# Media Library issue

 * Hello 🙂
    I recently re-installed WordPress after a few issues. Now, when I go
   to the Media Library to upload an image, it successfully uploads but I see a 
   blank thumbnail. When I click on the blank thumbnail and copy the file path into
   the address bar, I get an internal server error. My host has setup logging and
   there are no entries in the error log. I have tried changing the permissions,
   clearing cache, deactivating all plugins, switching themes, increasing the memory
   limit, renaming htdocs and nothing seems to work. Can someone please help me?

 * The ‘upload successful’ message isn’t fully accurate. The blank thumbnail kind
   of points at a missing image.
 * How do you know it is a ‘successful upload’? Can you navigate to the media directory
   and actually see the file?
 * Why would you rename htdocs?
 * Could we see the screencap of that internal server error? The error itself might
   tell a bit more about the problem but then again most likely points at a missing
   file.

 * As you’ve already followed the **recommended** steps for **troubleshooting** 
   this issue, could you please try the following:
    - Try using a **different** browser or incognito/private window to log in to
      your site and upload the image
    - Check whether the **file permissions** are set **correctly** for your WordPress

 * Another **option** if you can install plugins, is to **install** and **activate****

   It will add a new **feature** under Tools > Site Health. On its **Troubleshooting**
   tab, you can **Enable Troubleshooting Mode**. This mode will **disable** all 
   plugins, **switch** to a standard WordPress theme (if available), **allow** you
   to turn your plugins **on and off**, and **switch** between themes, **without**
   affecting normal visitors to your site. **Following** these **steps** allows 
   you to **test** for various **compatibility** issues.
