R-Juna - Dubs and Praises

R-Juna is a USA producer, DJ and MC, influenced by 90’s hip hop, dub reggae and electronic music. In his 10 years of experience in the music scene, he has produced several albums spanning various genres, toured the United States and shared stages with many of his musical influences.

After recently departing from touring, R-Juna has focused his creative energy back into production, returning to his dub reggae roots.

His debut album on Dubophonic Records is entitled Dubs And Praises and is a tribute to dub music, the music that influenced so many different genres. The album consists of seven instrumental tracks with heavy bass lines, melodic riffs and deep echoes, influenced by the traditional roots reggae dub and presented with a modern ambient downbeat feeling. Munay Ki Dub - MKD

Munay Ki Dub is an electronic live dub trio, representing a new breed of artists from Argentina. Hailing up from the mountains of central Argentina, they combine live instruments such as violin, melodica, percussion, bass and guitar with programming, effects and digital instruments

Munay Ki Dub are Alejo Gonzalez (programming, keyboard, bass, fx, guitar, lead and backing vocals), Rebecca Clements (lead vocals, violin, melodica, keyboard and percussion) and Roby Torcello (guitar). The name of the band comes from an indigenous language spoken by the Quechua people, primarily living in the Peruvian Andes and highlands of South America. "Munay Ki" in Quechua means "i love", so their name reflects their passion: “I Love Dub”.

Their debut release comes in the form of a digital EP entitled “MKD” and includes four tracks that follow the above recipe, lyrically using the English and Spanish languages as a form of political expression and social awareness/consciousness, musically gliding between digital roots reggae, dub & bass and steppa.

This EP is a true child of Dubophonic Records. Both artists released earlier this year their own musical works on the label: SistaSara's Space Stepper and Dub Cmd's Moonsteppa. Roots Masashi - Namah Shivaya

Roots Masashi is a Roots Rock / New Roots composer from Osaka, Japan. He drew his inspiration from friends in high school and fell in love with conscious reggae music.  He was fascinated by Osaka’s dub scene, especially after meeting the “Dub I Roots Crew” and “Rebel Culture” in 2012 and soon after, he started building “Roots Far I”, his own Sound System and Digital Live project, based in Kishiwada of South Osaka. His devotion to Roots Rock Reggae, New Roots and Dub guided him all around Japan, touring with the soundsystem and urging him to reach new musical heights

His first release on Dubophonic Records is a musical and holy salutation to the Auspicious, an adoration to the Most High. Based on one of the most important Mantras in the Shaivism tradition, Namah Shivaya is associated with qualities of prayer, divine-love, grace, truth, and blissfulness. It calms the mind and brings spiritual insight and knowledge. Traditionally, it is accepted to be a powerful healing mantra beneficial for all physical and mental ailments. “Na” sound represents the earth, “Mah” sound represents the water, “Shi” sound represents the fire, “Va” sound represents the air and “Ya” sound represents thesky. Its total meaning is that "universal consciousness is one". The recitation of these syllables is sound therapy for the body and nectar for the inner self and the soul.

Dub Cmd - Moonsteppa

Dub Command is a solo project of the UK based dub producer and musician Gabriel Ufir, born and raised in Poland, where his love for reggae and dub originates from.

After moving to the UK at the age of 18, Gabriel started learning to produce electronic and computer music and fell in love with composing music. During this time he continued to explore dub scene and through years of experiments in the studio he managed to create a unique blend of serious dub basslines over electronic-reggae, often lo-fi style tracks. With a fast growing audience and positive response from soundsystems, Gabriel will be working soon on his new material and start to perform live shows in 2020.

The Moonsteppa EP is the artist’s first official release. It includes two heavyweight rootical dubs, accompanied by their crucial versions. Give thanks to Mantsche for the inspiring artwork.

Good Over Evil - Keep The Fire Burning

Good Over Evil Productions is a roots reggae project founded in Spain by the producers Jah Ivan and Dani Roots, the singer Sista Livity and Furi the manager. They come with a clear mission: to spread the Rastafari message by means of their music and their positive vibrations. Strictly Roots and Culture. Word, Sound and Power. Jah music to the people.

They have been releasing their work in different formats since 2008 on their own label (CD, Vinyl, Digital releases, etc.) alongside artists like Sista Livity, Anayah Roots Levi, Robel The Earthiopian (Reuben Addis), Ras Elijah Tafari, Raszor Brankata, Pato Ranking, Sista Moni and more.

It is a blessing that their new tune Keep the Fire Burning is being released on our label. You can feel the Good Over Evil's essence in a pure dub style. It is a militant tune, with a mystic atmosphere and remembrance of the mighty ancients sounds worldwide, that inspires a spiritual meditation for a deep connection with our inner self and with the most high God, almighty, creator of all life, Jah Rastafari. The Dubbstyle - Sun Is Dub

The Argentinean dub monkeys are back! After being included in the compilation Explorations In Dub (2013), their guest appearance on the Red Star Martyrs' album Time for Tea (2014) and the release of their own album Simona (2015), the brothers Mauro and Federico Salina from Mentoza (ARG) are back with more vibrations.

Their new album is entitled Sun Is Dub and includes eight musical dub-works. Compared to their previous works, their 2019 sound is much more mature, which is normal for every artist who respect his work and strives to evolve.

Starting with Navidub and following with Combination (with a vocal sample of the classic Indian singer Shruti Katkar) the album is a journey into the dub sounds and the cultures of the world. Sometimes melodic and organic, other times rhythmical and heavyweight, the dub is to be heard in all eight tunes of the album. The last track Simona, is a reference to their previous album, newly re-done ft. the Mexican dub pioneers Unidub Estereo.

The Argentinean dub monkeys are back! The new album of the brothers Mauro and Federico Salina from the high regions of Mendoza will be entitled Sun Is Dub and will include eight dubwise tracks, in the spirit of the new breed of dub acts combining live organic sounds with the on-stage dubbing.

SistaSara - Space Stepper

SistaSara is a female music producer, a freedom stepper, creating her own style of Reggae Dub music mainly influenced by UK Stepper, PsyDub and Trip Hop. We call it “Hypnotic dub music with a psychedelic touch”.

Sara Fuga was born in Venice, Italy, with Italian mother & Nigerian father. She started as a session drummer and backing vocalist in numerous bands and projects in Italy from 1995 till 2003. In Spring 2003 she moved to London, UK, where she began studying music production. The London Dub scene was a crucial influence in her music development and it is a core factor in her music identity.

Sara is now an independent experimental Dub music producer. Alongside her Solo productions, she collaborates with other fellow producers as a songwriter & vocalist and in Summer 2015 she moved to Oakland California, USA.

Her first EP on our label is called Space Stepper and includes the following five musical compositions:

Illusions Space Stepper: a space dub cut of a tune called Illusions of Time, which will be included in her upcoming album “Universal”.

Altered Dimensions: a deep and minimal dub remix, a revisitation of Illusions of Time.

Isaiah: a deep, hypnotic and meditative dub tune, which is dedicated to the Prophet Isaiah.

Throughout and Throughout Space Dub are written in traditional UK Steppa style, filled with bass and tribal stepper drums that will hopefully keep you on an upliftment mode.

Daily Vibes awards Best Album of 2018 to Culture Horn

The year 2018 starts with some great news four our label. The Russian portal Daily Vibes has just completed the voting for the title of "Best Album of the Year". Daily Vibes is a portal on the VK platform, dedicated to reggae music in all its sub genres: from Rocksteady to Roots Reggae and dub, to jungle and modern dancehall. They publish news, releases and other materials, organize events, etc.

Nominated were six of the most interesting works related to the genre of reggae released by Russian artists, among them the Moscow Culture Horn sound system.

The voting was completed on the 6th January 2019. With 799 votes out of total 2109 voters (37.89% of the total votes), and with the reggae fans having a difficult choice between the very different reggae styles, the release of Culture Horn Sound System with the participation of USA reggae artist Madi Simmons, I'm A Rootsman was voted BEST ALBUM OF 2018!

We are deeply honored about the results of the voting. Give thanks to all who voted and supported our project and respect to all artists who promote the conscious reggae vibrations.
