Colleen’s 2019 Weekly #Tanka Tuesday #Poetry Challenge No. 156, #Poet Choice

TUESDAY TANKA!

It’s the first of the month and you know what that means! Poets choose your own words.

PLEASE support the other poets by visiting their blogs and leaving comments. Sharing each other’s work on social media is always nice too. Don’t forget to share your poetry in the comments. It’s been great seeing all your poetry in one place!

So it’s thanks to Colleen Chesebro for the prompt, rules, pingbacks, and poems here. Lonely and Pity are my chosen words this week. Again I have chosen a Tanka. In this time of Christmas with all the hype on the media, the homeless, the poor the ill tend to be forgotten.

Living on the street
Cold, hungry, looking at feet.
No one cares for me
None show any sympathy
Good will to all, oh! really.

We have a new badge from Colleen too, thank you Colleen it’s lovely.

Just Jot It January: Dull Days

Dull Day

Dull days  full of  rain

Will the sun ever  shine

On my tired  face  again.

Empty days like a shrine

To  a former brighter life

Gone  all  hopes of mine

No  warmth  only strife.

Loss

Long dark lonely  nights

Muddled  thoughts attack my head

I am tied down unable  to take flight

Agonies and fears circle my bed

There is no where to run

Was it too much to ask

To enjoy  a  growing bundle of fun

Sadly it seems  not to be my task……..

This post is part of Just Jot It January hosted by Linda G Hill.

Thanks for tuning in and if you want to join, feel free to click on the link and start jotting!

Invisible !

Why am I invisible why am I never heard

No one ever listens to me they treat me as observed!

Always someone elses problems no one listens to me

I think I am a nonentity , impossible to see.

Slowly I am disappearing slipping out of sight.

I get over looked on face book  and ignored in the street

I am standing here  but it is pointless because I am ignored .

Someone hug me , speak to me notice  me once more.

Hopelessness

http://www.sitesplus.co.uk/

Where is she going and where has she been.

She is the most  hopeless soul you have ever seen

Why is she out there why so alone .

Does no one miss her, has she no loving home.

Where are her parents , her teachers and friends

Is this all that is left to her, is this hopelessness where she ends.

Out in all weather, aimless, sharing a bench with the old men in the park.

Scrounging for coffee and scraps of food at back doors of the restaurants after dark.

Her Mother’s boyfriend was too fond of her,her Mum to frightened or to busy to care

Her teachers uncaring didn’t notice the signs, her lost weigh and dull eyes, a sudden loss of all flair.

It all came to a head when her Mum found her with  HIM in bed.

Mum wouldn’t listen to a word that she said.

He had raped her, she had pleaded her case .

But her  Mum had screamed at her and then slapped her face

So now lost and lonely with no where to go

She wonders the big city her fears in full flow.

No one to love her no one to care she is homeless and helpless and underage.

Already she is changing , she has stolen for drink her life’s spiraling downward and her head’s full of rage.

Why had Mum not listened , why had Mum let him push her out

She lost and she is hopeless prey to demons and doubt………………….

Heartland Echoes

Welcome to my “Heartland Echoes,” where I aim to share my poems with the world, along with my survival story and autobiography of childhood abuse, motivational quotes, and much more. Through my words, I hope to inspire others to share their own stories and experiences. Each poem is a piece of my heart and soul, along with a story of a traumatic past, crafted with inspiration, Hope, faith, love and passion. I believe that by sharing our art and emotions, I’ll be able to connect with others on a deeper level and create a sense of community.
