From the Inside Flap
Most companies are experimenting with AI. Very few are winning with it.
The businesses that are truly succeeding with AI are doing something different. They are designing AI systems that reshape their products, services, and core business processes―and in doing so, creating real competitive advantage. In short, they’re rewired to outcompete with AI.
These leading companies, many profiled in this second edition of Rewired, are already seeing game-changing results. Those results don’t come from having “better” AI or tech, but rather from how effectively and quickly these companies apply technology to real business problems, at scale.
That kind of impact only comes when companies develop six broad capabilities. Taken together, these capabilities form a powerful engine that enables leaders to reimagine how the business works and accelerate innovation cycles that better serve customers and lower unit costs. This book shows what those capabilities are and how to develop them.
Rewired is a practical playbook. It brings together clear frameworks, hands-on advice, and proven approaches based on years of McKinsey work with the world’s top companies. More than 100 exhibits and 30 detailed case studies provide a depth of practical know-how that just isn’t available anywhere else.
Building on the bestselling first edition, this fully revised and expanded version addresses the rapid acceleration of AI-driven transformation― and the profound leadership implications for CEOs, executive teams, and boards.
If you believe AI will change everything―but worry your organization is not moving fast or coherently enough―Rewired shows what it takes to architect an enterprise that out-innovates, out-runs, and out-performs in the age of AI.
