Dan Antion – Bridge to Nowhere: A Rascal Todd Mystery.
About the book
Pittsburgh reporter Rachael Todd has a hard deadline — and it’s personal. Her friend is a murder suspect. He knew the victim. He had a strong motive and a weak alibi. Rachael’s certain he is being framed, and she’ll have to live up to her nickname “Rascal” to clear him. Rascal sees a connection to an earlier crime. The clock is ticking as she digs through multiple layers of legal and bureaucratic misdeeds, crimes, and evidence that the police ignored.
Is a crime solved when the criminals are identified, or only after they are brought to justice? This is a mystery born from that question. The story includes many twists and turns, even after the crime is solved. It features characters, including the bad guys, that grow in ways that might surprise you, and well-researched circumstances that will take you from delight to frustration while moving you close to the edge of your seat—sound interesting? If it does, this book is for you.

My Review
Having read and really enjoyed the first three books in the series I was really looking forward to reading Dan’s new book: BRIDGE TO NOWHERE, would I miss my old favourite characters? would I get used to this new female protagonist ?Rachael or Rascal Todd. Would I like this new regime.
The answer is a resounding yes! I was hooked by the end of the first chapter. Everyone in this book has a highly defined character and I soon got to know and like them … even Rascal’s cat, Bonkers, has a great personality! I even found myself begrudgingly liking some of the Baddies. This is where Dan excells as a writer he gives his characters souls and you can either like them or not. I liked them.
Now I am not going to say too much about the plot apart from it is a cracker and and exciting ride. Rascal is busy with her new boss, job, boyfriend and doing an interesting series at work. She soon gets sidetracked into a web of deciet that endangers her and her and those close to her. Luckily she has a savy boss and boyfriend and plenty of good contacts.
We meet Rascals parents her Dad used to work with her new boss. The men in her life all have their opinions on how she should handle things …but our girl Rascal has a mind and a will of her own, she may listen but she’ll make her own decisions.
So hang on to your hats you’re in for an explosive ride and I believe you will love it, I certainly did. This book is a stand alone story so you can easily enjoy it if you have not read the others. That said they are so good I highly recommended you read them too.
