1) Inability to “Submit” is confined to occasions when the “Text” option in “Description” is active.
If the “Visual” option in “Description” is active an Event CAN be submitted.
2) Even when Frontend Event Create Status is set to “Publish” Event is only saved to “Draft” and does not appear in front-end. When its status is changed (in the backend) to “Publish” it appears in front end and in Calendar.
3) a few tiny display issues (included one mentioned by @keshabee above)

Also at the moment the link for say “The Big Event” is mysite/events/the-big-event is to “page not found”
I then created an “Events” page but still events/the-big-event/ is “page not found”
