Bill Basch was born on 4 June 1927 in Sasovo, Ukrainian SSR, USSR [now Ukraine]. He was married to Rose "Holly" Branberger. He died on 26 October 2009 in Marina del Rey, California, USA.
A survivor of the Buchenwald and Dachau concentration camps; Basch's mother and a sister died at Auschwitz. He arrived in the United States in 1947, and launched women's apparel manufacturer Basch Fashions.
In order to survive, we must accept the responsibility of being our brothers' and sisters' keeper. Each one of us must do our share of improving our society one day at a time. We all have the ability to defeat evil in our own way.
