This week’s challenge from Colleen for her Tuesday Tanka Challenge is Synonyms Only. That means you choose two synonyms for the two words below. Use must use the synonyms in your poem, NOT the two words.

Flow & Wave

A HAIKU FOR COLLEEN CHESEBRO’S WEEKLY HAIKU CHALLENGE.

Ronovan Writes Décima Poetry Challenge Prompt No. 32: (SLEEP) in the B rhyme line.

Welcome to the Décima Poetry Challenge. Each week we’ll be attempting a Décima, also known as an Espinela, poem.

If you don’t know how to write a Décima, click HERE to go to a post on How to Write an Espinela or Décima Poem.

You may, if you wish, make some kind of link between the Haiku Challenge prompt .Ebb and Flow and Sleep.

The two challenges are separate but can be combined if we choose to do so.

Tides of Madness

The tides of madness ebb and flow
Restlessness only calmed by sleep.
The waking hours make me weep.
Dark seasons like days of shadow.
Seeds of darkling around me grow.
Fears inside me grow and recede.
Monsters use my terror as feed.
Madness has me held as captive.
Rise and fall, trapped, no more to give.
Madness eats my soul and I bleed

The above painting is work of Dorothea Tanning it is called The Madness of Doors.

Thursday Photo Prompt, Flow.

This week’s #writephoto, Thursday photo prompt, from Sue Vincent of Daily Echo is entitled flow.

“Stay” were the last words her master had said.

Stay she did until sadly she was dead.

Long days and nights she waited in turn.

Lovingly waiting her master’s return.
Mother Nature took pity on her

Decided her decay she would defer.

Gently covering her features with grass and moss.

Nature tried to ease her death and her loss.
The river passed her everyday

The waterfall sings to her while at play.

Pleople come to visit her from far and near.

They pat her head and stroke her ear.
Meanwhile  from up above

She sits with her master, her love.

In death they are united

They have eachother at last reunited.

Heartland Echoes

Welcome to my “Heartland Echoes,” where I aim to share my poems with the world, along with my survival story and autobiography of childhood abuse, motivational quotes, and much more. Through my words, I hope to inspire others to share their own stories and experiences. Each poem is a piece of my heart and soul, along with a story of a traumatic past, crafted with inspiration, Hope, faith, love and passion. I believe that by sharing our art and emotions, I’ll be able to connect with others on a deeper level and create a sense of community.
