My Father's Girlfriend

Jacky St. James's movie coins a title in keeping with a decade of Sweet Sinner releases, variations on My Daughter's this or My Mother's that. Dad in question is an aging rock star played in relaxed fashion by Tommy Gunn, while AJ Applegate is the desirable girlfriend.

The possessive in the title is misleading, however, as the story is not told from the point of view of protagonist Small Hands, himself a rock performer frustrated by being in the shadow of daddy. This theme is evident, but the viewer is indentified with AJ instead.

Simple story line inevitably has both men competing for her affections, with the fly in the ointment the reappearance of mommy, in the form of seductive Sovereign Syre, who insists on encouraging her ex Tommy in bad habits (drinking) and who has sex with him for old time's sake.

Screenplay, attributed to Jacky's production manager Shawn Alff, doesn't go very far, but the performers are strong enough to maintain one's interest. For the inevitable extraneous sex scene, Jessa Rhodes as AJ's friend delivers her usual sex appeal.
