Friends delivered some of the most memorable and endearing relationships for ten seasons. From Ross and Rachel’s rollercoaster ride to Monica and Chandler’s unexpected romance, the viewers had two love stories to root for. But Joey and Phoebe never crossed the line of platonic friendship, despite the undeniable chemistry.

Lisa Kudrow and Mira Sorvino are in final negotiations to reprise their roles in the long awaited sequel to Romy And Michele’s High School Reunion.
It isn’t the focus of this article, but as we’re on the subject of 1990s high school reunion films, Grosse Point Blank is very much worth your time, featuring one of John Cusack’s finest performances. It’s also got a brilliant punch up between Cusack and his real life martial arts teacher Benny ‘The Jet’ Urquidez, who was still very much in fine fettle over a decade after his two iconic bouts with Jackie Chan in Wheels On Meals and Dragons Forever.
What is the focus of this article is the underrated 1997 comedy Romy And Michele’s High School Reunion, which saw Mira Sorvino and Friends alum Lisa Kudrow play the titular pair, outcasts who decide to lie about their success in life at their high school reunion.

Romy And Michele’s High School Reunion is getting a sequel with Mira Sorvino and Lisa Kudrow in final talks to reprise their roles from the 1997 film.
The pair of actresses will also executive produce, and Tim Federle is attached to direct.
Production is eyeing a June start date, potentially in Los Angeles.
The reunion of all reunions was teased back in November 2024 when Sorvino told People that a deal had been made with a director and that she and Kudrow were on board as Eps. Then Kudrow shared in January the update that a “really good” script had been written.
Original scribe Robin Schiff returned to pen the sequel film. She has recently been behind Netflix’s hit series Emily in Paris as an executive producer and showrunner. Veteran producer Laurence Marks will also return after his work on the original film.

Every A-lister in Hollywood is loaded, but to state the obvious, it is not like TV stars aren’t, especially in this era of prestige streaming. If you’ve got the star power and the right role, you’re looking at million-dollar paychecks. So, naturally, to rank them in order of their salaries becomes a laborious affair. Does one take into account the total money made throughout the course of the show? Per episode, perhaps?
A tall order of names, meanwhile, emerges if one were to rank them using the per-episode metric. James Gandolfini in The Sopranos, Kaley Cuoco, Johnny Galecki, Jim Parsons in The Big Bang Theory, Nicole Kidman in Big Little Lies, and Jennifer Aniston in Friends all clocked in a million dollars for their respective roles.

Everybody Loves Raymond is forever. You could turn it on today, watch Ray complain, and it still hits. Timeless. The show dropped on September 13, 1996, and instantly became a classic. For nine years, it had us laughing and crying. With its penetrating humor and relatable chaos, it snagged 15 Emmys before ending in 2005.
The Barone family? Messy, dysfunctional, and always up in each other’s business. That’s why we loved them. Ray dodging his parents, Debra fighting for space, Robert being, well, Robert. It gave us classic moments we’re still quoting.

The iconic Frasier returned to TV in 2023 with a revival series on Paramount+, bringing back everyone’s favorite radio psychiatrist. However, this reboot took a new approach, setting itself apart from the original that charmed audiences for 11 seasons until its conclusion in 2004.
While critics offered mixed reviews, one thing was universally admired and that was Kelsey Grammer’s return as the titular Frasier Crane. It’s like he never left! Grammer effortlessly stepped back into his role, delivering witty lines with impeccable timing. He has the same magnetic charm fans adored decades ago.

Actress Scarlett Johansson finally escaped our long-running photo gallery of the greatest living actresses to never receive an Oscar nomination. And she did it in grand style by picking up two for her 2019 films “Marriage Story” and “Jojo Rabbit.” Just recently, Kirsten Dunst had been in our gallery for years and then earned her first Academy Award bid for “The Power of the Dog.” Jamie Lee Curtis was fortunately removed from the gallery with not only a nomination but win for “Everything Everywhere All at Once.” Emily Blunt was finally nominated for “Oppenheimer” years after winning her first SAG Award for “A Quiet Place.” And in 2025, both Demi Moore (“The Substance”) and Zoe Saldana (“Emilia Perez”) finally got their first ever nominations.
In 2014, “Friends” star Jennifer Aniston looked like a lock to receive her first Academy Award nomination for “Cake,” following citations at the Golden Globes, SAG, and Broadcast Film Critics.

Not many shows have left a lasting impact in TV history as Frasier did. The NBC sitcom aired from 1993 until 2004, and while it was a spinoff of Cheers, it became so much more. The series had sharp dialogue, smart humor, and the perfect cast one could imagine, which earned the show a record-breaking 37 Emmy Awards during its original run.

There’s no way we can imagine Modern Family in any other format or with different actors than the ones who ended up playing the respective characters. It feels wrong to mess with the show that left a lasting legacy in television.
However, when the creators of the show, Steven Levitan and Christopher Lloyd look back on their time in developing the show, they can recount numerous challenges that hindered their progress.

Back in the early 1980s, Eddie Murphy straight up saved Saturday Night Live from extinction, but when Damon Wayans Sr. joined the show in 1985, Murphy tried to save him the trouble.
Though Murphy’s four seasons on SNL simultaneously skyrocketed him to superstardom and saved the show from fizzling out in its post-Belushi, post-Radner era, Murphy’s relationship with the comedy institution that owes him its very existence was rocky both during and after his time in the cast. Despite being SNL’s absolute messiah, Murphy had struggles with the nearly all-white SNL writing staff during his meteoric rise, and when a future In Living Color star arrived at 30 Rockefeller Plaza shortly after Murphy left, Murphy advised Wayans to watch his back.
After just a year at SNL, Wayans would publicly force Lorne Michaels to release him from his contract by pulling a mid-sketch stunt that would live in infamy.

Friends arrived in the 1990s to change the sitcom genre and has an incomparable legacy, but it was almost sued due to how similar it is to a 1992 rom-com with 79% on Rotten Tomatoes. The 1990s is home to some of the most memorable and successful sitcoms, all of them offering something unique and fun. Friends premiered on NBC in 1994 and became one of the most successful TV shows ever, running for a total of 10 seasons and ending in 2004. Friends broke various records and continues to be regarded as one of the greatest TV shows ever made.
The concept of Friends is simple, but was very effective as it deeply connected with the audience: six friends with different personalities, goals, and backgrounds navigate adulthood together. Lisa Kudrow and Mira Sorvino are set to return for Romy & Michele’s High School Reunion 2 – and there’s been script progress.
The back end of the 1990s saw a pair of high school reunion comedies hit the big screen, both of which remain worth seeking out. On the one hand, there was John Cusack playing a hitman returning for his school reunion in Grosse Pointe Blank. On the other, Mira Sorvino and Lisa Kudrow headlined the wonderfully offbeat Romy & Michele’s High School Reunion. Neither fully ignited the box office, both though found their fans.
It’s been a couple of years since we first heard word of a possible Romy & Michele’s High School Reunion 2, a nice surprise that sprung up relatively recently. Now, Lisa Kudrow has given a promising update, in which she reckons there’s a working script in place.

In the two decades since wrapping up his 10-season run as neurotic paleontologist Ross Geller on the beloved NBC sitcom “Friends,” David Schwimmer has branched out across genres and mediums.
Following the series finale of “Friends” in 2004, Schwimmer, unlike his costars, decided to move from Los Angeles back to his native New York City, and briefly stepped away from the spotlight. He has spent the intervening years chasing his own creative pursuits: returning to his first love of theater and conquering the West End and Broadway stages; voicing Melman the giraffe in the “Madagascar” franchise; appearing in some niche indies; and parlaying his experience as an episodic director into helming his own features.

Friends’ main couple were Rachel (Jennifer Aniston) and Ross (David Schwimmer), though that doesn’t mean they were the show’s best couple – and the actual best one made them look even worse. The 1990s saw the rise of various sitcoms, of which some made film history, as is the case for Friends. Despite ending in 2004, Friends continues to be quite popular and has reached a wider audience thanks to its arrival in the world of streaming, but this has also brought more attention to its flaws and elements that haven’t aged well.
Despite Friends sharing the spotlight between Monica (Courteney Cox), Chandler (Matthew Perry), Joey (Matt LeBlanc), Phoebe (Lisa Kudrow), Rachel, and Ross, the latter two became the main couple of the show, and thus a lot of the attention went to their chaotic relationship. While Ross and Rachel broke up, got back together, broke up again, and more,...

David Schwimmer and two key creatives behind Goosebumps have discussed the show giving him his first lead horror role. The Disney+ anthology series is inspired by the children's book series of the same name by R. L. Stine and tells a different family-friendly horror story every season. The upcoming Goosebumps season 2, which is subtitled The Vanishing and follows teenage siblings who uncover a dangerous secret hidden in their new home, boasts a brand-new ensemble cast that includes Schwimmer, Ana Ortiz, Sam McCarthy, Jayden Bartels, Elijah M. Cooper, Galilea La Salvia, and Francesca Noel.
ScreenRant had the opportunity to interview Goosebumps showrunner Hilary Winston, co-creator Rob Letterman, and star David Scwhimmer ahead of the new season. Letterman and Winston revealed that they were already thinking of going with a comedy star for the role because "comedy and horror are so linked," but casting the Friends alumnus felt like a long shot.

“Hey I’m on the Warner Bros lot and we’re by the Friends couch,” Romano said on an Instagram video posted by No Good Deed creator Liz Feldman. “Everybody is, oh there’s Friends, and they forget that Everybody Loves Raymond filmed on Warner Bros. too. I just want to make sure they remember.”
“It’s not all about Friends,” he continued. “We were two stages down.”
Kudrow then appears at the couch and acknowledges that Friends first shot on Stage 5 — home of Raymond — before moving to Stage 24.

Streaming audiences have been all over the place with their holiday viewing this year. Instead of non-stop Christmas classics, we've seen Megan Fox sci-fi thrillers dominating Netflix's charts, and Gerard Butler-led crime thrillers taking over the Max rankings. That said, viewers have still managed to squeeze in some traditional holiday fare amid all the crime and sci-fi stuff, with Prime Video audiences propelling Arnold Schwarzenegger's 1996 Christmas comedy "Jingle All the Way" to the top of that streamer's charts. But even as the festive classics surface for the season, our collective appetite for darker offerings appears to be insatiable, as a new Netflix comedy drama series has managed to stand out amid the holiday stream-fest.
