In the aftermath of his stroke that he sustained during the shoot of Back in Action, Jamie Foxx was romantically linked to fitness model Alyce Huckstepp, and the two were last seen together strolling on a beach in Mexico. While it was reported that Huckstepp proved to be a great presence in Foxx’s life, new reports suggest that the two have parted ways.

Netflix's first big release of 2025, the spy action-comedy Back in Action, has been doing extremely well since its January 17 launch date, hitting over 46.8 million views within its first three days of release, which makes it the streamer's biggest opening weekened for an English-language film since 2022's The Adam Project.
Upon its release, we were able to catch up with director Seth Gordon (Horrible Bosses; Identity Thief; Baywatch) to talk about the family entertainer that stars Jamie Foxx (Spider-Man: No Way Home; Baby Driver; Collateral) and Cameron Diaz (Knight and Day; Charlie's Angels; Shrek) in the lead roles.
He walks us through uniting the iconic movie stars and their instant chemistry, shooting in London, and a whole lot more.

A good spy may need to melt into the background for their next high-stakes mission. But, sometimes, these experts in espionage simply can’t help but draw the limelight. Just ask Noah Centineo, who’s not only the star of the drama The Recruit— which returns for Season 2 on Jan. 30 — but also the latest explosive celebration of all things spy on Netflix.
In a new video, Centineo stumbles into the kind of situation only someone like his Recruit character — crafty CIA lawyer Owen Hendricks — could survive. The results of Centineo’s mission remind us he’s got company when it comes to being an on-screen spy. Oscar-winner Jamie Foxx, Golden Globe nominee Cameron Diaz, and The Night Agent hero Gabriel Basso are also leaping into the action.

Back in Action is headlined by Cameron Diaz’s comeback after 11 years away from acting, but Netflix’s most viewed weekend premiere in nearly three years is also Seth Gordon’s return to feature filmmaking.
Gordon — who’s most known as the director behind hit comedies such as Four Christmases (2008), Horrible Bosses (2011) and Identity Thief (2013) — hasn’t made a feature film since 2017’s Baywatch, and while his four films have averaged a box office gross of nearly $183 million each, his absence coincides with the comedy genre’s steady decline at the box office and widespread disappearance from major studio development slates. Gordon doesn’t have the definitive answer for why comedy is no longer the dominant force it once was at multiplexes, but he speculates that it could be a result of the hectic political climate that’s been in effect since 2017.
“[2017] was the time when comedy started to die down.

Like many Quentin Tarantino movies, the dialogue in Django Unchained makes liberal use of the N-word — to the point where it made star Leonardo DiCaprio want to quit a reading of the script. According to co-star Jamie Foxx, however, Samuel L. Jackson was able to convince him to stick it out.
“The subject matter. The N-word, specifically. Leo had a hard time saying the N-word,” Foxx remembered in a recent interview with Vanity Fair. “We’re doing a read, and Leo says, ‘Hey, guys. Cut! I just can’t do this. This is not me.’ Samuel L. Jackson goes, ‘Say that shit, motherfucker! It’s just another Tuesday. Fuck them.'”
Foxx also did his part by saying: “I told Leo that in slavery days we would never talk to each other. I’m not your friend. I’m not Jamie Foxx. I’m Django.”

“Back in Action” ends on a major cliffhanger, but will there actually be a sequel to the Cameron Diaz and Jamie Foxx-led action comedy? According to director Seth Gordon, the Netflix film’s ending was conceived less as a guarantee and more as a hopeful wish.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Gordon revealed that Netflix has yet to broach the topic of “Back in Action 2” with him. “They won’t even acknowledge the idea of a sequel yet!” the director admitted. “So if you put in a good word, maybe there’s a chance.”

Here’s What Ridley Scott Said About Turning Down Blade Runner 2049 (Photo Credit – Instagram)
Let’s take a moment to picture this: Ridley Scott stuck in a sci-fi dilemma for the ages. The chance to direct the sequel to one of the genre’s greatest films or stick with the dark, suspense-filled world of Alien? The man didn’t have to make that choice, but… he did. And looking back, Scott doesn’t wear it as a badge of honor. “I shouldn’t have had to make that decision,” he once admitted to Empire, adding, “But I had to. I should have done Blade Runner 2.”
Here’s a truth bomb from the king of dystopian cinema: Ridley Scott passed on directing Blade Runner 2049 in 2017 because he was knee-deep in Alien: Covenant. Tough choice, but he made it. Instead of diving back into replicant territory, he took on...

What Do Insiders Think About Britney Spears’ Reunion With Her Estranged Sons? (Photo Credit – Instagram)
Britney Spears is experiencing a bittersweet chapter in her personal life as her estranged sons, Sean Preston, 19, and Jayden, 18, have re-entered her life. Now, as the pop icon is elated to reconnect with her boys after years of estrangement, insiders have raised questions about the timing of their reunion, suggesting financial motives might be at play.

Questions Arise About Britney Spears’ Sons’ Motives
Spears’ boys apparently distanced themselves from her for years, embarrassed by her public persona and social media presence. However, their return coincides suspiciously with the end of Spears’ substantial child support payments to their father, Kevin Federline.
After nearly two decades of paying $40,000 monthly, later reduced to $20,000, Spears’ financial obligations ceased in November 2024 following Jayden’s high school graduation.

What Deal Did Cameron Diaz Strike With Netflix Before Back In Action? (Photo Credit – Instagram)
Cameron Diaz’s return to the big screen wasn’t easy to secure, but Netflix struck a deal worth $45 million to bring her out of retirement for just two films. The first of these, Back in Action, starring Jamie Foxx, is already making waves, sitting atop the streaming giant’s charts.
Cameron Diaz’s Irresistible Netflix Money Deal
Diaz had been retired for almost a decade, focusing on her family life with her husband, Benji Madden, and their two children. Still, when former Netflix boss Scott Stuber and his successor Dan Lin offered her a deal, the 52-year-old Hollywood star couldn’t refuse and decided to return.
While Lin had a reputation for tightening budgets, he saw the value in Diaz’s star power and was willing to meet her price—$45 million for two films.

In ‘Django Unchained,’ racial slurs were heavily used to reflect the harsh realities of slavery in the 1800s and make the story authentic. Some actors, like Leonardo DiCaprio, felt uncomfortable saying these words, but director Quentin Tarantino and others like Samuel L. Jackson encouraged them to stay true to the script for the film’s impact.
The movie sparked debates about whether such language was necessary, but many felt it highlighted the brutality of the era.
Jamie Foxx revealed that Leonardo DiCaprio felt uncomfortable saying a racial slur while playing plantation owner Calvin Candie in the movie. DiCaprio admitted to his co-stars, “It’s tough for me to say this.” However, Samuel L. Jackson, who played Calvin’s loyal slave Stephen, stepped in and told DiCaprio to push through, helping him feel more comfortable staying in character.
Samuel L Jackson goes, ‘Say that shit, motherfucker! It’s just another Tuesday.

While most actors are doing everything they can to carve out their piece of the limelight, some just seem to have it all figured out. Tom Cruise is one of those guys. He’s the kind of star who doesn’t just light up the screen—he practically owns it. From Mission: Impossible to Jerry Maguire, he has secured himself as one of the most bankable actors ever. But what happens when another powerhouse, the multi-talented Jamie Foxx, steps onto the set?

Cameron Diaz is back — and making it look easy. In Back in Action, Diaz plays Emily Reynolds, a seemingly average suburban mom who, alongside her husband Matt (Jamie Foxx), is actually a former secret agent. Naturally, their retirement doesn’t last very long, and soon the pair and their two children are off on a globe-trotting adventure.
Diaz can relate. Back in Action is the There’s Something About Mary star’s first film in almost a decade. But she had no trouble getting back in Back in Action’s action. “It’s like riding a bike, you know what I mean?” Diaz told host Krista Smith on the latest episode of Skip Intro. “When you go back to something that you’ve done, there’s so much of it that you don’t have to think about. I was like, ‘Oh man, I just know how to hit my mark.

Calvin Candie is one of the most reprehensible villains of modern cinema, and Leonardo DiCaprio gave a powerful performance as the villainous slave owner in Quentin Tarantino’s Django Unchained. However, the actor did struggle with Candie’s use of racial slurs, which were very prevalent in Tarantino’s script. In fact, Jamie Foxx told Vanity Fair that DiCaprio even had to stop a read-through of the script because of it.

Jamie Foxx recently joined Vanity Fair for a video interview in which he looked back at a handful of his most iconic acting roles, including the title character in Quentin Tarantino’s “Django Unchained.” One of the Oscar winner’s most notable memories of the film is when co-star Leonardo DiCaprio cut short a reading of the script due to Tarantino’s repeated use of the N-word. DiCaprio starred in the film as the sociopathic slave owner Calvin Candie.

The North Road Company, a media venture launched in 2022 by mogul Peter Chernin, has made its first acquisition in Latin America with Perro Azul, a major Mexican production company.

Cameron Diaz has made a highly anticipated return to the big screen after a decade-long break, but her comeback has sparked intense speculation about her appearance. Fans have flooded the internet with searches for terms like “Cameron Diaz facelift,” “Cameron Diaz plastic surgery,” and “Cameron Diaz age,” leading the actress to consider stepping away again.
Cameron Diaz’s Frustration Over Public Scrutiny
Despite starring in Netflix’s Back in Action alongside Jamie Foxx, Diaz is frustrated by the same superficial focus on her appearance that she faced before her hiatus. According to sources, the actress is questioning whether the scrutiny is worth it, feeling like little has changed since her break.
“Cam is wondering if the exposure is worth it. It is like nothing has changed during her time away. It’s the same misogynistic and sexist nonsense about her appearance.

It’s been a decade since we’ve seen Cameron Diaz on screen. Now, she’s back with Netflix’s Back in Action. The film had high anticipations, but sadly, it’s more of a defeat than a triumph. You’d think teaming up with Jamie Foxx for a spy comedy would be a victor, but nope—both fanatics and critics aren’t buying it.
Directed by Seth Gordon, Back in Action follows two former spies-turned-suburban parents. Emily (Cameron Diaz) and Matt (Jamie Foxx) used to save the world, but now they’re coaching soccer and selling puzzles on Etsy.

2014 wasn't a great year for Cameron Diaz. The actor who shot to stardom when she debuted in 1994's "The Mask" suddenly found herself at the center of three films that garnered reviews ranging from lukewarm to downright malicious with "The Other Woman," "Sex Tape," and "Annie." Diaz's best movie (at least according to Rotten Tomatoes) was long behind her at this point, and the actor disappeared from movie-making after "Annie" bowed in theaters. Now, she's back in a movie that will surely do little to make up for the poor reviews of 2014 but will, at least, give her global exposure, assuming the Netflix viewing figures are anything to go by.
Diaz appears alongside her "Any Given Sunday" and "Annie" co-star Jamie Foxx in "Back in Action" in which the pair play former spies who settle down and start a family in the suburbs of Atlanta. As you might have...

Netflix’s latest action comedy, Back In Action, boasts a stacked cast filled with heavyweight actors, but unfortunately, like numerous such forgettable Ott ventures, their talents are completely wasted by an unimaginative script. The movie focuses on a spy couple who leave their old life to turn a new page and decide to settle for a peaceful family life, only for the situation to spiral out of control and drag them back into the game. Instead of trying something new with this age-old premise, the movie mostly depends on nostalgia pandering through extremely dated characterization, which is seemingly drawn straight out of unfunny sitcoms. The makers perhaps intended the tone to be family friendly, but the way they went about it turned the movie into something that feels more like a caricature than an organic venture. There is a possibility that a sequel entry gets made, given there are several...

Cameron Diaz has made her acting return in Back in Action, leading viewers to wonder what other fun action films they can find her own. After over a decade without an appearance in any movies or TV series, Diaz leads Back in Action's cast alongside Jamie Foxx, delivering an action-comedy film combination that's trending in the top 10 despite its poor reviews. It's undoubtedly fun to see such an iconic star return to the scene after so many years away, but she's had better and more successful work in the genre to explore after the new release.

After a decade-long absence from the silver screen, Cameron Diaz has finally returned to her roots with Seth Gordon’s Back in Action, starring Jamie Foxx. Although the movie hasn’t been able to wow critics, which boils down to its lackluster narrative at its core, one thing that the movie does excel at is the action sequences.

Back in Action's many references may seem like unassuming jokes, but the quips referencing Michael B. Jordan and Creed have a semblance of meaning. By the time of Back in Action's climactic ending, the film tells a lot of jokes as an action comedy. A large portion of these jokes come at the expense of Back in Action's cast members, with Jamie Foxx and Cameron Diaz's slightly older parent characters facing the brunt of humorous insults from their children.
However, as is the case with many other modern comedies, there are several self-referential jokes too. As far as Back in Action's Rotten Tomatoes score is concerned, though, these jokes could not save the movie from mixed reviews. Nonetheless, there is a lot of humor to be found throughout the film's near-two-hour runtime, with some of the references - even the title - linking to Cameron Diaz's acting retirement.
However, as is the case with many other modern comedies, there are several self-referential jokes too. Warning: Major spoilers for Back in Action below!Back in Action's cast elevates the latest Netflix action comedy - and uses the audience's knowledge of their previous roles against them. Back in Action marks Cameron Diaz's return to acting after a decade-long hiatus, with the movie leaning heavily on the comic chemistry between her and co-star Jamie Foxx. Reviews for Back in Action have been mixed overall, with critics giving the ensemble positive notices but finding the film itself generic and uninspired.
It certainly pulls a lot from other spy movies and TV shows, from Mr & Mrs Smith to Diaz's own action comedy Knight and Day. At least compared to Netflix's other recent spy comedy The Union, Back in Action at least has some genuine laughs and well-staged setpieces. The plot itself is nothing new, though the filmmakers wisely subvert expectations by casting name actors in roles that go against their typecasting.

“I knew I had to get back and realized the way to do it was by being funny,” he explained. “I told so many jokes people thought I was mad, and then I would act as someone else – for three whole days I was Denzel Washington.

Cameron Diaz is back in the spotlight after taking an 11-year break from acting. Her new Netflix movie, ‘Back in Action,’ stars her alongside Jamie Foxx, and the two have been doing press interviews to promote the film. During a recent chat with Access Hollywood Diaz commented on one of her most iconic movies – ‘The Mask.’
Cameron Diaz said she would be open to reprising her role as Tina Carlyle in a Mask sequel, but only if Jim Carrey is also involved. She joked that she’s been riding his coattails since the first movie.
If Jim’s on board, I mean, I’ve been riding those coattails from day one.
Jim Carrey said in the past he would consider returning to his role as Stanley/The Mask only if the right idea came along. He emphasized that it’s not about the money and that while he had previously talked about retiring,...

Cameron Diaz wants to play her role in the 1994 hit film The Mask again, but only if her original co-star Jim Carrey returns. Diaz discussed the effect of The Mask on her career and her willingness to return for a sequel during an interview with Access Hollywood to promote her upcoming Netflix film Back in Action.
Diaz joked, “If Jim is on board, I mean, I’ve been riding those coattails from day one,” referring to how the dream comedy helped her break into the entertainment industry. The film was her first acting role, where she played Tina Carlyle, a nightclub singer caught up in the crazy adventures of Carrey’s character, Stanley Ipkiss. The story is about Ipkiss, a quiet bank teller whose life changes when he finds a magical mask that gives him cartoon-like skills that can change reality.
Diaz’s words match what Carrey recently said about possibly bringing back the franchise.
