Why Is This Theme Slow?

    Why is this theme slow? I’ve been using it for about a year now and it has always loaded at roughly 4.7 seconds at Pingdom. I’ve got 67 blog posts and I just tested it again today and it’s still the same speed. I just want to know why it’s so slow and if there’s anything I can do to fix it? If not, I’m gonna have to switch to a different theme.

    I figured it out, minifying with the theme options made the site slower. As soon as I minified with a caching plugin, the site was loading much faster.
