Reagan has now received its digital release date. Reagan is a biopic of former president Ronald Reagan, who notably got his start as a Hollywood actor before becoming a politician. Reagan features a leading cast including Dennis Quaid, Mena Suvari, Amanda Righetti, C. Thomas Howell, and Penelope Ann Miller, and was originally released in theaters this summer.

Rutger Hauer’s bedraggled, trench-coated hitchhiker John Ryder is everything the Joker always wanted to be, just without the film bro philosophising and cosplay-friendly get-up. A true agent of chaos who exists outside of rules, society, and possibly even reality itself. The way he appears and disappears, floating in and out of the worst day of hopeless everyman Jim Halsey’s life, showing up just in time to send another calamitous domino tumbling, is, very plainly, supernatural. A character who’s so far beyond the realms of reason or humanity, he’s practically primordial; more of a lesson than a person. Don’t trust strangers – you will be dragged kicking and screaming into a cross-country cat-and-mouse game that will surrender your very soul, and potentially get a little bit homo-erotic too.

John Ryder may have wanted Jim to stop him, but you’re going to have a hard time stopping any fan from picking up the upcoming 4K Blu-ray of The Hitcher. Surprisingly, the movie has never been available on a Region 1 Blu-ray, but thankfully Warner Bros. is gassing up for exactly that.

As per The Digital Bits, Warner Bros. will release The Hitcher – which stars Rutger Hauer, C. Thomas Howell and Jennifer Jason Leigh – on October 22nd.

Currently celebrating its 30th anniversary, Robert Harmon’s The Hitcher is one of those films that leaves an indelible mark on the viewer. The concept is simple – a young driver crossing the desert (played by C Thomas Howell) is targeted for a game of cat and mouse by a ruthless stranger (played by Rutger Hauer) – but somewhere along the way, a kind of magic happens, and it emerges as much more than the sum of its parts. Although it was underappreciated on its release, like many a film seen first and foremost as horror, word of mouth gradually saw it established as a classic. I was delighted to have the opportunity to discuss it with director Robert Harmon, for whom it was a feature début which exceeded all expectations.

The Dennis Quaid-led Ronald Reagan biopic “Reagan” landed in theaters Aug. 30 and has drawn mixed reviews. The historical drama follows Reagan’s life from his childhood to his time as an actor in Hollywood and his second marriage to Nancy Reagan, all the way to his years in the White House. It concludes with his announcement of his Alzheimer’s Disease diagnosis at age 83.

The movie is directed by Sean McNamara and written by Howard Klausner and Jonas McCord. It’s largely told through conversations between two former Kgb agents.

In One Mile and its sequel — written by John Hlavin based with rewrites by Tj Brady and Rasheed Newson — when an estranged father, Danny (Phillippe), and daughter, Alex (Hoeferle), go off for college tours, they get more than they bargained for when they get lost and stumble across a hostile, off-the-grid community.
