Cinquain Poetry Prompt 47: REFRESH is your inspiration.

Silhouette of Dawn

To wake
To mornings song
Her colours refreshed new
Dawn floods life, makes all one with the
Planet

JuJoJan 9/1/26 Celebrate and Stream of Consciousness Saturday 10/1/26 . “Don’t get me started”

Our prompt yesterday for JusJoJan was courtesy of the wonderful Wendy. Thank you, Wendy! Please be sure to visit Wendy’s blog to read her posts and say hello. And follow her while you’re there if you’re not already.

Your prompt for JusJoJan January 9th, 2026 is “celebrate.” Use it any way you’d like. Have fun!

Celebrate the dawn here she comes tripping over the horizon. You would think she’d know by now that it’s lying in wait but no! Every morning it is the same she trips and stubbs her toe. Hold on I digress we are about to celebrate the dawn.

Raise your hands in praise
As she sets the scene ablaze
As she twirls her cloak
Spreading golds and reds around
Celebrate dawn’s arrival.

Your prompt for #JusJoJan the 10th and Stream of Consciousness Saturday is: “don’t get me started.” Use the phrase in your post or just write about the first thing it conjures in your mind. Use it any way you’d like. Enjoy!

“Don’t get me started” Morgarna was bristling with rage.
“I only asked how it went ” smirked Merlin as Morgarna swished past him on her way to the bathroom.
She was covered from head to foot in mud and cowdun .
Merlin crept up to the bathroom door smothering a hearty laugh… Taking a deep breath he asked through the door. “Morgs, babe what happened…”
There was a scream that could shatter the stained glass of a thousand cathedrals.
Merlin fell to his knees his ears bleeding.
Morgarna stepped over the quivering Merlin she looked down at him and spat: “I said don’t get me started!”

Sliver Lining

You
Ever
Hopefully
Looking forward
Reaching for inner
Peace, and silver lining
When things are at their darkest
Delve into your innermost soul
Dawn will come as sure as the world turns.
Bringing light that fills your darkest hour.

Dan who hosts the CFFC CHALLENGE . Said: This week, we’re beginning a new series in where we’re looking for photos taken at different points during the day”. As I suggested this theme I thought I would join in .

Dan went on to say:”This week, we’re looking for photos taken near dawn. For this series, the day has been divided into six blocks of time, so we need to be careful not to overlap. After dawn, we will move onto “Morning” then “Afternoon” before moving into the evening, etc. The timing doesn’t need to be precise, I mention this only to help you prepare for the upcoming weeks.”

You can find all the rules here

All the photos below were taken at dawn .

Through the Window .

Sally from Hot Dogs And Marmalade wrote a post this morning called Through My Window and please do read her post here. It’s a lovely post and has lovely photos. Anyway at the end of her post she said “Somewhere in all this is a poem. It’s about darkness and light and reflecting.I’m just too tired to write it. Can you?”

So I did here you go Sally 💜💜

Daybreak

Woosh! She swirls her skirts around

Orange, gold, grey and blue

Silently, she wakes the day, without a sound.

She crayons the trees in black, anew

Bidding farewell to the night

Gently she drops dew the land to nourish

Waving off the early bird in flight

She wakes the Sun so we can flourish

#TankaTuesday 2/8/22 #Poetry Challenge No. 260, #SpecificForm: Abhanga

Welcome to Colleen Chesebro’s #TANKATUESDAY!

The form is: Abhanga.

My Abhanga is in praise of a new day and is inspired by the video below. The song by Imogen Heap, Xizi She Knows is in praise of the dawn and shows a city waking to a new day. The old man doing Ti Chi at the beginning and the older lady who throws her arms wide and screams her greeting to the dawn, (just before the shot of people throwing leaves off of a bridge) and the man with the gold flag are the shots that truly lift my soul. The whole video is a joyful greeting to the day.

In praise of the New Day.

We greet the new morning
Full of bright new promise
Energy slow release
A brand new day.

Time stands frozen and still
A city wakes, eyes wide
Roads are filled, rivers plied
Worship the sun

Collars turned to the cold
Hats and gloves combat chills
Birds fill the air with trills
Covered in frost.

Another chance to breathe
God give us a new day
And a push on our way
Praise be, thank you.

2020 WEEKLY #TANKA TUESDAY #POETRY CHALLENGE NO. 204, #THEMEPROMPT

WELCOME TO TANKA TUESDAY!

It’s the fourth week of the month! Are you ready for a theme prompt?

This month’s theme is a haiku written by Sue Vincent:

clouds cover the moon,
beyond dawn’s pale horizon
sun rises unseen
.

©2020 Sue Vincent

Please use the above haiku to inspire your own syllabic poetry. There’s a lot to unpack in these words. What will your interpretation be? Go where the words take you.

I wrote an Etheree in honour of the Dawn.

New Hope

A
Sliver
Of silver.
A ray of hope
Night shades wrapped and cloaked.
Dawn dancing on her way
With stealth she starts a new day
Silver and gold look glorious
Bright skirts swirling around, hope for us.
Secretly ringing the changes of life.

This is part of Colleen Chesebro’s Tuesday Tanka.

Colleen’s 2019 Weekly #Tanka Tuesday #Poetry Challenge No. 154 #PhotoPrompt

I have written a Tanka. Celebrating another day.

And So The Dawn

Come beautiful birds
Fill the skies, grace my eyes
Share with me the dawn
Together we awaken
The beauty of tomorrow

Have a good week everyone

September Music 16

For the month of September I am going to choose a piece of music or song and write a poem or alternative version. Jane Dougherty is doing a September Stanza here. And Kat Myrman is doing September a poem a day Here.

Today’s piece of music is Canon in D by Johann Pachelbel

My interpretation.

Peace

Quiet

At sunset

And sunrise too

Colours melding bright

Old friends are well met

All of God’s creation

Knows exactly what to do

Nature rests and soon will renew

All the horizons are lit with hope

For a peaceful night or a bright new day.

Welcome to my “Heartland Echoes,” where I aim to share my poems with the world, along with my survival story and autobiography of childhood abuse, motivational quotes, and much more. Through my words, I hope to inspire others to share their own stories and experiences. Each poem is a piece of my heart and soul, along with a story of a traumatic past, crafted with inspiration, Hope, faith, love and passion. I believe that by sharing our art and emotions, I’ll be able to connect with others on a deeper level and create a sense of community.
