This week, we’re talking tanka and other experimental tanka forms! So I thought I would try a Taiga Prose. I was suddenly struck yesterday evening about how wonderful family is and also how life is not infinite.

Last night we all met to celebrate our middle son’s 50th Birthday. We were all seat round a large table in a courtyard, sweet smelling hedges and umbrellas to shade us from the unseasonably hot weather. I was struck by the beauty of family with all the faults and foibles we possess. Three generations, hubby and I, our son’s and daughter-in-law and our grandchildren. It was beautiful and I was happy. These moments are to be treasured there are more behind me than in my future. These times make us profound.
