Timothee Chalamet fans go wild over resurfaced 'nerd' photo of actor

Timothee Chalamet fans have been sent into a frenzy after a throwback photo of the Hollywood star at the age of 14 resurfaced in the internet.

The old picture shows Timothee, 28, just weeks before his 15th birthday posing for a picture with former NBA stars Landry Fields and Andy Rautins - who both played for the New York Knicks at the time.

Turns out the meet and greet occurred after Fields put out a tweet on November 2, 2010 at 4:24pm which read: 'Me & @andyrautins1 will be in the city tonight (starting at 5). The first person to find us and answer our trivia questions wins two tix!'

Fields, now 36, followed it up with another tweet at 6:14pm which read: 'Hahaha the contest is over!! Tim Chalamet is the winner. Found us at grand central. Congrats Tim! See you Friday at the game!'

The tweet was accompanied by a photo of the three of them posing inside Grand Central station, which a young Timothee dressed in a lime green puffer jacket, a black V-neck sweater and gray pants.

The teenager - who sparked pandemonium in a New York City park in October - didn't looked phased at all to be meeting the two athletes and held his fingers up to the camera whilst posing with a serious look on his face.

When the epic throwback snap started doing the rounds on X this week, several people rushed to comment on it.

'Can't be real!' one person said, while another wrote: 'no WAY,' as someone else described it as 'wild.'

'True Ny kid 1 thing about Ny yall hella cultured,' someone else commented, referring to the fact that Timothee was born and raised in New York City.

'lil timmy tim: origins,' another person wrote, while a different fan posted: 'that’s some LOREEEE.'

Someone else said: 'That seems to be famous actor Timothee Chalamet winning some kind of contest put on by then-NBA-rookie Landry fields, when he was still a child.'

'Given that he showed elite NCAA football knowledge on a gameday appearance the other day, this is further evidence he’s a sports nerd,' they added.

They were referring to Timothee's appearance as the 'guest picker' on last week's episode of College GameDay, broadcast live from the SEC Championship game in Atlanta.

There were only six FBS college football games on the cards last week as they've entered the conference championship phase of the season.

But that didn't stop Timothee from doing his homework and preparing facts and statistics about every game that weekend.

From the first game the panel predicted, Timothee showed that he knew ball - shouting out players (including Navarro), statistics, and trends that only the most well-read college football fans would know.

His knowledge stunned the College GameDay panel of Desmond Howard, Pat McAfee, Kirk Herbstreit, Rece Davis, and Nick Saban. Plenty of college football fans were impressed as well.

Social media was awash with references to 'Dune' - where the actor plays main character Paul Atreides.

'I think I speak for all of us when I say, You have our respect, Timothee,' wrote one account on X, formerly Twitter.

Another post read, 'Never question this man's ball knowing ability again.'

'Wasn't sure why he was there but the kid did his research! He was great!,' said another user. A different post simply said, 'Well then... he just got hotter.'
