Heavily reliant on nostalgia and cameos
It's been unfortunate to see the decline in Adam Sandler comedies over the years and this doesn't redeem it. The only thing this sequel had going for it was the boatload of cameos and returning characters, outside of that it fell flat. The story was below average and acting was even worse. Severe lack of laughs as the entire comedic approach felt geared toward 12 year olds.
I also appreciate getting the family involved but let's be real, only one of Sandlers daughters can act.

Half Good Half bad.
The first Half is Quite Good...then it turns in to a kids tv show with sound and graphics for children. Did Adam Sandler run out of money too? I much More enjoy an oldschool production than Some pixelmovie. No this do not impress me...The sidestorys is to weak and do not contribute much. No this Could have been better. Last part of the movie did not raise any laughs.
Reduce, Reuse, recycle jokes
I love Adam Sandler movies and I really wanted to love this movie. Sadly it's just not great. Shooter, Happy, and Hal L have bright spots but most of the jokes fell flat and the pacing was all over the place. The best way to describe this movie is a recycling of all the memorable jokes from the original but with worse delivery. Unfortunately Carl Weathers passed away so the story had to be rewritten. I would've rather seen a more grounded story with less cameos. The Sandman is still the GOAT and I'll watch every movie he makes.
Not a movie, 3 Acts of cameos
The first Act is a depressing collection of cameos, including his entire immediate family, wife and two daughters. One of them goes all Sophia Coppola and has a major recurring role. You know that is not a good sign. The second Act is the Happy Gilmore we all came to see and it's great. The comeback montage / Rocky style tribute to Carl Weathers, his first time back on the real golf course, all the call backs and the new schtick, and now the cameos are fun. But then.......the WTAF third Act. "Regular" golf v Maxi golf was just stupid. Not Happy Gilmore silly, just stupid. And it ruined the whole thing.
Exactly what you'd expect, and that's okay
I was actually quite looking forward to this and to be fair, it starts off pretty well. Loads of nostalgic references, a few funny slapstick moments that definitely felt familiar, and in a good way at first.
But yeah... it didn't really bring anything new to the table. Most of it relies on old jokes, random cameos, and throwing in a bunch of YouTubers. Not terrible, just kind of predictable. You can tell they weren't really trying to reinvent anything just giving fans more of what they remember.
That said, the nostalgia is still there. It was fun overall. I laughed a few times, had a decent time watching it, but it was never going to live up to the original. Still, worth a watch if you're a fan of the first one just keep your expectations in check.

Lo sapevi?
- QuizThere were plans for Carl Weathers to return as Chubbs before his death in 2024. Adam Sandler said, "We had a painful change. Carl Weathers had a massive part. I would talk to Carl, and we were excited, and then Carl passed away. We had to rewrite a lot of the stuff, and even what the story was. We made a lot of nice references to how great Chubbs was in the movie. That was the biggest change."
- BlooperWill Zalatoris is playing himself, who also turns out to be Happy's Waterbury caddy from the first movie. The real Will couldn't be the caddy because he was born in 1996, the same year the first movie was released and takes place.

Happy Gilmore: [Fighting with Shooter, slamming his head on Grandma's grave] That was for you, Grandma. I'm so sorry I lost the house again. Truly.
Shooter McGavin: Hi, Grandma.
Happy Gilmore: Don't you ever talk to my grandmother!
