activation emails

I kept seeing this alert in my WP:

Thanks! You should receive an activation email for Post SMTP to your mailbox at my@email.com. Please make sure you click the activation button in that email to complete the install.

This so-called activation email was sitting in my spam and was sent from a “Saad Iqbal” <contact@wpexperts.io> via freemius.com, not from “Post SMTP”. If your expertise is email delivery and communication, you have some work to do.
