Amber Stone is starting a new job in Seattle, Wa. Amber finds a kinship with Chloe who she meets when she arrives for her job as curator of the Natural History Museum. What Amber doesn't realize is that she is part of an ancient prophecy life as she knows it is about to implode and it will have strings to Chloe and several others.

There is a lot that goes on in this book. I thought it was very well written, hops around a bit in different time frames to give a full idea of what all has happened since the time of the prophecy to current. I thought this was quite different then what I ordinarily read and I enjoyed it. There is so much to this story that I did not delve into as it keeps you guessing.

Queen's Destiny is the first installment in the Blood Prophecy series. It follows Amber, who is taking a new job at a Seattle Museum. Chloe, her ner coworker/witch. As well as vampires and wolves. This Paranormal Romance has it all; wolves, vampires, magic, prophecy, fights, etc. It can be easy to get a little lost with the consistent time jumps going back to add information to each character's background and while I wasn't the biggest fan of that, I still found this fun to read.

The author puts you in a rollercoaster ride that will leave you looking for more.

Michael and Marcus are the male protagonists, entrenched in a war between feuding races of vampires and werewolves that is centuries old. Spanning over continents and ages, both sides are trapped in a battle for survival. Amber eventually learns that she is part of prophecy, a bloodline that places her firmly in the battle line. Michael makes his presence known and she becomes romantically attracted to the enigmatic stranger. Only when she learns of his true nature, she has gone too far along the road to turn back. Chloe becomes a spiritual guide and Michael her muse as she embarks on this quest for knowledge that pleads the upcoming sequel.

Amber is a young woman, a certified genius in fact, who has just obtained her masters and has had job offers flooding, as well as other offers from other places where they want her to intern, but there is one job in Seattle which calls to her more than the others and this is the one which sent a skull along with some other interesting artefacts. Chloe is also a young woman who has a passion for ancient artefacts and has a certain skill for accurately cataloguing them and is rewarded for the prowess she has shown in the area, not many know that she is also a prodigy, but of a vastly different kind and that is what helps her so much with her job.

When Amber arrives in Seattle, she is met at the airport by Chloe and they hit it off immediately, it helps that Chloe knows the area well and is happy to help Amber settle in to her new city and new job, so once Amber is ready to head out to see her new workplace, they head to the Seattle Museum of Natural History where she gets the tour and a look at what she will be curating. One thing about Amber is that she has never slept well and has had strange dreams all of her life, but recently they have become more disturbing and one this is one thing which Chloe can help with, so when Amber opens up about them, Chloe decides to open up as well, about the other part of her life she keeps well hidden.

One night, Amber and Chloe decide to live it up a bit as two single ladies out on the town and have a few drinks with the locals, this is where they meet two strangers, two men who are not what they appear and who seem to be unnaturally handsome and with aura’s so steeped in charm, nobody can resist them, but what the two ladies don’t know is that they will know them very well soon, as well as the three thousand year old prophecy which they being with them. Little do they know that these two strangers, as well as Amber and Chloe, are about to have their lives changed forever and be drawn into a battle which has been raging for at least a millennium, but can they survive long enough to see whether this blood prophecy comes true? This is a supernatural fantasy romance which will keep you on your toes throughout, as the twists, turns, truth and lies spin a tale of magic, mayhem and blood

Queen’s Destiny is the first book in the Blood Prophecy series by Barb Jones. This is my first foray into any of Ms. Jones work, so I really had no idea of what to expect going into the book. But the title, and blurb caught my attention- so I decided to take a chance and dive in.
What I discovered is an original paranormal romance with vampires, werewolves, witches, prophecy, adventure, the supernatural, suspense, mystery, intrigue, action, conflict, agendas, tension, and drama- all wrapped around a battle for survival, and the powerful bloodline that brought about the whole prophecy in the first place.
Amber Stone is about to have her world turned upside down- in a supernatural way. Little does she know that she has a part to play in an ancient prophecy and a battle for survival that has spanned the centuries.
I really wanted to love this story far more than I did. I had a lot of trouble connecting with the characters- and therefore was left disappointed that I couldn’t invest in them and the outcome of their story the way I had hoped.
There is a lot going on in the story, and it does get quite wordy at times, with a lot of information being laid out (info dumps), as well as there being a lot of characters to keep track of. I think all this caused the story to drag and lag in parts, and gave the whole thing a bit of a choppy, chewy, story…
It is such an original concept that had the potential to be quite a stellar read as it holds a lot of promise, and I feel bad that it just didn’t quite work for me- but maybe it will for you.
Happy Reading…

Thank you, Barb Jones.

The Queen’s Destiny is the first book in the Blood Prophecy series written by Author Barb Jones and is a wonderful introduction to the series. The plot moves at a great pace, and concentrates on the perspectives of four characters, Amber, Chloe, Marcus and Michael and their complicated relationships. In this story each character is gathering pieces of a puzzle relating to a prophecy that speaks of a Queen born and destined to unite the witches, vampires and werewolves races. For fans of Deborah Harkness Discovery of Witches series this book will surely appeal.

Readers do need to note that there is a swift change between characters point of views and the writing does leap around in time as the characters move between past and present. However I do feel that the author has handled this element of writing well and she does make it apparent to the reader, so as not to cause confusion. The story can be followed with relative ease.

I enjoyed the direction of the story, the connections formed between the characters and the promise of what is to come in subsequent books. The dialogue is credible, the characters relatable and each has their own back story which I am looking forward to seeing how the author develops these further. There are some editing issues which potentially may distract a reader but these in no way spoil the overall enjoyment of the story, and the author can easily address.

A solid start to a series with fascinating characters, and so we award an easy 4 stars.

This book honestly is really interesting & I think the storyline is so cool I’m just stupid & kept skipping the dates lol.

This first book very much seems like it was setting you up for the rest of the series bc it jumps between the past & present a decent bit. There are a lot of names & timelines involved but honestly once I got the hang of it the book was really enjoyable. Especially because most of the time your following the story of two girlies in their 20s who like to drink & do spooky stuff & two vampires who are so dramatic with everyone & everything that it’s just funny to see the dynamics mingle lol.

Idk maybe I’m biased bc there is a witch named Chloe who is super cool but idk.

I def want to continue this series but I think I need time to process what I read before I read the next one? Honestly this book felt kinda like a puzzle & I really liked it lol.

I’m still kinda of in a reading slump though so I will def reread this before I finish the series.

Honestly the only thing this book was missing was dragons & fae.

Not to flex too hard either but I have a signed copy so i feel pretty special.

Queens Destiny in the Blood Prophecy series makes you work for your story but in the end you realize that it was worth it. This book encompasses all the paranormal creatures we love to read about and more. Witches, wolves , and vampires oh my wrapped into a 3000 year old prophecy and you can imagine the rollercoaster ride this book will take you on. I loved Chloe's quirky personality and how Amber and her interact. What a great friendship they have between them. Amber is the key to the prophecy to unite all of the paranormal worlds into one but if she chooses wrong everything goes up in flames and total destruction will happen. Wow no pressure right. You have to stay on top of who everyone is in the story and what part they play. The way the author jumps from past to present with each character is hard in the beginning but you will learn to love this story. You will love or hate Michael. I loved him what a great character he is. His obsession with his Queen Amber makes this an amazing story. In the end I couldn't wait to read the next book.

I received this trilogy free in exchange for my honest review.

If all you want is something titillating with vampires and witches and you don’t care about plot or character development, then this is your book. If you actually want anything of any more substance, pick something else.

It was fine for what it was, but it was anything but good. The character connections are flimsy at best and non-existent at worst. The dialog between Chloe and Amber is ridiculously stilted and forced. The fact that they start almost immediately referring to each other as their best friend I found completely stupid since they barely knew each other.

I hated Michael. He was creepy and rapey and wholly unappealing to me. Marcus wasn’t bad and he almost made me enjoy his scenes.

Also, there is an excessive amount of drinking CONSTANTLY going on. There is hardly a scene without the characters drinking. I realize the world is set up so that the only thing besides blood that the vampires can really taste is wine, but even the humans seemed to be always drinking.

Overall I was very disappointed in this book. Some things should have been expanded on and others were completely nonsensical and unnecessary for the plot. I consider my 3 star rating to be incredibly generous.

Queen's Destiny is an original paranormal romance story and an intriguing read. It is fast-paced with a lot going on and a lot to keep up with so it was slow going to read and keep up with it all. There are characters that you will like and those that will make you shiver just thinking about them.

It is the first book in the Blood Prophecy series and it has all the elements to make this a good story with prophecies, witches and vampires, werewolves and more. I will go on to read the next book as I want to see where the story may go.

Amber’s life is about to be turned upside down.

Overall, I did like the story however with so many characters I was feeling a bit at a loss. I felt that I was missing out and the story could have been a little more fleshed out in some instances and in others less so.

Just because I found it difficult to fully immerse myself in the story and at times hard to connect to the characters doesn’t mean you should not give it a go. I think this is one story that people will either like or want something more.

Queen's Destiny (Blood Prophecy Book 1) by Barb Jones. This is a great paranormal romance. Its the first book I've read by this author but it won't be my last. Its the story of Amber who is a genius and has been getting job offers left and right. Loving ancient artifacts is her passion and that is where her heart leads her. She accepts a job in Seattle and is met at the airport by Chloe who knows Seattle like the back of her hand. She makes Amber feel right at home and its a nice feeling having an immediate friend. Working at the Seattle Museum of Natural History is a dream to her and once she settles in she starts having dreams about that are very disturbing. She has had these dreams her whole life but they are becoming more scary each time she has one. When she opens up to Chloe about them Chloe knows all about them. When Chloe and Amber meet two handsome men they have no idea that the 4 of them are in for the fight of their lives. Will they be able to beat the 3000 year old prophesy and survive or will they be lost forever. Read this amazing paranormal romance to find out!

Amber Stone has just become the curator of a collection of Macedonian artifacts , for the Seattle Museum of Natural History becomes friends with Chloe a curator of tribal art. When two strangers come to town and tell them aboup a three thousand year old prophecy that throw Amber right in the middle of a battle that has spanned millennia.
This story has quite a few characters involved . Amber is the main character and she is feisty but sometimes a little naive . There is more to her then meets the eye . She is also a vampire if she turns and a queen . So there is a lot on her plate and she is trying to deal with it all . Chloe is her best friend and a witch who is like all best friends trying to help Amber pick up the pieces and fit everything together . There are so many characters including witches , werewolves vampires and so many more .
This is a story where you have to concentrate on what is going on . you really have to work on figuring out what is happening . We do jump from past to present in this book and you kind of get lost on the way. But oh boy when you get sucked in you get sucked in good . The story has everything witches , werewolves and vampires all together thrown into a prophecy. Overall i loved the story and the characters I just felt that it was a bit confusing at times , Like I said that you have to work for it but man it is worth the journey in the end . So if you want a story that is interesting and will have you on the edge of your seat check it out

I did enjoy this story once I was able to get into it. It has all the elements I love, Romance, Suspense and paranormal romance. The author does do an amazing job with creating the characters, giving them past story's and connecting them all in a way that makes this story interesting. However the way the author introduces the characters and we get bits if the story from each one and the story moves forward and back in time did make this story confusing at first but once I got the hang of the characters it was enjoyable.

Amber's life gets turned upside down when she comes to realise she is part of a prophecy and part of a war that has been going on for years. She is about to get her eyes open to a world she wasn't aware existed and her part in that uniting all these paranormal species will be an interesting story to read as Amber try to figure out what and who she is meant to be.
I am looking forward to reading on and learning more about the prophecy.

Queen's Destiny: Blood Prophecy #1 by Barb Jones

This is the first book I've read by the author. Queen's Destiny is the first book in the Blood Prophecy Series. This book is very entertaining and the author knows how to write a fantastic book.

Amber is having these strange dreams. Something is coming and she doesn't understand what is going on. She keeps spacing out and hearing things that aren't really being said. The quote I chose for Amber is: “We might do some work together on the digs I’ll be cataloging. How big is your collection? One more bag to go.”

Chloe is the one who is showing Amber around. She knows that something is coming, but isn't sure what. Then she finds out what it is. The quote I chose for Chloe is: “Okay, Amber, welcome to Seattle. The baggage claim is this way, and I paid a skycap to let me keep the car in the loading zone. Was your flight okay?”

Highly recommended for Paranormal Romance lovers.

I was more than pulled in with this book, I could not get enough. The characters and the story, were mesmerizing all in their own way,. The more I read, the more I wanted to know more!

I loved this story. The author did a wonderful job of visualizing the story that the story resides in. I liked that this book really built the foundation for the next books to come. You got a good background, as well as the task eat hand, involving the Queen. The info was great, and very mystifying. I found the pace of reading was good, even if it wasn't action upon suspense, the book drew you in and kept you interested.

Wonderful book. I very much enjoyed the author's writing style. I could not get enough. I look forward to more in the series. I highly recommend this must read book. series. as well as the author!

Amber and Chloe become instant friends when the two end up working together at the same museum. When Chloe discovers that Amber is having a series of very strange dreams, she convinces her to let her help. Amber’s dreams become increasingly more vivid as time goes on and in many, she has visions of being told that she has a prophecy to fulfill. Unbeknownst to Amber, a vampire has waited hundreds of years for his beloved Queen to be reborn and the prophecy to finally be fulfilled.

This book was well written and sucks the reader in from the first few pages. The characters were well written, and each scene is so descriptive that the reader feels as though they are right there with each character in that time and place. I loved the multiple storylines that gave background information on each character and what events transpired up until present day. I highly recommend!

I absolutely loved this book!
Starting out, it was a bit slow going. But I figure that's bound to happen in any kind of book like this where the author has set up backstories for 3 separate characters, then add in tying it Amber's destiny and it's bound to feel like you're reading a lot of boring stuff.
However, once you get past the first 20% of the book and things start to come together to set up everyone's role in this adventure it's pretty fast paced.
I can't wait to read the next one to see and hopefully hear more about the actual prophecy and how Amber's role as queen is going to help unite witches, vampires, and wolves even with those that would refuse to see the unity fighting against her.

I was blown away by the first book in the Blood Prophecy series, and I can’t wait to see where it goes. It is a very in-depth story with many characters which kept me on my toes. The flow of the book pulled me out of the storyline now and then, but that is just personal preference. This was still an amazing start to the series!

Amber and Chloe both work at museums and become friends quickly over odd dreams, but nothing could prepare them for a prophecy dragging them into a battle they’ll never forget. You’ll love this book especially if you’re into paranormal romance with tons of suspense and drama! You don’t want to miss out on Queen’s Destiny, pick it up and get lost in this wonderfully twisted world.

This is my first read by Barb Jones so I wasn’t sure what to expect. Queen's Destiny sort of took me by surprise. I really liked the idea of the book but felt like some of the elements were rushed, while others were unnecessarily drawn out. I did like how the story alternated between time periods but found myself lost at times because of it. I love all the paranormal aspects of the story including vampires, werewolves, and witches, but I found myself getting lost in all the different characters. Overall, this was a very well written story with wonderful ideas and great world building. However, I still felt like something was missing; almost like a lost connection somewhere along the way. I do feel that this series could have a lot of potential and cannot wait to read the next book.

This book has a bit of everything that you would think about being in a paranormal fantasy book. Vampires, Werewolves, Witches and Propehcies seems to show up somewhere. Every author has a different take on how they interact with one another which makes their stories fun to read. This story involves Amber and Chloe who both work at the Natural History Museum and become fast friends. They don't realize that their lives are entangled due to a prophecy that was recorded over 3,000 years ago. Amber is about to find herself in the middle of something she knew absolutely nothing about. The descriptive detail was everything in this book and it makes you feel like you are part of the story. The author did a good job engaging the audience and bringing the characters to life.

This book is the beginning of a story. It's not an action packed book, but it does have a steady pace. It felt slightly drawn out, but I could see by the end that there was a reason for all of the detail. It goes back and forth between the past and present showing the reader the history of the prophecy and what happened leading up to the moment where all the details and players of the prophecy are revealed. The characters are interesting , but I didn't feel a deep emotional attachment which I think might be due to the constant back and forth. I wish I could give a 4.5 because it only felt slightly less than excellent. There is sexual content and violence, so mature audiences only.

This book had me hooked right from the beginning. It was so well written and descriptive that it almost felt like you could reach out and touch everything and know what everything smelt and see. The characters each had their own little back story which I absolutely loved to read about, it’s like little breadcrumbs of knowing and understanding who and where they all come from and are going, thou. The farther I got into the book the more I couldn’t put it down and wanted to know more. I can not wait to read more about Amber and Chloe’s adventures of what this prophecy holds and what is to be done.

What a great story! So many characters, vampires, witches, demons, humans. Beings that don’t know what they are right away. The story line jumps from the past to the present and back many times. But Jones has written in such a way that the story is very easy to follow. While reading this story you can certainly feel the build up, you can feel something big is going to happen.

Since not everything can fall on one being’s shoulders, this adventure involves the shoulders of many different beings to defeat the evil trying to over take the world.

This is my first book by this author and I am looking forward to reading more from her.

I found this to be a quite fascinating story. Chloe and Amanda meet through their positions at the Museum in Seattle. They are both part of a 3,000 year old prophecy. Through the story, we flash back and forth through time to see how this story develops and goes. It can be a little hard to follow at times but I am a big paranormal fan and loved all the creatures in it: vampires, werewolves... It's an entertaining story that I enjoyed. it's the beginning of the series and I do hope to see more. I want to see where this goes. I recommend it for paranormal lovers out there.

I enjoyed reading this book. This is a slightly different fantasy story for me but I enjoyed it from beginning to end. This is a new author for me which I enjoyed their attention to details that gave life to the story. A well written story that has connectable, strong characters that pull you into their story. I enjoyed watching their growth as well as the growth of the plot throughout the story. This is a fast paced story that kept me engaged. A great story that you don’t want to miss. I am glad I picked it up and so will you. I highly recommend this book.

This is an interesting story that offers a well written story line and a myriad of great characters. The book jumps between times which adds a level of detail that wouldn’t be present otherwise. For me this made the story even better and made it much easier to get caught up in.
I loved the mix of characters. Although there were a lot of them, they each added something to the story and were distinct on their own. I thought the combination of personalities and character development worked perfectly for this story. This was a great book and I am pleased to have discovered a new author.

This book is skillfully written. I was immediately sucked in to the world that the author artfully created for her readers. It's well thoughtout and so entertaining that the world around you slips away and all that is left is you and all of these amazing charaters with their stories to tell. I didn't want to put this book down, but once I reached the last page I was left with no other choice. That being said I will be reading book twor. This is most certainly a must read!

Wow, I thought this book was freaking fantastic and to find out its a series, well that's just icing on the cake!!! I absolutely love the relationship between Amber and Chloe and I thought the storyline rocked! The one thing that bothered me a little bit was the jumping back and forth in time, but the author used that for story and character development. A must, must read and I can not wait to continue this amazing series!!!

This book includes all the paranormal creatures I like to read about (witches, vampires, and wolves). It did take me a bit to get into and the book shifts back and forth from past to present. I pushed myself to power through as I loved the concept of the prophecy about the queen uniting all of the paranormal beings. Of all the characters I enjoyed chloe and amber the most and cant wait to read the next book.
