Sonic the Hedgehog 3 is still out in cinemas worldwide, but it is now also available to watch at home right now.
The new movie has sped to more than $420 million worldwide, making it the highest-grossing outing of the series to date. To mark the occasion, Paramount has now released Sonic 3 on digital platforms in the US.
We're still waiting on a streaming release date and a digital release date in the UK, but at least we're one step closer to both of those.
So here's when to expect Sonic the Hedgehog 3 to hit streaming platforms, and how to watch it right now.
How to watch Sonic 3 right now
As mentioned above, Sonic the Hedgehog 3 is still out in cinemas so you can watch it on the big screen today if you wanted.
In the UK, you can take advantage of a variety of cheap cinema ticket deals, saving money at major chains including Vue and Odeon to see Sonic 3.
If you're in the US though, you can also watch the movie at home right now by buying or renting Sonic 3 from Prime Video, iTunes and other participating digital retailers.
But when will it be released on digital platforms in the UK? Let's delve into it.
When will Sonic 3 be released on digital platforms?
In the UK, Paramount movies tend to take around two months from their cinema release to be released digitally.
A similar timeline for Sonic 3 puts its UK digital release date around mid-to-late February, but Paramount has yet to confirm a digital release date in the UK.
In the meantime, you can pre-order Sonic 3 on Prime Video and iTunes in the UK to be able to watch it as soon as it's released.
You can also pre-order the movie on DVD, Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD in the UK.
Is Sonic 3 available to stream?
Sonic the Hedgehog 3 is not yet available to watch on any streaming platform, and Paramount has yet to confirm a streaming release date.
We do know though that Sonic 3 will be available to watch on the studio's own streaming service Paramount+ in the UK and the US after its digital release.
It typically takes two or three months for Paramount movies to land on Paramount+ in the US, putting Sonic 3's streaming debut around mid-February or March.
In the UK, it usually takes around six months for Paramount movies to land on Paramount+, as well as Sky Cinema. That puts Sonic 3's streaming debut in the UK around mid-June.
