V 5.50 update critical error

I rolled back to the previous version to get around this for now but this is the message from my host:

Our monitoring systems detected that your site (Live) is not available and displays the following PHP error:

2023/02/24 00:06:20 [error] 104893#104893: *765383 FastCGI sent in stderr: “PHP message: PHP Fatal error: Uncaught TypeError: in_array(): Argument #2 ($haystack) must be of type array, null given in /wp-content/plugins/woocommerce-payments/includes/platform-checkout/class-platform-checkout-utilities.php:135

Hello @lizalake,

This matches a new issue with handling an unexpected null value, and a new fix merged on the WooCommerce Payments development repository:

This code was approved only hours ago, so I expect it to be included in the next release of the plugin. In the meantime, you can roll back to 5.4.0 by downloading a rolled-back version on this page: https://wordpress.org/plugins/woocommerce-payments/advanced/

Thank you! I rolled back as soon as I found the error and disabled automatic updates. I’ll keep an eye out for the new rollout.

I had the same issue today.

I also fixed it rolling back the “WooCommerce Payments” plugin from version 5.5.0 to 5.4.0, using the plugin “WP Rollback”.

I have also disabled the automatic plugin update, for now.
