Black Adam spoilers follow.
Henry Cavill has spoken further on his return to the role of Superman, teasing an "enormously joyful" and "bright" future ahead.
Earlier this week, the DC star revealed he would be donning the suit again following a cameo in character in a Black Adam mid-credits scene.
Now, speaking to the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Cavill spoke a bit about what fans can expect from the character going forward.
“The character means so much to me. It’s been five years now," he reflected. "I never gave up hope, and it’s amazing to be here now talking about it again.
"There is such a bright future ahead for the character. I’m so excited to tell a story with an enormously joyful Superman.”
The star spoke about filming the Black Adam cameo, revealing he was informed while filming The Witcher, and while he got clearance from the Netflix series to take some time away to film, he couldn’t even tell them what he was doing.

Recalling putting the suit back on again, Cavill admitted: “It was a very powerful moment for me. I wasn’t sure how I would feel… whether it was going to be something that was very emotionally connective, because I put the Man of Steel suit back on.
"I chose that one in particular because of the nostalgia attached to the suit. It was incredibly important for me to be standing there and enjoying that moment. That is one of the top moments in my career. It feels great to have the opportunity to wear it again.”

The actor also revealed that he tempered expectations about a comeback before his return was confirmed, saying: “I told myself I’m gonna let it sit and simmer in the background.
"I'm going to put the cape in the closet and let it stay there, and when the time comes it's ready. I never lost hope, that was the key for me.”
Black Adam is out in cinemas now.
