I was surprised to see zero reviews in IMDb for this classic, one of Michael Raven's best features. How quickly they forget.
It features Julia Ann in a terrific role, playing against her title beauty as an evil scheming character who torments our sympathetic heroine Stormy. The two actresses have teamed up several times on screen, and this was an important feature in which one Blonde goddess sort of passed the baton to an up and coming future and similar icon.
The costumes, styling and visual style suggest 1940s film noir, but shot in color. Stormy and sympathetic co-worker Devin Lane slave away at Julia Ann's business, but Julia becomes jealous of Stormy's beauty and the attention paid to this underling. It soon becomes apparent, amplified by the clever character names in Raven & George Kaplan's script, that this is an adaptation of Snow White (with a dollop of Sleeping Beauty thrown in).
So will Stormy hook up with Erik Prince, played by Brad Armstrong as a suave businessman hatching big deals with Julia Ann? Or will the evil villainess, named Ellen Queen, prevail? It all unfolds in stylish visuals shot by Raven himself, and several dramatic scenes worthy of a mainstream film. I've been watching a number of Michael Raven clunkers lately, but this baby counteracts a lot of the bad karma those losers generate.
Definitely a must for any Julia Ann fan and a fitting introduction to the great career unfolding for Stormy Daniels.
