- Index flees from powerful organizations that seek to extract its knowledge, sparking conflicts. Helped by Touma, Misaka and friends from the Academy, she struggles to survive.

- The story centers on two female characters: Ellis and Nadi. In the premise, Ellis is a murder suspect and finds herself on the run from an underground society called "Hunters." At some point, she meets a bounty hunter Nadi who is initially after the bounty on her head but eventually decides to help her pursue the truth about her past. Although by doing so, Nadi calls the Hunters' wrath upon herself, as well, she accompanies Ellis to the Hometown, where she was supposedly born.
- In the land of Foreland a coup d'état has occurred and the princess, after witnessing the death of the King, is on the run. She meets with battle-hungry bounty hunter Falis, and with a twist of fate they both switch souls, making Alita the maid of the now princess Falis. Named for her bravery in confronting the enemy as 'Murder Princess', Falis must continue to be the princess as well as confronting any new opponent that comes to her way.

Resources on the dying red planet are thin, and the domed cities have resorted to a gladiator contest to determine which of them receive the most rations. Together they wander and fight their way across the planet, to take revenge against a man from Layla's past...

- The characters from previous .hack//G.U. Games and .hack//Roots receive an email from Ovan. He is requesting them to go to Hidden Forbidden Festival where is set up a mysterious summer festival. There they find an AIDA Chim Chim who wishes to peacefully co-exist with the other players of The World. It then transforms into the word "Returner", so they assume it to mean that Ovan will return to The World.
- Helba has prepared a special hot springs for some much needed rest and relaxation. Tsukasa, Mimiru, BlackRose, Kite and other friends from The World decide they are due for some soaking in the hot springs themselves. There is a catch, however: not only will Helba not reveal its exact location, but she insists that role-playing is forbidden. So who will find it first? And who keeps killing the other characters? Note: This is a parody of the .hack series with appearance of the characters from .hack//SIGN, .hack//Udeden and the games. It is also referred to as "episode 29" of .hack//SIGN. This OVA was originally a giveaway in Japan for those who bought all four .hack-games and will probably be included in the US-release of .hack//Quarantine.

- The story opens up with Madlax, a very deadly and sexy female gun-for-hire parachuting from a helicopter deep into a Latin American jungle, where she is to recover a floppy disk from a unskilled teenage rebel fighter name Peter Anyan. Later when the enemy army closes in on Peter, Madlax puts on a long flowing evening gown, and using her supreme, almost supernatural agility, and shooting skills, ambushes the army to try and save him.
