2008’s Iron Man kick-started the Marvel Cinematic Universe and 2012’s The Avengers put the connected franchise into the mega-spotlight for featuring one of the biggest live-action comic crossovers ever. The trend continued in the coming years as Marvel Studios upped its scale and ambitions with new characters and storylines, complemented by a star-studded Avengers series, culminating it all with the end of its Infinity Saga, or phase three.

Jason Statham has a Lot of action movies to his name, but some are far better than others. Statham has had one of the wildest journeys to movie stardom of possibly any other actor, with his previous careers including working on street stalls, modeling and acting in music videos. His acting debut came with 1998's Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, which was also Guy Ritchie's directing debut.

From there, the two collaborated on Snatch, and while Statham may have seemed primed for a career in more comic roles, his future career took a wild left turn into action thanks to the shock success of The Transporter movies. It helped Statham's transition to action that he had a background as an athlete and martial artist, and while he's appeared in everything from thrillers to dramas throughout his career, Statham has become synonymous with action.

Singer, actor, and activist Harry Belafonte has passed away at the age of 96. Along with his rich, prolific musical career, Belafonte leaves behind an impressive legacy on screen. From one of his earliest roles in Otto Preminger's "Carmen Jones" to his last appearance in Spike Lee's "BlacKkKlansman," Belafonte left an unforgettable impression. The actor worked with talented filmmakers like Robert Altman, Robert Wise, Ava DuVernay, and Sidney Poitier, and appeared in Lee's 2006 look at the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, "When The Levees Broke." But he and Lee would also work together one more time, in a role that the then-elderly Belafonte had to get approved by a doctor.
