Black Adam star Aldis Hodge's series Leverage: Redemption has been renewed for a third season, making a big change by migrating to Prime Video from Amazon Freevee.

The heist series is a revival of Leverage, which ran for five seasons between 2008 and 2012.

In addition to Hodge, original stars Gina Bellman, Christian Kane and Beth Riesgraf reprised their roles for the new series. Hodge's appearance as hacker Alec Hardison was reduced though to accommodate his filming schedule for Black Adam.

Aleyse Shannon also joined the Leverage cast as new hacker and Alec's foster sister Breanna Casey.

Produced by Electric Entertainment, Leverage: Redemption follows the adventures of a team of Robin Hood-esque criminals taking down corrupt individuals after the death of former leader Nate Ford (Timothy Hutton).

Now the series will have a new home on Prime Video after the first two seasons streamed on ad-supported platform Freevee, with Deadline reporting a third chapter is set to premiere in 2024.

"Fans have been devoted to Leverage: Redemption since the series premiered on Freevee," commented Lauren Anderson, head of AVOD; unscripted and targeted programming, Amazon MGM Studios.

"Every season has showcased the fun dynamic between our cast combined with the triumphant, David vs Goliath stories envisioned by our writers. As we embark on our next chapter, we are thrilled to be able to share the show with our Prime customers and continue to offer the exclusive Leverage FAST channel to our Freevee customers."

Electric Entertainment also celebrated the expansion of the Leverage franchise, promising more shenanigans for this band of reformed criminals.

"We are thrilled to announce the expansion of our Leverage franchise in collaboration with the Amazon MGM Studios team," Dean Devlin, executive producer and CEO of Electric Entertainment, said.

"Our dedicated fan base will be delighted to know that they can continue to follow their favorite reformed criminals as they use their expert skills for the greater good, championing the underdog in their acts of goodwill."

Season 3 of Leverage: Redemption will be available to stream on Prime Video in 2024.
