September 2025 Ranger Handbook (TC 3-21.76)
• Updated September 2025 edition with the latest TC 3-21.76 content
• Compact 5×6 inch pocket-size design for field use and fast reference
• Covers leadership, patrols, movement, battle drills, demolitions, TCCC, and more
The Only Ranger Handbook Designed to Actually Fit in Your Pocket — Built for Training, Deployment, and Real-World Field Use
Compact Size. Full Content. Mission-Ready.
This edition is made for the environment Rangers operate in — rucksacks, admin pouches, cargo pockets, classrooms, and field exercises. You get 100% of the official manual content, including tactics, leadership, patrols, battle drills, survival, and planning — without the oversized bulky format of a standard 6×9″ book.
The 5×6″ pocket design matches how students and leaders actually carry their references: ✔ Fits in uniform pockets ✔ Easy to reference on the move ✔ Durable for repeated field use ✔ Lightweight enough to take everywhere
Whether you’re prepping for Ranger School, training soldiers, building SOPs, or simply wanting an everyday reference, this edition is sized for real practicality — not bookshelf storage.
Built for Soldiers, Leaders, and Trainers
Designed for students, instructors, and combat arms leaders who need fast access to proven doctrine. This book is a professional tool — not a souvenir — and is ideal for: • Pre-Ranger training • Infantry and maneuver units • NCO leadership development • ROTC programs • Field exercises and FTXs
Carry it, write in it, tab it — it’s meant to be used.
Small Format — Big Capability
Pocket-size means more use, more access, and more repetitions. When doctrine is physically with you, you reference it more… and that translates to competence, confidence, and better results.
This edition keeps the content exactly as published — just optimized for the way soldiers actually train and learn.
Official Ranger Handbook Content — Optimized for Field Use
Hand and Arm Signals
"Visual signals are any means of communication that require sight and transmit prearranged messages rapidly over short distances. The most common types of visual signals are hand and arm, flag, pyrotechnic, and ground-to-air."
Dual Initiation
"The demolitions effects simulator is the only charge constructed in Ranger School. Figure 5-6 on page 5-8 depicts a basic constructed demolitions effects simulator charge system, and figure 5-7 on page 5-8 depicts a demolitions effects simulator charge with a dual initiating system."
Types of Bounds
"Successive bounds. One element moves to a position, and then, the overwatching elementmoves to a position generally on the same line with the first element.
(b)Alternating bounds. One element moves into position, and then, the overwatching element moves to a position in front of the first element."
The Rappel Seat
"The rappel seat is a rope harness for rappelling and climbing. Tie it with the left or right hand. The leg straps do not cross and are tightly centered on the buttocks (see figure 9-11, step 3). The leg straps form locking half hitches on the rope around the waist (see figure 9-11, step 3)."
