An error occurred while installing your license key.

    Hi there,

    I hope that you can help.

    For the first time in several years of using Wordfence, I have been asked to get a license for it. I have acquired a free license but, am unable to install it. Every time I try I get a very non-specific error message, “An error occurred while installing your license key,” and am directed to contact Wordfence support if the problem persists. So here I am.

    Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks in adavance.

    If that’s not helped, are you simultaneously experiencing any red errors in the browser console for the license activation page?

    You should still have access to the Wordfence > Tools menu to send us a diagnostic report so we can take a closer look if necessary. You can send that to us at wftest @ wordfence . com. Click on “Send Report by Email”. Please add your forum username where indicated and respond here after you have sent it.

    Hi Peter,

    Thanks for getting back to me.

    I was able to solve the problem in the end by deleting and reinstalling Wordfence. It then didn’t ask me to go elsewhere to get a license key: one was automatically assigned.

    I appreciate you coming and offering assitance.
