Season 2 on Netflix. Despite it only being January, Castlevania: Nocturne Season 2 has already become a strong contender for the best animated series of the year, which speaks volumes about its impact and acclaim.

The latest “Bridget Jones” picks up with Renée Zellweger’s iconic character four years after the death of her husband Mark Darcy (Colin Firth), now raising their two children on her own. When she finally reenters the dating pool, she finds herself drawn to Roxster, a free-spirited young man played by Leo Woodall.
Titled “Mad About the Boy,” the movie explores how Bridget’s relationship with 29-year-old Roxster helps her to heal. It’s the latest in a string of films, including Nicole Kidman’s “Babygirl” and Anne Hathaway’s “Idea of You,” that shows a woman dating a man her junior.
At the London premiere of “Mad About the Boy” on Wednesday night, Zellweger got candid about the significance of the characters’ romance playing out on screen. “I mean, I think it’s nothing new,” she told Variety on the red carpet. “But maybe the social taboos are melting away…...

When Castlevania: Nocturne announced Alucard’s return to the series, the fans of the franchise rejoiced in jubilance. Alucard, who was voiced by James Callis, has long been a fan-favorite character. He is admired for his complex personality and for being involved with the many iconic moments in the original Castlevania series.

However, bringing such a scene-stealer character back full-time posed a creative challenge for the production team behind Nocturne. They had to face unique obstacles and avoid focusing on Alucard too much.
They had to stay in line with the previous series while balancing his immense power and charisma. Having such a character was like choosing a celebrity to star with rookie actors. Keeping Alucard relevant without overshadowing the new cast was no easy feat.

It’s time to get reacquainted with your innie.
It’s been nearly three years since Apple TV+ introduced fans to Lumon Industries, the mysterious tech company at the heart of Severance, the vibe-heavy, Emmy-winning sci-fi thriller about employees who’ve had their consciousness split in two: the innie version who exists only at work and the outie who lives an otherwise normal life outside its walls. This article contains spoilers for "Castlevania: Nocturne" season 2.
If you count both shows as one, Netflix's "Castlevania" franchise has been running for six seasons and eight years, with "Castlevania: Nocturne" season 2 marking the latest entry in the stylish video game adaptation from Powerhouse Animation. And yet, in all that time, the shows have left the most beloved and critically acclaimed "Castlevania" game untouched. "Castlevania: Symphony of the Night" completely reinvented the property when it dropped on the original PlayStation and Sega Saturn back in 1997. Now, with the way things wrap up at the end of "Nocturne" season 2, fans could finally be getting a proper adaptation of that legendary game ... assuming the show gets renewed by Netflix.
Writing on X in October 2024, series director Samuel Deats confirmed that the show was "going on hiatus until release and we find out if we're getting renewed," adding, "if you want to see...

Castlevania: Nocturne works out its freshman growing pains with a more focused and emotionally powerful second season that’s rich in monsters, mayhem, and dark magic.
“Despair will rot you from the inside out.”
Castlevania was an incredibly consistent animated action series for Netflix that helped kickstart the streaming service’s impressive track record with video game adaptations. Castlevania reached great heights that made it far more than just a vampire series or video game adaptation and the end of its run after four seasons was met with disappointment. However, the announcement of a spin-off that’s immersed in the lore of Rondo of Blood had many excited for the Castlevania universe’s expansion. Unfortunately, Castlevania: Nocturne’s first season was decent, but forgettable. It was perfectly fine, which is not exactly the benchmark that one strives for with a spin-off to a series that was so subversive and passionate.

James Callis earned praise for his portrayal of Gaius Baltar in Battlestar Galactica, but Star Trek wasted him as an actor. Callis delivered one of the most compelling and multi-layered performances in science fiction history with Baltar. This deeply flawed yet endlessly fascinating character became a core pillar of Battlestar Galactica's success, energizing its narrative complexity and supercharging its emotional weight.
Callis’ work as Baltar proved his ability to thrive in the intricate moral and political landscapes often found in high-quality science fiction. As such, Star Trek fans had reason to be excited when Callis was announced as Maurice Picard, the estranged father of Jean-Luc Picard, in Star Trek: Picard. His casting suggested that the role might carry the same dynamic energy and philosophical undertones Callis had embodied as Baltar. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case, and the character was nowhere near as meaty as Baltar.

Renee Zellweger is back as Bridget Jones in Mad About The Boy, and here’s the trailer for the new film.
The long awaited fourth film is called Mad About The Boy, adapted from Fielding’s 2013 novel of the same name, and it’s now far away at all. As well as a returning Renee Zellweger, the cast also includes Isla Fisher, Josette Simon, Nico Parker and Leila Farzad.
Michael Morris directed the film from a screenplay by Fielding, with contributions from screenwriters Abi Morgan and Dan Mazer.
The first trailer for it is with us, and it looks like this:
Helen Fielding’s big knicker wearing, perennial singleton Bridget Jones began life as a character in a series of columns in The Independent, which became a bestselling series of novels. They were soon adapted into hugely successful films, with Renee Zellweger starring in 2001’s Bridget Jones’ Diary, 2004’s Bridget Jones: The Edge Of Reason...

Bridget’s back, and she’s still trying to figure things out.
The first trailer for Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy has been released, and Renée Zellweger’s Bridget is still looking for love as she comes to terms with the tragedy of losing Mark Darcy (Colin Firth). Yep, you read that correctly, Darcy is no more and the trailer serves up the bad news straight away.
Still, the only way is up for our Bridget as she gets on with life, and the prospect of not one but two possible romances. There’s the hunky and age-appropriate Mr. Wallaker (Chiwetel Ejiofor), a teacher at Bridget’s children’s school and the wild card of Roxster (Leo Woodall), the youthful bit of rough that should be a red flag.

It’s been almost 20 years since a show with some major twists premiered—the first episode of Battlestar Galactica Season 1 aired in October 2004 in the UK and January 2005 in the U.S.—and there has even been some talk of a reboot. Slow Horses season 4, episode 3, "Penny for Your Thoughts," finally reveals a bit more of the mystery plaguing River Cartwright (Jack Lowden), one of Slough House's MI5 agents, and his grandfather, retired MI5 agent David (Jonathan Pryce). Previously, Slow Horses confirmed what happened to River. After David killed his grandson's look-alike and his would-be assassin, River used the dead body to his advantage. Planting his ID at the scene and disfiguring the intruder's face, River chased his only lead to Lavande, France. Thankfully, Jackson Lamb (Gary Oldman) doubled down on River's ruse, allowing him more time.

A handful of vampires from movies and TV shows emerge as the most powerful in all fiction due to their unique powers and invulnerabilities. Buffy the Vampire Slayer, The Twilight Saga, True Blood, and The Vampire Diaries dominate the vampire fantasy subgenre, as these series all feature numerous vampire characters constantly shifting between ally and enemy. However, it is clear that a select few vampires from other properties would wipe the floor with the most popular vampires from movies and TV.
Each property tends to position one or several vampires as the most powerful in their world, often due to age and specific abilities acquired over time. The basic trope of vampire mythology is that one original vampire is the ruling force in vampire society, although Twilight depicts political tension derived from conflicts between different covens and recruiting members with specific powers. They are among the minor Twilight characters the TV remake can further explore,...

An adaptation of Mick Herron's Spook Street, the fourth Slough House novel, Slow Horses season 4's story puts River Cartwright (Jack Lowden), one of Slough House's newest inductees, and his grandfather, MI5 legend David Cartwright (Jonathan Pryce), in the cross-hairs of a vast and potentially very personal conspiracy. Slow Horses is back for its fourth outing, prompting many returning viewers to wonder who is in the hit Apple TV+ show's cast. Slow Horses season 4's story will pull its plot and characters from Spook Street, another entry in Mick Herron's Slough House series of books. So far, the unconventional British spy thriller has adapted Herron's Slow Horses, Dead Lions, and Real Tigers, promising another Slow Horses entry that differs from the books in small ways, all while capturing their spirit. The series centers on MI5's Slough House the purgatory for "slow horses" who've made career-ending missteps.
Despite being relegated to drudgery, the Slough House agents end up involved in high-profile cases often thanks to Jackson Lamb (Gary Oldman), the rude-yet-perceptive veteran agent who heads up Slough House's team of incompetent misfits. In Slow Horses season 3's ending, Catherine Standish (Saskia Reeves), the office administrator, resigns from Slough House,...

In the new fourth season of Apple TV’s Slow Horses, the latest member of the comic thriller’s titular group of disgraced British spies suggests, “We can’t help anyone. This is a D-list unit with no unifying sense of purpose. Everyone here has been checked out and written off.”
Yet these written-off disgraces of the British intelligence apparatus not only keep successfully solving the cases they somehow stumble into, they’ve become the centerpiece of one of the most beloved series of the last few years. Mention the...

One of The Lord of the Rings stars has revealed he ain’t exactly thrilled about his role in the iconic trilogy. You’d think being a part of Middle-earth’s epic journey would be every actor’s dream, right? Well, not for this guy. He’s even steering clear of Amazon’s The Rings of Power series! While fans hold his performance in high regard, the actor himself doesn’t see what the fuss is all about.

Turns out, he’s not buying into the hype around his character or his role in the fantasy saga. It’s a surprising stance, especially when fans still rave about the magic he brought to the franchise. Guess not everyone is enchanted by Tolkien’s world!
