Not able to upload media

What exactly is the message you receive when you try to upload media files?

Is there anything unusual under Tools > Site Health?

Not receiving any notification is also very strange and sounds to me like a plugin is interfering. Can you try deactivating all plugins and then try to upload a file? If it works, then it was one of the plugins.

If it still doesn’t work without plugins, switch to a standard theme such as TwentyTwentyFive and test it.
