The Friday Reminder and Prompt for #SoCS July 22, 2023

Badge by Shelley Krupa..

Good morning SoCs followers Linda has sent us what I consider a tricky challenge today and I am really not sure how I am going to approach it! Mind you the rules are: no planning, no preparation, no corrections just stream of consciousness. Well here we go, LindaGHill said. “Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “sap/spa/asp/pas/PSA.” Use one, use them all, use them any way you’d like. Bonus points if you use them all. Enjoy!

I did not want to start the day, already I am feeling the life beginning to sap out of me and I have only been up two hours. I look out the window and see the birds doing pas de deux on the grass, for some reason they are all out there as couples?
A day at the spa would possibly solve the problem but I haven’t the time or truthfully the inclination for one.
So I am sitting here with the asp of exhaustion and laziness creeping up and coiling around me. I really should move but I don’t want to. I put the radio on and there is a PSA wet weather and storms coming this way!
Okay I give up I am off back to bed!

Peace

Light
Colours
My dream place
Where my mind’s ease
Lifts me, to gentle space
Perfume heady take my mind home
To a kinder time, happy and carefree
Pastel soft my mood lightens as memories flood
Murmurs in my ears, flowers in my hands
Time slips by like hourglass sand
I meld into this place
Remove the years
Grateful, tired
I find
Peace

THIS IS PART OF COLLEEN CHESEBRO’S TUESDAY TANKA CHALLENGE

#TankaTuesday #Poetry Challenge No. 277, #SpecificForm: tanka prose.

This month Colleen has chosen a Tanka Prose as our form to work with this month. I am not too good with this form I need more practice. I have written about my husband struggling with the aftermath of covid .

Another night where sleep eludes us. The cough is so harsh and painful. It racks his being. I cannot sleep , I feel the strain on his body.
Silently I lay still for fear he may of found sleep and I do not want to wake him. Minutes pass I resist the urge to check he’s still breathing and I relax. Suddenly the rasping cough returns and rips the peace asunder.
Finally the dawn creeps through the curtains, he is silent, sleeping. I arise exhausted to face another day.

night shadows enfold
we exist in half life fear
will we ever rest
the covid cough is so cruel
lack of breath day and night tires

Goodbye Mexico

Hello England

Well it’s back down to reality with a bang! Home yesterday after eight and a half hour flight. Having had only a short nap on the plane,we were tired. The sun was shining (a rarity here of late) so I got all the holiday washing on the go. Then we found out the Mother in Law, who was 98yrs old yesterday had nothing planned neither hubby’s brother or sister was doing anything to celebrate with her! So we abandoned all hope if sleep and took her out for an Indian meal early evening. She was pleased and enjoyed herself and was spoilt. So after being on the go for 23hrs we finally got to bed 😱!

Today I should of gone to Pilates at 9am but we did not wake up until 10.30am ( I wonder why) so Pilates was out. Well it was hubby’s birthday, yes the day after his Mum’s! So I gave him his pressie and made breakfast. Our middle son who had a day off took us out for lunch as a treat for his Dad! Then we went and got Ruby back from our sister in law and her hubby ( no longer a sister-in-law but dearly loved friend) they always look after Ruby when we are away.

We took Ruby for a walk then had tea then a busy evening sorting things. Hubby rang or texted everyone thanking them for their cards and wishes.

So I only had a chance to check my mail an hour ago. Guess what there was a lovely nomination badge waiting for me… As you can see after wracking my brain I did remember how to put it up on my blog woohoo!

So that has finished of a great day perfectly. All that leaves me to say is thank you to whoever nominated me and another thank you to whoever may have voted for me I am truly honoured and grateful. We have not got much longer to wait to find out who the winners are. I want to wish everyone who was nominated lots of Good Luck and I look forward to meeting those of you who are attending the ABB on the nineteenth….. Not long now.

Well it’s nearly 00.46 and I need to sleep so I must go to bed. I know I am behind reading all your Posts and I am behind with writing too but please bare with me and I shall do my best to catch up with you all.💜💜💜

Above, tired me! Night Night all 💜💜💜💜

Hot Saturday Afternoon 🙄

I am sitting in the garden to escape hubby’s music… I am sorry we just don’t share the same taste!

Although it is beautifully quite out here the seats are very uncomfortable, wrought iron and very pretty but in no way comfy for my boney mishapen back.

Well there are positives I am in the shade and there seems to be a breeze and the view is not bad.

Ruby is hot tired and bored and is missing her afternoon walks which have all had to of been delayed until about 8pm when it is bearable to venture out into the fields. At the moment it is 25 degrees Celsius and isn’t going to drop to 23 derees Celsius until 10pm .

She is so bored that she has lined some of her beloved tennis balls up on the patio.  When we go out for a walk she will spend five minutes deciding which ball she wants to carry over to the field to play with!

I have move upstairs now as the chair has set off my cyatic nerve, my own fault I should of got the seat cushions but that would of meant possibly waking hubby as I passed him ( he has spent the last week helping a friend of ours who needed some decorating done and so he is exhausted) yes he is asleep with his music blaring out of the sound bar.😉 So as he and Ruby are in zonk land I shall let sleeping dogs and men lie.

I am bored, like Ruby, it’s too hot to go out and too hot to stay in! I have done the early morning dog walk, washed the floors done the ironing, prepared lunch, which I couldn’t eat because I have no appetite.

I have rung my brother’s and sisters and got no answer. So here I am boring you!

Oh! I can hear Desperado by the Eagles…. that’s me today. Tired, hot and a little miserable and I don’t know why. I had better buck my ideas up as I am British, you know! Well I am English/ Irish born in London. I am splitting hairs now.

Well I had better stop now before you all start throwing rotten tomatoes and eggs at your screened! Why not tell me what your all up to on this Saturday afternoon!

Oh! I am that one person in England who does not like tennis so this is not a good fortnight  for me .Hummmph! 😒😣😎

Welcome to my “Heartland Echoes,” where I aim to share my poems with the world, along with my survival story and autobiography of childhood abuse, motivational quotes, and much more. Through my words, I hope to inspire others to share their own stories and experiences. Each poem is a piece of my heart and soul, along with a story of a traumatic past, crafted with inspiration, Hope, faith, love and passion. I believe that by sharing our art and emotions, I’ll be able to connect with others on a deeper level and create a sense of community.
