PayPal Donation Fees
-
I don’t see an option in Forminator to use PayPal’s donation functionality instead of the shopping/checkout functionality. This means that PayPal will charge higher fees than if I continue using the PayPal donation function. Furthermore this reduces the flexibility to use integrated donation functionality like making it easy for the donor to make a recurring payment or pay the donation fees.

For example, if a donor uses Forminator’s PayPal integration to donate $70, then we pay a fee of $2.93. If we receive the donation through the PayPal donation form, then we only pay a fee of $2.59. While the loss of $0.34 in fees is small, that can add up to a lot over time – not to mention the lack of an option to pass on those fees potentially costing much more.
I do appreciate that the current functionality in Forminator is sophisticated enough to request additional help with the fees and include that in the form, but that requires hardcoding the fee amount which PayPal could change anytime. That can also unnecessarily take additional money from our organization or donors that could instead contribute to our organization’s goals.
I would like to know what steps the developers of Forminator have taken or intend to take with regard to implementing a better PayPal donation integration. I would also be interested to know details of other payment integrations specifically for donations that you currently support or plan to support.
