Donald Trump was sworn in as the 47th president of the United States, with a number of hidden moments occurring before and during the inauguration
Donald Trump has been inaugurated as the 47th president of the United States, marking the start of his second term in the White House.
The swearing-in ceremony for President Trump was relocated indoors to the Capitol Rotunda a first in four decades and the traditional inaugural parade was substituted with an event at an arena.
At the Capitol, Vice President JD Vance was the first to be sworn in, taking the oath read by Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh on a bible gifted to him by his great-grandmother.
President Trump took his oath moments after noon, using both a family bible and the one used by President Abraham Lincoln at his 1861 inauguration, with Chief Justice John Roberts administering his oath.
After attending a series of balls until the early hours, the 78-year-old then returned to the White House. It was a hectic day for the new president and there are several hidden details from the significant day you might have overlooked, reports the Irish Star.
