View Download History using Logs?

Hi,

I need to view the download history for a file stored on my site, as I need to know up to the current date rather than in the future, a ‘Download Manager’ plugin is of little/no use to me.

I am aware that there may be a way to view this information using log files but I wouldn’t know where to start, can anyone give me a jumping off point so I can do some digging?
