Last few days of 2017!

Jimmy said it best, "some of it's magic, some of it's tragic, But I had a good life all of the way." 2017 has been a great year! Charlie and family moved here in July - what a treat! Got to see Ty grow and play more football. I am looking forward to the next 4 days off and home with Linda and the critters!

Peloton Rides 6 & 7 - got in #6 on Wednesday and #7 yesterday - enjoying the Peloton - could possibly be bordering on addiction.... :-))

Day after Christmas!

Tuesday was a day to recover from the Christmas festivities and get back to work! I had lunch with one of the greatest guys on the planet, Tom Masterson! I met Tommy in the 70s, we became fast friends and spent many hours training in Judo - Tommy was my mentor. He started as a young guy and had already won national championships by the time we got together! He was amazing and training with him elevated my abilities rapidly! He was 154 and I was 205 and he threw me around like a dish rag! We partied hard after our practices, had a few beers and lots of Italian food a GiGi's! We traveled to tournaments and celebrated together! Tom later coached the US Olympic Judo Team and one of our buddies, Dewey Mitchell medaled! Tom had a super family and he still lives near the old family home in Pasadena! Like his dad, Barney (another of the nicest guys on the planet) he started and still has a law practice! I feel energized and connected with my past when we get together and it's always super to spend time with quality folks!

Ride #5! Tuesday afternoon I completed my 5th ride on the Peloton - a 30 minute low impact ride with Hannah! I could tell it was a little longer than I have been going! Feeing more comfortable on the bike!

Christmas Day 2017

WOW - what an amazing Christmas day! Up early, walked Mickey and took another - #4 - ride on the Peloton! Did the scenic ride just to get things going - loved it! Gathered up all the presents for Charlie, Brook, Ava, Charlotte, Courtney, Ty and Chris and loaded them in the truck! 8 AM - time for Round 1 at Charlie's house! Our house is always a mad house at present time - the Major had everyone sit in chairs and gave out the rules of engagement for receiving / opening of presents..😂
The kids all sat and received their presents and then, they took turns and opened them 1 by 1 - whoa, organized madness! The kids scored BIG this year as Mom, Dad and both sets of grandparents continued to spoil the little boogers! Charlie surprised Brook with some gorgeous diamond earrings and Brook got all of Charlie's wish list, as usual! Brook had made a breakfast casserole that we all devoured in short order - as the kids played with their new toys!

We all cleaned up, went our separate ways to return later for The Christmas feast! Jalapeño poppers, Glazed ham on the Big Green Egg, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, broccoli casserole, rolls - OMG, it was all "to die for"! I cleaned my plate!

We came home and gave all our pups new toys and laughed while they romped and played! I remain humbled and extremely thankful for the countless blessings in my life.....

Christmas Eve 2017 - good morning, already up and walked Mickey - feeling thankful for Christmas and the people in my life... I still feel blessed far beyond what I deserve - as Jimmy sang long ago - "some of it's magic, some of it's tragic, But I had a good life all of the way"....

~Last minute, same day delivery shopping is the "new norm" - before 7AM I ordered several things from Amazon that will be delivered between 8 and 10 AM - wow! Seems like everything is being delivered these days - you can even buy a car online and they will deliver it to you - Carvana! No cars for Christmas this year, but lots of goodies! PLUS - the whole family will be together for 1st time in many years - Charlie, Brook, Ava and Charlotte moved here this summer - so we will all meet at Charlie's house on Christmas Day!

Peloton Ride 2 - last night I had another 20 minute ride and was just as thrilled! Different instructor, different mixtures - just as great! Loving the Peloton - glad to have something I feel "drawn to".... The classes are encouraging and is quickly becoming something I look forward to... Ride #3 today 😎

Good morning whomever and wherever you are! I started this blog - "Jerryspeak" - back 2004 and it fell to the wayside with all the social media and such. Well. I am bringing it back, if for nothing else. to record my journey out of the 60s and into the 70s... Should be a fun ride!

I have always been into sports and exercise - my body is testament that I played hard for many, many years - loved it all! Baseball, football, karate, judo, triathlons, softball and a huge gym rat! I met my wonderful wife while working for a chain of health spas. Now, I am hoping to keep my health and cruise on into the sunset - to that end, the house has welcomed a Christmas gift that is a commitment to my / our health!

Peloton!

I had been looking at it for 6 months or better - finally pulled the trigger and it got here yesterday! Dope! Straight up dope! Amazing equipment - the video of how to - Peloton 101 was perfect and I took my 1st 20 minute beginner ride! The ride was awesome, the instructor was super - lots of instruction and mountains of encouragement! The screen quality, sound, music and bike all make it an experience that had me wanting more! I realize I'm not 28 no more, so I will wait til tomorrow to take ride #2, but so far, the Peloton is everything I expected and more! Here's to continued health!

Ruana hatchet and skinner!

Life just picks you up and moves you forward sometimes and you wonder where the time went... It's been that way lately.... The people and critters I spend most of time with are all fine and life keeps on speeding down the lane! I have thoughts of this blog often and think I will get it going again with pics and thoughts - the way it was 8 or 9 years ago... I enjoy reading the old posts and seeing the pictures, SO, here we go again :-)) Above is a Ruana hatchet and skinner from my knife collection.

Fannie

Fannie is the latest, and greatest (says Linda) in the extremely long line of Moores' critters! Fannie is a French Bulldog and turned 2 in April! She has an awesome personality and keeps us in stitches! She snores like a train and snorts al the time :-)) Linda has spoiled her terribly!!! Linda and I just celebrated our 39th anniversary and we would be hard pressed to count how many critters we have had - and loved! We currently have Lilly, our 8 year old Lab - the sweetest dog that ever lived, Fannie, Toby - a 26 year old cockatiel and George, an 18 year old cat..... happy little farm :-))

The colors of green and gold are of course Randall's colors and I designed a 75th., diamond anniversary logo for the center. The colors for the 75th. logo center section were suggested by Gary Randall. He noted that his father was very patriotic and insisted that the standard spacers on Randall Made Knives always remain red, white and blue in honor of the United States of America. The challenge coin features my 75th. logo on the reverse and the iconic image of Bo and Gary Randall viewing astronaut Gordon Cooper's Randall model #17 "Astro" on the obverse.

I am a Randall nut and of corse, when Rick emailed about his new creation, I have to have 1... or several.... They are usual Rick Bowles masterpieces! Welcome Little mac!!!

It had been a rough few months... We lost Harley on April 13 and then Buffy went 2 months to the day later... We spend so much time with our pets, they are a BIG part of our lives... Harley's death had crushed us badly - I still have bad days and miss my big guy horribly.....

We added another Frenchie on Thursday! Little Mac! Fannie has been a sheer delight as a pet and companion so we got a little guy for her to play with! Louie is 13 weeks, has brindle and white markings and will probably end up bigger than Fannie by a few pounds but they are already becoming fast friends and both slept in the bed together right off the bat.... Linda, the ultimate "dog mom" will have another lucky baby to spoil..... We all should be so lucky as to be 1 of Linda's little critters!

Christmas was nice and quiet and 2012 rolled in with all the usual anticipation of the great year to come! We hung around the house on the 1st 2 days and cleaned out some closets and got in some needed rest! Hello 2012!

WOW!

I never envisioned a time when I wouldn't put something on JerrySpeak for over 6 months! It's like
life has just swept me up and fast forwarded me... 2011 has been speeding by and I can't imagine
where all the time went... I sure would like to hit the pause button for about 6 months and live off
grouper and smoothies :-))
Ava & Ty are growing WAY TOO fast!
Ava turned 3 in April and Ty hit 2 the end of January!
Brook and Charlie will have new family member in December!!!!!
Brook graduated from nursing school!
Courtney and Ty moved across the street - Nana is on major spoil at all times now!
Linda got a French Bulldog puppie - Fannie!!
We celebrated our 37th anniversary in June!
Weddings, trips, work, work, work, --- it's all still happening :-))
