"Rosario + Vampire" is a chaotic blend of monster mayhem, comedy, and an overabundance of fan service. It's a quintessential 2000s harem romcom where the power of friendship (and supernatural punches) always seems to prevail.
The protagonist, unfortunately, is as bland as they come-a forgettable, pathetic human amidst a cast of far more vibrant and dynamic characters. His lack of growth is a major letdown; while the supporting cast evolves and steals the spotlight, he stays stuck in the same rut, always needing to be saved by white-haired Moka. It's frustrating, especially when even minor characters seem to have more to offer than the MC.
That said, Moka's dark side is a highlight, and the supporting cast is packed with quirky personalities and unique powers that keep things entertaining. The first season was decent, but I found myself enjoying season two much more. The ending, however, left much to be desired-it felt unfinished, and a third season could have tied things up properly.
Despite its flaws, I'd recommend Rosario + Vampire if you're looking for a good laugh and don't mind a heavy dose of nostalgia for the over-the-top harem antics of the 2000s.
